5 out of 5 eggsChilly cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: I'm running this on an 8 core AMD FX processor can't get it even remotely hot. I ran a stress even after an hour the highest the temps got too were 52c. The fans are very quiet and used in conjunction with ASUS fan control you can't even hear it running. not much to the install and if you've ever messed with liquid cooling in the past this is by far a breeze.

Cons: Although this is not my first liquid cooler install if you are not comfortable with building computers I would not recommend this product. The Screws that attach to the plate on the back of the mother board are spring loaded and are very stiff, I could see someone with minimal knowledge slipping with a screw driver or over tightening.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Keeps my Overclocked Intel 4670K @ 4.6ghz while playing WOW(which is cpu heavy) at max graphics with an R9 280 @ 45oC. Idle at 25oC. fans speeds i keep around 30% unless its gaming which its around 45-55%

Cons: There is a FILL Valve which is facing the pump on the radiator. I cant place it face down with pump going down in my case AT the top of the case unless i place it below the 200mm fan because of it. I can place it the other way but the way the tubes bend is a way i dont feel comfortable with.
MY case is a thermaltake v Core 71( massive case with lots of cooling options)

Other Thoughts: Had a Coolermaster hyper 212 evo with 2 JETFLO led blue fans(95CFM EACH) which kept it at 65oC while gaming and 35-40oC at idle. Very happy with it as well. it was on sale for $94 plus a $25 mail in rebate.
Other than the little issue with the fill valve, which im pretty sure is just the same with all the other AIO Liquid Coolers, is very minor. Actual product has a quality feel to it. I really like the BLUE led on the pump., goes with my Black and Blue theme.

1 out of 5 eggsPump Not Working Fan makes Noise

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: .

Cons: I purchased the coolermaster seidon 240mm water cooler two days ago and got it in the mail today, after installing and over 4 hours of figuring out on how to install it the pump does NOT work and one of the fans makes a very odd and loud buzzing noise. I own a maximus vi formula motherboard along with an i7 4770k processor. Everytime i started up my computer with this cooler my computer said there was a cpu fan error. It had also said my cpu was overheating and i was getting temps above 75c IDLE. I applied thermal paste and also tried plugging the fan and pump into many different inputs.
Is there something wrong with my model or am i not doing something right??????

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Install

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Assured fit with the Coolermaster HAF XM tower for my new build. Bolted right up no problem and attaching the giant copper heat plate to my MB was a breeze. My first watercooled rig.

Small socket provided to assist in attachment of the Cooler standoffs.

Prefilled

Price was right with a rebate compared to the higher end air coolers I looked over.

Cons: I'll always worry about the possibility of a leak.

In some circumstances you might want a cooler where you can route lines thru a case and have to fill it with coolant later. This cooler being fully assembled means you don't have a whole lot of play in positioning.

Other Thoughts: my i5 is always running too hot since it's oc'd to the danger zone most of the time. This cooler could absorb anything I tossed at it and CPU temp rarely hit 50. Easier to clean then a straight CPU cooler as the radiator is accessible from the top panel of the case. Nice setup.

I have cats and fur has always been a problem, it seems to get in everything. The air cooler for my i5 needs monthly dust off treatments. We'll see how much ends up in the radiator.

1 out of 5 eggsMissing Screw on retention plate

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: It looks great and is large for adequate cooling

Cons: -one of the retention plates which are supposed to have attached scews (which are practically impossible to take off) are missing.
-cooler master has no online tech support on their website
-You have to make an account to email coolermaster
- the phone phone number they have listed anywhere is in china and the number doesnt work.

Other Thoughts: junk retention bracket that fell appart in the manufacturing process and nobody caught it. Parts were no where to be found in the box and there are no spare screws. Also the Intel and AMD brackets have different screws, so I can't even take one appart to put on another.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello duon l,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Seidon 240m. It is true that you will have to create an account on CM Fanzone in order to use our live chat or to submit a ticket. You would have to do this anyway though as our part request and RMA system are also through CM Fanzone.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing deal on an amazing cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: +idles at 18-21°C
+under load at 40°C to 48°C (previously I was at 65°-70°)
+Very nice price (approx.$75 after rebate)
+a lot quiter than I had anticipated
+comes with tools needed to install, is straightforward

Cons: -Setup can be somewhat a pain
-Radiator is somewhat large and clunky (be sure case can fit)
-Best method is push/pull for this beast (so needing 2+ fans)
-The stock CM fans it comes with are slightly noisier than my Noctua fans.

Other Thoughts: I was originally planning to purchase the Kraken X60 ($120) but this was an ad special and the reviews I had read put it just behind the X60 by a small margin. Being $45.00 cheaper than the X60 and only losing a few degrees on the benchmark, I couldn't pass up this deal.

The Installation was fairly straightforward and although a manual isn't needed I have read about people placing fans the wrong direction.

Fans! The best configuration for this massive radiator build is a push-pull method (2fans on each side of the rad), sucking in air and pushing it out the opposite end. This isn't needed but is recommended for maximum cooling performance.

I unfortunately could not fit all 4x fans in my case to assist the Seidon 240m, as I have an Haf XB Evo modular case paired with a GTX 680 4gb Classic. When everything was fully installed the GPU was 7milometers short of fitting. As to not press my GPU against the fan I than preceded to take 1 of the 2 fans out blocking the PCI-E slots and than moved the fan to a open fan slot in my case (which now has 8-fans).

Coming from a Noctua NH-D14 cooler (one of the best air-coolers) I can say I am glad with this purchase, and would purchase another Cooler Master product anytime as they have proven once again why I use them in my builds.

Case: Cooler Master Haf XB Evo
GPU: Evga GTX680 Classified 4gb
Mobo: Asus z97-a
CPU: 4790k (4ghz)
Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 240m
Ram: 8gb G.skill Ripjaws
HDD/SDD: WD Cav.Black 1TB / Samsung 840m

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: I bought a Corsair H100i two years ago and although I was very happy with it, I decided to try Cooler Master's 240M. Attaching the heat exchange block to the CPU was easier and the parts seemed to fit better than the Corsair's. That's the end of the pros.

Cons: The radiator is smaller than the H100's and its two fans much louder. To cool as well as the H100, I removed Cooler Masters two fans and put 4 Cougar Vortex in a push pull configuration - and now I'm happy. But that was an extra $60 !

Other Thoughts: At less than half the price, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO heat pipe cooler does a better job cooling than this water cooler with its two fans.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello EDWARD C,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing with the Seidon 240m. Looking at the radiator dimensions for both coolers, they are almost identical(273 x 120 x 27 mm VS. 275mm x 120mm x 27mm)

Also, I apologize that you are not happy with our fans but they do push a higher CFM than our competitors so I am not sure why it is not cooling as well.

Please contact us for further trouble shooting.

4 out of 5 eggsonly just built

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: good reviews - just listing some cautions. Takes torque off the mobo since it's not just a regular CPU cooler

Cons: Won't fit with fans inside my case because the assembly is too thick. Need to mount fans outside because the top edge of the RAM gets in the way. Might have gone with a smaller one-fan cooler if I had known. Too easily stripped a screw hole in the radiator. Took no work at all on that one corner to strip it.

4 out of 5 eggsKeeping cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Good quality pump-integrated water block. Easy to mount. Thermal grease tube included (I used Arctic Silver instead).

Included fans are PWM controlled and run quietly, and include a splitter to run them both off one PWM.

Cons: You might need to add a washer to get a snug fit when screwing the fans onto the radiator - screws are maybe a hair too long.

Other Thoughts: Plenty of cooling power for AMD FX-9370 or other high power CPUs
