4 out of 5 eggsLasted almost two years (the warranty period)

Pros: Worked for a while, not terribly pricey.

Cons: Failed after 22 months. It has a two year warranty, but I don't yet know how it'll be handled. Meanwhile, my computer is down until I replace it, so it may just be a write-off.

1 out of 5 eggsFan failure three times in Avatar Computer

Pros: None

Cons: I've had three cooling fans die on the cpu in the Avatar Computer which means the machine shuts down - you can't rely on it. The third fan lasted barely six weeks. The environment for the computer is super clean but bearings fail and temps skyrocket shutting the machine down. Trying to get a replacement fan on the first failure was difficult - I had to purchase one from New Egg because it was past the first 30 days. It took three weeks to get through to Cooling Master to a real person. That fan direct from the Company is the third fan that just failed. The whole situation dealing with support with both companies made me look at other suppliers.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could find a reliable CPU fan alternative!

3 out of 5 eggsEntry Level CPU Cooler

Pros: Cheap inexpensive fan.

Cons: In less than two months of ownership it appears the ball bearings in this fan has failed as turning on the computer sounds like firing up a lawnmower. I am not sure how such a newly purchased product would fail like this but I am disappointed as I have used CoolerMaster products before with much success.

Other Thoughts: Hoping I can get a replacement in a fairly timely matter as this is a very important PC and these types of fans are hard to find.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with our cooler. We can definitely get that fan replaced. Would you be able to contact us so we can rectify the situation?

Respectfully,

CMUSA Support.

5 out of 5 eggsstandard CPU cooler

Pros: 1) Affordable
2) Decent airflow
3) Allows super light overclocking

Cons: Average CFM

Other Thoughts: This is a standard CPU heatsink and fan. I have had some success doing some light overclocking with this cooler. I recommend this for entry level gaming PC builds.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for higher end cpus

Pros: Fine for weaker cpus
High fan rpm

Cons: For a higher end cpu, this does not work well at all. For my AMD FX 8350, this was worse than my stock fan. You are fine if you have a weaker cpu, but go for something bigger if you have a bigger cpu.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello WILLIAM D,

We apologize for the trouble that you are experiencing wiht the DK9 CPU cooler. This cooler is more of a direct replacement for a stock cpu cooler and not intended for use with high end CPU's.

I would suggest looking at our Hyper 212 EVO for your FX8350.

Please contact us if you have any more questions.

5 out of 5 eggsFor a small fan acutally gets the job done!

Pros: Much better than my old 70mm heatsink and not as loud.

Cons: None!
