3 out of 5 eggsDo not buy unless you have a BIG case

Pros: It looks awesome and goes great with the style of my computer. It also cools really well and is really quiet. I use an Enermax Coenus case, and it fits the style beautifully.

Cons: As everyone else is saying, it is HUGE. It gets in the way of everything. I was able to get it to fit inside an Enermax Coenus (Mid-tower), but it was an incredible pain to do so, and I have no intention of ever trying it again. For example, there was extremely little clearance between the heatsink and the top of the case, making the CPU power connectors extremely difficult to attach, as well as leaving very little clearance with the RAM and the video card.

Other Thoughts: It's great if you have a big full tower case with lots of room to maneuver, but for anything smaller, go with something else, perhaps liquid cooling, instead.

2 out of 5 eggsCooletr Master V8 GTS

Pros: Can not comment. Unable to test.

Cons: 1) It is huge and heavy. It would not physically fir an ASUS A88XM-E motherboard. It hits the memory. (G. Skill Ripjaws 2x2GB). Wasn't even close. You need considerable space between the edge of the CPU socket and the memory slots. In my set-up it needed and additional 3/4".
2) The weight is also high. You better have a motherboard + case set-up that keeps the motherboard horizontal. I didn't test mine, but just feeling it, I feared it could peel the socket from the board because of the lever arm twist on the socket.
3) The quality of the critical heat exchange surface was poor. It wasn't very smooth. I would consider the plating poor quality. It is possible I'm certain, to plate nickel on copper and get a mirror smooth finish which is what you need here. This job was far from decent quality.

Other Thoughts: Newegg stands by their decent return policy and did take it back. But keep in mind they charge a re-stocking fee, plus you have to pay return shipping. Cost $30 to have a look at it. Wasn't worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsMy CPU's complimentary fan does not compete

Pros: It's very large and intimidating to most. The fans are quiet haven't put a heavy load on the processor, so no revving as far as I know.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V8 gts

Pros: got this cpu cooler for two reasons, two have bragging rights for saying " yeah, i have a v8 in my computer" and for it to match the red led lighting in my nzxt phantom 820 black, and i can say it gets the job done pretty well except for a couple of cons

Cons: it gets a bit loud at heavy loads i.e space engineers with a big ship loaded into the world but that's just my perspective, i mean you wouldn't even be able to hear it with headphones on while playing a game

Other Thoughts: this is a "gets the job done" cooler with nice effects and keeps the cpu at a nice temp but could've used some quieter fans

5 out of 5 eggsBest Large CPU Cooler so far

Pros: Sleek looks, great cooling performance, can be used as a boat anchor (its heavy) but will make your case feel like a super computer on steroids. Why? Because this thing with all its might can and will keep your overclocked CPU nice and cool.

NZXT Phantom 530 white ATX full tower case with window plus 8 case fans which are 3-200mm, 3-140mm, 2-120 respectfully.
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2 Gen3.0
AMD FX-8350 overclocked stable 4.5 with Prime 95 over 1 hour(some say give it 8 hours-meh-if after an hour of brutal torture I figure it works for me)
AMD Radeon RG2133 gamer series DDR 3 16 gigs

Average idle overclocked temps is 31 degrees Celsius
Average overclocked temps under Prime 95 is 57 degrees Celsius. Bare in mind though I completely filled my case with fans apart from the internal set that comes with this Awesome Cooler Master V8 GTS

Loud? Not the least bit even with all the fans as it is still very quiet on par with other systems.

Had it since November of 2013 still works hard without breaking a sweat at only reaching 1300 rpm heat max speed and minimum idle of 1100 set by me through Asus Suite II bios rates.

Cons: Everyone is saying its very Big?

Yeah I mean....That's the way I like it and this V8 delivers flawlessly. When people come to visit me and see my system they very first thing they say is Wow!, that thing is a beast of a machine with eyes popped wide open.

And I smile. So, the only con would be....why haven't you gotten one yet as well? Used correctly this cooler will make your neighbors envious.

Other Thoughts: Study and lay out your installation plan before taking the plunge. Installing my memory modules went fairly easy.

Don't expect this thing to cool a 5 Gigahertz or faster CPU to your liking. Get a water cooling (barely does better) solution or liquid nitrogen if your that desperate.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this cooler!

Pros: Using this on a core i5 760 clocked to 4Ghz and idle temps are 28c-30c with target fan speed set at 50%. Fan speed is set in the bios to increase when the CPU reaches 45c, but it has never hit 45c during gaming or even running Passmark Burnintest. Fans are near silent till around 80% fan speed. Does a better job cooling this CPU than my H60 did and looks WAY better.

Cons: None for me really, except maybe that I had to remove the top fan from my HAF XB case to fit this beast. Definitely worth it though. Just going to order the windowed top panel for it.

Other Thoughts: If you take the fans off before installing this thing and use a 9mm socket on a 6" extension, installation is a breeze. I've pulled this off twice to test different thermal pastes. The paste it comes with is pretty good, but I get the best temps with AS 5 over the CM Thermal Fusion and Arctic MX4, but only by a couple degrees C. All are very good pastes.

5 out of 5 eggsWhen the commenters say BIG...

Pros: Fairly easy install, considering that this thing is about 2/3 the size of my 7 year old daughters HEAD. Add to that, the fact that this thing is less than whisper quiet!

Under any stress I can throw at it, my CPU stays very cool. Considering doing some overclocking, it's so frakkin cool.

There's maybe a half inch clearance between the top of the cooler and my case wall in an Antec 1200 Full size case. If you're thinking of putting this in anything smaller, DON'T.

Other Thoughts: Supper fast shipping.

2 out of 5 eggsyour paying for looks

Pros: it looks bad as heck.
is a great product, im sure it will keep things cool..... however

Cons: at 94 bucks, you could spend a few bucks more and get the new Noctua nh-d15..... which is a better cooler.

the d15 will keep an OC-ed CPU WAY!!!! cooler than this.
however the d15 looks like brown poop.

Other Thoughts: ive built 18 or 20 computers, and i study computer science in college, so im a nerd.... any i just cant justify this things price.

i care about performance first, then looks.... if my 68 impala looks like a rust bucket (and it does), but it still beats your spotless car.... i still win!
