5 out of 5 eggsInstalled for client

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Works great, can't hear it from beside clients desk. If you've installed a 212, this one's pretty similar.

Cons: You may want to buy thermal paste separately, it comes with a packet of it but I couldn't tell what brand and/or quality.

4 out of 5 eggsBig Cooler, little price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Huge heat pipes, great build quality, all mounting options included, fan uses 4 pin header, moves a ton of air, even includes the mounts to put on a second fan if desired, improved temps by ~15 degrees at idle over the stock AMD cooler and can keep up with light to moderate overclocks with ease. I have not tried any extreme overclocks yet to push its limits of cooling (probably want to grab a second fan for that)

Cons: Big, I mean really big. It worked for me since I had a case with a bump out on the side panel. Must use low profile ram on most motherboards with this (thank goodness I ordered low profile on this build to begin with). On the Asrock 970 Pro3 v2 mobo, one heat pipe nearly touches the heat spreader on my ram in the a1 dimm slot.

Other Thoughts: The heatsink/fan holds itself up really well considering its massive girth, and it performs extremely well. I cannot recommend this due to its size and limited applicability. This is a great cooler for performance and included kit at this price point; just way too big for most systems.

4 out of 5 eggsBig, Big Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: 120mm fan, massive heat pipes, mounting for second fan included, included fan utilizes the CPU fan header with full 4 pin connector; includes all mounting hardware needed for current generation sockets of both AMD and Intel.

Cons: Really, Really Big. If my case didn't have raised side panels it would not have fit.

Other Thoughts: This thing is a great big giant tank of a cooler. Build quality is superb for the price point. Included fan moves more air than my case fan and they even included the mounting brackets to add a second fan to this monster. This is going to be a tight fit in all but the most thoughtful cases, but worth it. Idle temps almost 20 degrees cooler than the stock fan/heatsink from AMD. Fan mount is snug and secure, but also easily removed to make it possible to reach most places around the motherboard without fully pulling the heatsink.

Would I purchase this again - probably not, but only because the only performance upgrade to this would be a Noctua or a Water cooler; I will be using this as long as I can, and definitely save this for use on my next test bench build.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Probably not, too big for anything in a normal sized case, and a bit more cooling performance than needed for most budget builds.

This is a fantastic cooler with all of the options and quality of top tier coolers at a value cooler price...just WAAAAY too big for a 5 star rating

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Easy to install and a 4-pin plug to attach to motherboard cpu fan controller. Efficient and quiet.

Cons: Requires a LARGE case to install. Will not fit in a minimal size case. Mine is in an old Antec Sonata II.

Other Thoughts: An excellent cpu cooler if it will fit in your case.

5 out of 5 eggsRead the instructions first.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great cooler, super easy installation on an AMD 3+, just clips in place. Don't waste your time removing the motherboard like I did. Fan position is 90 degs from the heat sink mounting tabs. Set mine to blow toward the top of the case and into the 120 mm case and PSU exhaust fans.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As usual the heat dissipation fins can be sharp.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD A-10 APU COOLING

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: steller performace., I only go hyper 212 or cooler master t-4. my amd a-10 7850k never has hit over 40c and idles at 22c prime 95 45c after 1 hour

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: get it for $27.00 while new egg had it for 27.00 other vendors are in the 50.00 ranges on the new egg website. the cm t-4 is already Amd optimized to replace stock Amd cooler. 2 miniute install just get it the price its good insurance

2 out of 5 eggsNot for AMD

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I used the 120mm fan on my Rosewill challenger case to help cool the CPU.

Cons: DOES NOT fit properly on AM3+ socket. The heat from the cooler blew directly on my graphics card and It covered 2 of my RAM slots on my Asrock 970 extreme 3. Not to mention it made very little difference compared to the stock cooler of my AMD FX 8350.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with our cooler. Would you be able to contact us? We would like troubleshoot with you and rectify the situation.

Respectfully,

CMUSA Support.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice CPU Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: quiet, cools very well, mounts on existing hardware without taking motherboard from case.

Cons: Fan can only face up or down on AM3 so if you are looking to force air front to back that is not an option.

Other Thoughts: I also use the Cooler Master T6 and T3...The T4 cools about as well as the much more costly T6 without using the space the T6 requires. Very good product and much more economical.

3 out of 5 eggsNo AMD bracket

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This cooler works well and is a good size.

Cons: It doesn't come with an AMD bracket, but fits the stock AMD bracket. Problem is, their engineers apparently thought the stock AMD bracket was clocked 90 degrees off from what it is. The instructions in the manual are wrong. The only way to install this on an AMD board, is turned 90 degrees. That is, the CPU exhausts out the top of the case, instead of the back.

1 out of 5 eggsdoesn't fit am3+ mobos

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: it was cheap, got it for $25, only reason i didnt get the 212 over this

Cons: THE MOUNT DOES NOT FIT, it will only face horizontally but NOT vertically, and when you try to put it horizontally the aluminum fins will hit your ram, causing it to not being able to fit at all

Other Thoughts: always read the negative reviews

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We are sorry to hear you had trouble with our cooler. The cooler in question mounts/fits onto am3+ motherboards. It is fully compatible with standard memory which is 35mm tall. Unfortunately it is not compatible with tall memory (35mm+). If you have any questions regarding any product and their compatibility, please give us a call or send an online ticket, we would be more than happy to help out
