COOLER MASTER TPC 812

TPC 812 is the first CPU cooler to utilize vertical vapor chambers in conjunction with heatpipes to enhance cooling performance. With the two technologies working in tandem, TPC 812 is ready to handle the massive heat released by your processor during intensive tasks such as overclocking and benchmarking. A specially designed aluminum fin structure and fan mounting bracket makes TPC 812 an excellent thermal solution that is both effective and easy to work with.

VERTICAL VAPOR CHAMBER TECHNOLOGY

RAPID HEAT TRANSFER AND DISSIPATION

TPC 812 is the first CPU cooler to combine vertical vapor chambers with the time-tested effectiveness of traditional heatpipes. The synergy between the two cooling methods provide accelerated thermal transfer and heat dissipation.

Vapor chambers house a special coolant that changes from a liquid to gas when heated. The vaporized coolant then condenses on cold surfaces such as the aluminum fins where thermal transfer and dissipation quickly occurs.

NICKEL PLATED, POLISHED COPPER BASE

SPECIAL ALUMINUM FIN STRUCTURE

The natural ability of copper to effectively transfer heat is fully utilized in TPC 812 as it features a 100%, pure polished copper base to maximize thermal transfer between the CPU and cooler.

The TPC 812 fin structure is laid out in a special way to ensure concentrated intake and delivery of cool air directly to the heatsink area.

5 out of 5 eggsCM TPC 812 + CM 912 HAF Case

Pros: Worked wonderfully with the CM 912 Haf case I have. Went in easy and looks great. Runs quietly. Keeping the pc really cool.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this even if you are not overclocking. Its a flawless cooling solution. CM is the best.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied with Functionality to Start (Review 2)

Pros: 1. Keeps my I-4770 k (no overclock yet) at about 68, in a warm room, while running Prime95 stress test. Max I saw was 75 on one core. Used in conjunction with ARCTIC MX-2
2. Had concerns that a fan wouldn't fit over ram, but it fit (may be touching) with G.Skill Sniper Series. I've yet to get a second fan, but the airflow in my case and the way I mounted the fan made it easiest just to put it on top of the ram.
3. Fan mounting brackets are easy to install. They unclip rather easily but seem firm once clipped.

Cons: So far so good, can't complain. Only will add a new review if I find reason to.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good.

Pros: This thing seems sturdy as can be. It was bigger than expected but fit OH SO NICELY in my Rosewill ARMOR-EVO Gaming E-ATX Mid Tower I bought.

Cons: 0. (Possible con, not for me) Gibignormous.
1. Felt like I needed 3 hands at a point or two but I managed.
2. The directions were a must for me.
3. This only has one fan on it but came with brackets for a second. I probably won't use a second because it would block a memory slot on my ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I haven't got my computer up and running because I'm waiting for a high end ram sale (Keep on wishing me). I'll update this to 5 stars if it works well.

5 out of 5 eggsHUGE

Pros: It keeps my FX-8350 cool. Have not seen temps above mid to high 40c temp when play PC games from World of Warcarft to Battlefield 4.

Cons: The fan works but looks cheap. Only can set fan on bottom or top on AMD platforms

5 out of 5 eggsNear Perfect

Pros: Excellent cooling capacity, most stock CPUs will be cooled near silent, packaging is nice, build quality is great.

Cons: Size, only comes with one fan. Not a fan of the chrome covered plastic beauty caps for the heat pipes. But i

You must plan for the size of this thing or you wont be happy!

Other Thoughts: Phenom 955 @ 4.1ghz, 1.5v - 58C
Asus Crosshair V
Corsair Dominator 16gb
Rosewill Blackhawk Case

I purchased this because I had a Corsair H60 fail on me. I decided I wanted something that I could just replace a fan if that failed, or even run it as a passive (downclocked cpu of course) if need be.

Just barely fits inside the Rosewill Blackhawk Case!

I also mounted this unit with air flow going vertical instead of horizontal. This way if the fans (i added a 2nd fan) fails, convection should help keep it cool-ish. This should also work better for the heatpipes, as they can be sensitive to gravity (not proven with this particular unit)

It does have problems clearing the Dominator ram sticks I have, I removed the top heat sinks from the ram and the unit fit. It is also worth noting that you can mount the fan higher up on the heatsink if you need too. This might expose parts of the fan to open air, but you will gain some clearance.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This thing is massive. When I first took it out of the box I had reservations on whether or not it would fit in my Corsair Carbide Series 500R case. Luckily it did with room to spare. It keeps my CPU around 82-85°F.

Cons: The instructions were not the greatest but if you've installed coolers you can figure it out pretty easily.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned above this thing is massive. Definitely check your dimensions before purchasing. Also if you use high profile RAM you can't use the dual fan configuration. As it is you have to mount the fan on the opposite side of the RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsRidiculously Huge

Pros: *Lots and lots of cooling
*Comes with foam vibration padding (didn't use cause instructions didn't say anything about them their listed as part k but part k is never mentioned when mounting it so i had no clue as to where i would put them as a first time builder)
*Fans easy to pop off snap back on to get cooling on the side you need which makes it impossible to get the facing wrong just make sure your ram is in first!

Cons: *Poor instructions but I managed and dealt with it only took like 40 or some minutes.. yeah they were that confusing and hard especially when your trying to figure out where some parts should go when they aren't even mention in the mounting process but you have them!

Other Thoughts: Did I mention its freaking huge? weighs a ton too my MB was light as a feather dropped this bad boy in it and it felt was like holding a lopsided rock

5 out of 5 eggsworks really well

Pros: I have to highlight the fact that you need to make sure it fits your case. my new case Rosewill Blackhawk clears this by 1/2 inch, after I removed the side panel fan. My old case was a little smaller Cougar Solution, I didn't try it on but I guarantee you it will not fit. I use this on a fx 9590 and it seems to never go over 44 c on bf3 ultra settings. idles my cpu at around 20-25c. comes with brackets for additional fan to configure push/pull. I haven't used this but I'm sure it will drop couple degrees. It's relatively quiet but my other fans are loud, so I cant tell you how quiet it is for sure

Cons: it will block 2 ram slots closest to the cpu if you use fancy heatsink ones, but not if you used regular ram without heatsink, or low profile ram

Other Thoughts: just out of curiouslity I decided to see if my old ram will fit the slots. it doesn't have any heatsinks and with a slight effort it went right in and room to spare above it. prolly 1/2 inch,
In my setup I used balistix sport VLP and regular crucial balistix sport and all those fit. If you have the fanciest and biggest heatsinks on your ram don't even think about this cpu cooler. and don't waste your time to give negative feedback about it. This would be your fault..
If you are not ready to go water cooling yet, this is about as close as you will get on air only.
