4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: - Extremely quiet!! It is so quiet that I have to make sure it is actually working!
- Cools CPU very effectively
- Easy to install
- LED on cooler
- No mods to my computer case were needed

Cons: - I wish the install instructions were better
- Parts aren't labeled as well as they could be
- two different types of screws and it is tough to tell which one they are on the instructions
- Makes bubbling noise sometimes, but it goes away after a couple of minutes or a computer restart.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this cooler to anyone and everyone.

4 out of 5 eggsEfficient, but the instructions and pieces leaves much to be desired.

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: + Fits the Motherboard snug, so low chance of the heat sink not having good contact.

+ Feels very sturdy, and it's silent.

+ LED indicator in case there's a problem

+ Priced to move

+ Comes with Thermal Grease so there wasn't a second purchase necessary.

+ Has two different sections in the instructions for different types of motherboards.

+ Well known enough to have plenty of video help on websites like Youtube for troubleshooting.

Cons: - Radiator is rather large [Had to drill holes in my PC case for it to fit.

- The bolts and mounting pieces are all just shoved into a bag, no identification mark on the bag just all the pieces are stuffed in there.

- Instructions are just pictures, they don't say what they're doing in the pictures.

Other Thoughts: Overall I like the product, my games and other programs run without a hitch and I've even forgot that my pc was on for a minute because it was so silent and at the price you pay for it I can strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade without making a large financial investment. [It's not getting a 5 Egg review from me because if my cons.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent deal for a higher end AMD cpu

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: - Very quiet cooling fan included
- Product construction feels solid
- Keeps processor very cool with little fuss - Quad core 4.4GHz AMD processor stays around 40 degrees C under heavy load
- Neat lights on the block to boot

Cons: - Instructions could be a bit more clear (identifying parts, and the order they need to be applied in)
- Tubing is pretty stiff - takes a little bit of thought to make sure you find the proper positioning for the radiator
- Very infrequently does it make some bubbling/gurgling noises - I almost thought it was leaking at one point
- VERY hard pressure applied to the processor/motherboard. I thought I was going to break something, and it went on. I guess that pays off, though, with better temperatures.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master is a brand you can trust. Overall, I felt this product has a good build quality, and will get newbies to water cooling like me a nice start.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: That plus the cold environment where I live kept my old FX 8350 very cool.

Cons: Noisy

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great for about 2 weeks, clanking noise

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Quiet when new, sturdy, well built

Cons: Tubes are stiff making it difficult to install in small/micro cases, motor on the CPU started making a clanking noise like a failing bearing after only 2 weeks of modest use. I really liked it up until now, the sound is now unbearable, and I'm guessing it's reduced the flow and can't cool the CPU as well under hard use. I don't trust it now.

Other Thoughts: It is a nice liquid cooler, but from my experience and the others that have tried this one with the same failed motor/bearings, I'll have to trash this one and try another brand. Very disappointing. One star for the failed motor on the CPU cap.

3 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock cooler, not for heavy OC

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Self contained
Easy to install
Works better than stock cooler
relatively quiet

Cons: Pricey for the performance you get. Generally speaking, a more reputable air cooler will out perform this for about the same price.
tubes are short, a little tough to route.
bolts aren't long enough to accommodate all mounting situations, they only work with very thin case material and no noise reduction bushings.
included fan is just your average cheapo fan, relatively low RPM.

Other Thoughts: Overall, not worth the retail price, but it routinely goes on sale. I wouldn't trust it to cool an overclocked CPU, but for a stock replacement with a little bit of a 'wow factor', it does the job.

5 out of 5 eggsCool

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Easy to install, directions are not great, but pictures tell it all. My CPU stays nice and cool, it works best if you have two fans with push / pull. I've had this almost a year, and still works great.

Cons: Hoses are not as flexible as I'd like. I had to use zip ties to keep the hose from pushing on the case.

Other Thoughts: The blue light that tells you it's still working is a nice feature. All I have to do is take a quick look to make sure it's still working.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud fan - not what I expected

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Better than stock cooler -- but that's why people buy after market coolers, so not really a pro but rather expected.

Cons: I made the switch to liquid cooler (after using Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual on my 5 yr old i7 build, an exellent cooler BTW), expecting it to be quieter than air coolers for the same temp ranges.

This one apparently doesn't cool any better than any air cooler (i7 4790K hovers between 65C and 70C on full load, which any good air cooler could achieve), but the fan that came with it was louder than anything else in the box (box has 3 other 120mm fans that came with the case). I had to replace the fan with another 120 mm fan I had lying around to get the sound levels to acceptable level. This is not acceptable from a cooler that is supposed to make it quieter or keep the CPU cooler.

Other Thoughts: Be prepared to add the cost of a good 70-80 CFM quiet fan into the cost equation if you are looking to get this cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps 8350 at spectacular temps

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: This thing was easy to install and keeps my 8350 at nice temps even with prime 95 running I didn't see temps over 49C in a 73-75F room. The configuration I am using pushes all heat from the radiator out of the back of the case.

The pump is practically silent and with the Thermaltake A2329 fan on it for blowing only through the radiator, no pull. The loudest part of my rig is now the video card.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Heard of issues with temps on VRM/Mosfet due to the power and temps the 8350 puts off. So far no problems running the below configuration.

MSI 970 Gaming
8GB of Mushkin Ridgeback 2133 (MemoryModel 997167R)
8350 non-overclocked
Cooler Master Seidon 120M (sealed liquid cooler)
Geforce 465 GTX
EVGA 750W Gold Plus Supernova
Areca 1224-8i (Raid card)
Mushkin 120GB Chronos for boot
Samsung Evo 120GB for game drive

Ran Prime 95 for 1.5 hours on torture test. With the 120MM fan on full blast the proc got to 49C for each core and the Mobo got to 43C. I generally run the fan at 1/2 spped and the liquid cooler is practically silent.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Overclock

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Great CPU cooler. This is the first liquid cooling system that I've bought and I got it to replace a CPU cooler that was too big for my mid ATX case (Rosewill Challenger). Was really easy to install (all the extra components for intel slots were confusing at first), especially when I watched the Cooler Master video of the AMD installation.

Overclocked my FX-8350 from it's 4ghz stock and ~12.825V to ~5ghz at 14.25V. Before overclocking I was getting really poor WoW specs for some odd reason with a powerful machine, but after overclocking, I was getting ~80FPS on WoW on Ultra high settings. Around 140FPS in unpopulated areas and never under 60fps. After about a solid week of recording temperatures and not holding back on specs and CPU usage, the highest temperature I've seen is 65.4C. Keeps it at about 20C - 25C after idling for awhile. Normally runs around 45C - 52C while gaming.

Cons: Backplate was too tight. I had to loosely attach the cooler to the bracket, and loosely attach the brackets to the back plate. The first time I installed it, because it required so much forcing, my CPU pins got bent. Took me like a day to get my computer to boot again after that, but after very carefully straightening pins with a credit card I got it working again. I recommend having someone help you hold things if you're installing on AMD. Might be a similar situation with Intel.

Other Thoughts: AMD Installation is simple. Screw the brackets onto the cooler, then screw the brackets onto the back plate and you're done!
