5 out of 5 eggsBest Cooler yet

Pros: keeps cpu cooler by 25 degrees from last unit.

Cons: size. this thing i huge. fits nicely in full tower with asus p6t7 mobo. ram clearance may be tight depending on ram fin height. clears corsair dominator ram.

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V8 GTS

Pros: Very high quality
Does a very good job at keeping the processor cool - Best you can get short of water cooling or another huge tower heatsink

Cons: Size - This thing is super hard to screw down onto a motherboard such as the ASUS MAXIMUS VII Formula. It also slightly covers my DIMM slot and it's very close to my top expansion slot. I can still use both. The memory will have to be low-profile.

Heavy. Get a sturdy motherboard if you plan on purchasing this.

Other Thoughts: Nice Red LEDs. Looks like Optimus Prime's head.

5 out of 5 eggskey component to unlocking portal to other dimension

Pros: upon installing and firing up the computer a portal to another dimension opened up. although originally skeptical of its V8 power i now see the full capability of the product. i am easily able to transverse dimensions with ease and very low power comsumption.

Cons: directions had no warnings of portal effects.

Other Thoughts: keep lightsaber close upon install , things will get crazy fast.

5 out of 5 eggsCool and Quiet!

Pros: Installation was quite straightforward - good documentation with fairly detailed illustrations. This thing keeps my processor about 10 degrees cooler than the old model (which died due to too much dust after about 3-4 years). I'm excited to see if this one really holds up as well as it claims against dust.

Cons: If you can't easily remove your motherboard, it could be a pain to install this. Just like the previous model, there is heavy duty mounting hardware on both sides of the board. My case allows you to remove the MB with the cooler in place (or it would) if this thing wasn't so large. Had to leave the MB slide in place and screw the board in inside the case, but I had more than enough room for it in my Lian Li Mid sized tower.

Other Thoughts: I didn't look too closely, but there are 3 cables that attach to the power connector... I'm wondering if one of them would allow you to kill the LEDs for those of us who run in darkness. Not an issue for me since I close it up inside a windowless case.

4 out of 5 eggsCM v8 GTS

Pros: Great looking cooler, fits well with a black/red theme such as with the CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced, good cooling at max load.

Cons: It is so difficult to install. I mean this thing is a beast, at least the size of a softball. Watch a video of someone installing this thing before you even buy it, just to be aware of what you're in for. Also, the radiator fins are VERY sharp. I cut my thumb open during the install. Only reason that I docked an egg is because it bled me. Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!

Other Thoughts: The install was rough, but I am so well pleased with the way that it looks and it's ability to cool my system. Before I bought this and some quality fans, I was hitting the mid 80's on my CPU temps under max load. Now, my CPU barely ever sees the low 60's. It definitely does it's job. If you're only after cooling, probably other solutions are better...as in cheaper and less difficult to install. However, if you want the looks too...you can't go wrong with a V8.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it, but it's so big

Pros: Very good looking, Excellent for non watercooling solution. nice and quiet. even though it's big the Gskill ripjaws ram still fit without trouble.

Cons: HUGE. easily the biggest heatsink i've ever used. fan on the case door had to be modified with a grinder to be able to close the case with this beast in place and I have a 12 drive bay supertower.

Other Thoughts: Basically it's bragging rights you can probably get heatsink that will do about as well for a lot less. but if you were making a showpiece like I did. it's the way to go.

3 out of 5 eggsDo not buy unless you have a BIG case

Pros: It looks awesome and goes great with the style of my computer. It also cools really well and is really quiet. I use an Enermax Coenus case, and it fits the style beautifully.

Cons: As everyone else is saying, it is HUGE. It gets in the way of everything. I was able to get it to fit inside an Enermax Coenus (Mid-tower), but it was an incredible pain to do so, and I have no intention of ever trying it again. For example, there was extremely little clearance between the heatsink and the top of the case, making the CPU power connectors extremely difficult to attach, as well as leaving very little clearance with the RAM and the video card.

Other Thoughts: It's great if you have a big full tower case with lots of room to maneuver, but for anything smaller, go with something else, perhaps liquid cooling, instead.

2 out of 5 eggsCooletr Master V8 GTS

Pros: Can not comment. Unable to test.

Cons: 1) It is huge and heavy. It would not physically fir an ASUS A88XM-E motherboard. It hits the memory. (G. Skill Ripjaws 2x2GB). Wasn't even close. You need considerable space between the edge of the CPU socket and the memory slots. In my set-up it needed and additional 3/4".
2) The weight is also high. You better have a motherboard + case set-up that keeps the motherboard horizontal. I didn't test mine, but just feeling it, I feared it could peel the socket from the board because of the lever arm twist on the socket.
3) The quality of the critical heat exchange surface was poor. It wasn't very smooth. I would consider the plating poor quality. It is possible I'm certain, to plate nickel on copper and get a mirror smooth finish which is what you need here. This job was far from decent quality.

Other Thoughts: Newegg stands by their decent return policy and did take it back. But keep in mind they charge a re-stocking fee, plus you have to pay return shipping. Cost $30 to have a look at it. Wasn't worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsMy CPU's complimentary fan does not compete

Pros: It's very large and intimidating to most. The fans are quiet haven't put a heavy load on the processor, so no revving as far as I know.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V8 gts

Pros: got this cpu cooler for two reasons, two have bragging rights for saying " yeah, i have a v8 in my computer" and for it to match the red led lighting in my nzxt phantom 820 black, and i can say it gets the job done pretty well except for a couple of cons

Cons: it gets a bit loud at heavy loads i.e space engineers with a big ship loaded into the world but that's just my perspective, i mean you wouldn't even be able to hear it with headphones on while playing a game

Other Thoughts: this is a "gets the job done" cooler with nice effects and keeps the cpu at a nice temp but could've used some quieter fans
