5 out of 5 eggsVery nice CPU Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: quiet, cools very well, mounts on existing hardware without taking motherboard from case.

Cons: Fan can only face up or down on AM3 so if you are looking to force air front to back that is not an option.

Other Thoughts: I also use the Cooler Master T6 and T3...The T4 cools about as well as the much more costly T6 without using the space the T6 requires. Very good product and much more economical.

3 out of 5 eggsNo AMD bracket

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This cooler works well and is a good size.

Cons: It doesn't come with an AMD bracket, but fits the stock AMD bracket. Problem is, their engineers apparently thought the stock AMD bracket was clocked 90 degrees off from what it is. The instructions in the manual are wrong. The only way to install this on an AMD board, is turned 90 degrees. That is, the CPU exhausts out the top of the case, instead of the back.

1 out of 5 eggsdoesn't fit am3+ mobos

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: it was cheap, got it for $25, only reason i didnt get the 212 over this

Cons: THE MOUNT DOES NOT FIT, it will only face horizontally but NOT vertically, and when you try to put it horizontally the aluminum fins will hit your ram, causing it to not being able to fit at all

Other Thoughts: always read the negative reviews

5 out of 5 eggsColder than my Fridge

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This CPU cooler has significantly decreased my temperatures compared to my stock CPU cooler while not adding a noticeable sound difference. From my stock fan, I would get 28 degree Celsius at boot but not with this Hyper T4, the CPU barely goes over 30 degrees Celsius during heavy load and gaming. At idle and light load, I get an average of 8.6 degrees Celsius (using the program HWiNFO to track my temps). It fits perfectly in my Corsair 200r case and the pre-installed fan on the heat sink was convenient and reduced the time for installation.

Cons: The installation process was quite a hassle because the back plate did not fit in my FM2+ motherboard so that part was useless. I kept trying to configure the screws to fit the holes on the back of my motherboard but nothing worked. This lead me to believe the cooler was not going to fit on my CPU but I have read many reviews that it does work for FM2+ motherboard. Instead of using Cooler Master's back plate, I used my stock back plate and simply attached the CPU cooler with the given retention mechanism and it worked flawlessly. Although it took me a longer time to install the CPU cooler than expected, I am not docking an egg because the performance is just phenomenal.

Other Thoughts: I have an AMD Athlon x4 FM2+ Socket CPU. Shipping was extremely fast and came within 3-business days and it was originally predicted to come within 4-7 business days. I have the fan of the cooler facing upwards because of my motherboard and CPU socket, I cannot have it blowing out the back vent as originally planned.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is an awesome cooler. My CPU temps never get above 45 degrees Celsius while playing Gmod, portal 2 and minecraft. I would by this again for AMD build.

Cons: I could only mount in taking air in from the top and blowing it down or vice versa

Other Thoughts: Great for any build (especially AMD builds)

4 out of 5 eggsHyper T4

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: - Keeps an A10-7850K nice and cool
- Quiet performance
- Easy to install

Cons: - Not necessarily compatible with FM2 socket

Other Thoughts: This is a good cooler, especially for the price. It keeps an overclocked A10-7850K at around 60 degrees under full load. And under full load, it is still beautifully quiet. The cooler is rather easy to install, even on an FM2 socket, which is not really supported. Mounting this cooling on an FM2 socket requires that it be placed 90 degrees from standard mounting position. This does lead to two of the RAM slots being blocked, but in my case, that was not a big deal. I do believe that a mounting plate for a 212 EVO can be used to get one of these to sit at the proper orientation if desired.

Overall, this is a good cooler, especially for the price. Just keep in mind the socket limitations and compatibility.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Heatsink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Quality feels high
-Four Heat pipes with Direct CPU contact
-Comes with bracket to add 2nd fan for push pull configuration.
-Size is rather large, but fit in a Cooler Master 431 with no issues
-Cools significantly better than stock Intel cooler

Cons: -Dislike the AMD style bracket it made.

Other Thoughts: I swapped out the fan with one that had blue leds just for looks.

3 out of 5 eggsModified Heat Sink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great heat Sink great FAN But !! For a AMD FX 8350 and GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 and G-skill ram the copper pipe hit the ram !! :(

Cons: But I could not fined any one that had a fix for this ever one just get the EVO 212 well Thats not going to work for me so I cut 1 tube off and pushed it in side the box and IT work perfect NOW !! Why didn't Cooler MAster engineers this out !!

Other Thoughts: it would be great CPU fan and Coolmaster would sell more of them if the fix one heat pipe that hit the ram . Toback I just voided the warranty

4 out of 5 eggsCareful with AMD mount

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: My AMD FX8320 is pushed from 3.5 to 4.4 and even running Prime64, my CPU never hits more than 54c. It is large but my Gigabyte 990FXA ànd Define R4 windowed case welcomed it with open arms.

Cons: You can only mount this blowing air up or down on an AMD CPU. With my case the PSU is on the bottom and the topmost case fan is slightly below this. I chose to blow air up so as not to blow hot air on the Northbridge which already runs hot on this MB.

Other Thoughts: I am from the old days of overclocking. CPU and cooler lapping, so many case fans you had to bolt your PC to the floor for fear it was going to migrate south, put it in a sound proof room, etc. Overclocking this 8320 was a breeze in comparison with this cooling setup.

Define R4 windowed case
Gigabyte 990FXA
AMD 8320
16 gigs Ballistix
Rosewill 700watt PSU
Intel 480gb SSD
4 drives (2x2tb, 2x3tb)
3 6" case fans, mini fan on Northbridge

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is my first aftermarket cpu fan that I have installed, it's a tight fit in my NZXT Phantom case (with 230mm side fan) but I managed to make it work. Instructions were fairly simple and when I got it installed, took my cpu down from around 35°C to a constant 28°C. I am very happy with this fan so far.

Cons: None at the moment.
