5 out of 5 eggsSilent Victory

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: [] Easy to install for AMD socket. No need to remove backplate.
[] Fits in tight places... at least in my budget midtower case, it just cleared the side panel.
[] Excellent cooling, without the HSF whine.

Cons: * None so far

Other Thoughts: Running an AMD A8-5600K APU. (100 W TDP)
=> Stock cooler whined and CPU hit over 58C (Smartfan) under full load.
=> T4 : idles 36C, and maxed out at 47C (Smartfan) under full load (100% CPU).
(Currently running a Home theater TV application, Google Chrome (22 tabs open), YouTube, various other windows, and CPU registers 41C)

Even though it may not have the highest cooling capacity of other models, it is far easier to install and the performance is satisfactory.
And it is a marked improvement over the stock HSF.

Very pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT VALUE

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: GREAT COOLER for the money not too bad to install either and believe you can add a fan if need be .This cooler is slightly lower version of the 212

Cons: its big so this is not going to fit small cases but did l mention it works really well for the money?

Other Thoughts: as said earlier lower version of the 212 ,great bang for the buck!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Keeps my CPU cool. I was able to get a stable and cool OC with my AMD FX-4100 to 4.4GHz from 3.6 (MoBo: Asus M5A99X Evo). Fits my NZXT Gamma Classic case perfectly.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler, fantastic value

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Installed easily in my son's 4 year old Rosewill Challenger mid-ATX case w/ Phenom II X2 555 and Asus mobo.
Substituted Arctic Silver 5 paste for the included thermal paste.
Form factor is slightly smaller than Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, but equally effective cooling power. This T4 cooler will fit in cases that are just too small for the Hyper 212 Evo.
Price was good, shipping was fast.
No need to access back of mobo during installation which meant I didn't have to remove mobo from case. Just used the existing hardware that was already on mobo and ratcheted it down.
Airflow is up/down instead of sideways in my case (due to AMD CPU) but that's okay because hot air from CPU is vented out the top through a fan installed at the top of the case.
Cooler Master is the #1 brand name for me when it comes to CPU coolers.
Able to overclock the CPU from 3.2 to 3.54 GHz w/ the T4 cooler installed. No problems at all.

Cons: Um, it wasn't free? LOL

Other Thoughts: Instructions are printed in very small fonts so it's hard for us older DIY'ers to see (I'm 54). But I scanned the instructions into a PDF file using my scanner and then increased the magnification by 200% on my laptop so no need to subtract any eggs for the small print.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Does an excellent job, low cost, very quiet, great temps.

Cons: 1/4 inch too tall. DO NOT TRY TO FIT THIS IS A 4U CASE. I bought it to put in a 4U rackmount, didn't work.. You will be scratching the top of the case. You will need a 5U case to make it fit without touching the top.

Other Thoughts: It was only about 1/4 inch too big for what I needed. I ended up buying a different item to make it work, But I kept it and put it somewhere else it could fit since it does a great job for the cost.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure where this fits in the market

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Decent cooling performance, very low cost, supports push pull configuration, install on AMD is pretty straightforward.

Cons: Horizontal on AMD CPU only, no Motherboard mount for AMD CPU included, CPU block bottom not flush, see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Considering its size, the performance does not meet expectations. Considering the price, it does. However, many other smaller CPU coolers do as well. If you have an AMD CPU you have to get low profile ram (no extended heatsinks) or only install two sticks. To be honest this doesn't open up any real overclocking room, but likely at this price point your not thinking of doing that any way. Get a smaller cooler if this is what your looking at. They cost the same, sound the same, and most importantly, they do the job and are easier to install with out worrying about the size. Also, be sure your case vent out the top as well for AMD CPU's or this cant do the job right. Which brings me to my point, why so big if not for overclocking, sure is quiet, but so is my Zalman that works just as well, costs the same, and is 5x smaller. Go with the Hyper 212 evo for 5 dollars more, it fits better, installs the same, and has far better performance.

5 out of 5 eggsVery great cooler for just about any CPU

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This thing is so quiet, I can not hear it at all. Temps never go over 60c on a 95 watt CPU under full load even during summer where it easily reaches over 38c outside.

I chose this over the T4 because it was on a special deal while the 212 evo was not at the time.

This cooler includes thermal paste, brackets to add a second fan and of course the very sturdy mounting hardware with easy to follow instructions.

Cons: None I can think of

Other Thoughts: Cools down a Core i5 2500 (non k)
