5 out of 5 eggsSize

Pros: This thing is huge and freakin cool looking, the pics do not do it any justice!

Cons: Not a Con but make sure your GPU will not interfere with this beast of a CPU cooler, had to return it cause my EVGA GTX 980 Classified was big in width thus the cooler will not seat right.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive performance and sight!

Pros: Quiet for its size, keeps my processor incredibly cool, looks awesome! Love the lighting on it too!

Cons: None so far. I guess it's kinda big...But that was clear when I purchased it so no one should hold it against it.

Other Thoughts: The size of this thing is impressive. I was actually worried whether or not it would fit in my case, but it fit JUST RIGHT

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing and huge

Pros: This keeps my CPU cool. I mean, it does it's job and that is a plus especially when I'm working with videos and stressing my CPU.

Cons: A bit on the large side. I had an issue with it pushing my video card but luckily it they work fine together.
Also, if you have a smaller case, this probably won't fit it.

2 out of 5 eggsNoiser than expected

Pros: Impressive size. Good LED's. Reasonably easy to install. Dual fan or extra air flow.

Cons: Noisy. I was shocked at how noisy this thing is. I'm thinking of disabling one of the fans, or returning it. I'm leaning towards returning because I don't want to overheat my CPU by disconnecting fans.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We are sorry to hear you had trouble with our V8. If the fans are vibrating or rattling in any way, we can definitely help by replacing those fans under warranty coverage. Would you be able to contact us so we can rectify the situation?

Respectfully,

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but HUGE

Pros: Does the job of keeping the cpu cool and does it well. Despite its size, it is surprisingly light. It looks pretty cool too, lighting up the inside of my white case.

Cons: The cooler fits fine in my case, but its large size required a lot of trouble with my setup. I couldn't install the cooler with the motherboard already installed in the case, since the clearance required around the cooler was too tight to use tools.. I had to install the cpu cooler first, then install ram, then put the board into the case and screw everything in, which was difficult as well since the cooler almost covered two screws. Even out of the case the screws were difficult to manipulated because of my north bridge's placement. Before you buy this cooler, know that it is VERY large and also sits close to the motherboard, so if you have ram with tall heat sinks it may be an impossible fit. The footprint is larger than six inches square.

Other Thoughts: Watch out for the aluminum fins. I accidentally cut my hand on them trying to cram it into a cranny to screw this thing on, and my new rig is literally full of my own blood. Too bad I didn't have a butcher's glove laying about.

I installed this on a new intell x99 board, and if you are building something on that platform I recommend you look at something else, as this cooler crowded the ram considerably and, in my opinion, the increase in cooling was not worth the difficult of installation. All decreases in rating include this reality - the cooler is likely too large and difficult to work with to justify on most builds. Cooler Master makes plenty of other coolers that come with less headaches. That being said, this beast does what it claims to do!

5 out of 5 eggsits friggin huge

Pros: Superior cooling, Beautiful craftmanship, Awesome red lighting

Cons: Friggin HUGE! Had to get my kid to start the screws on his asus maximus vii, not really a con, but you better have a bigaz case!

Other Thoughts: This thing is one bad boy! Keeps the cpu ice cold, looks amazing! Just buy it

3 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointed

Pros: Looked so amazing...I was genuinely wholeheartedly excited.

Cons: Covers my PCIE_1 slot on my Gigabyte GA-X99 Gaming G1 WiFI mobo. Wasted a lot of time and a little money.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble. If you have any questions regarding physical compatibility before purchase, please don't hesitate in contacting Cooler Master. We are more than happy to answer these type of questions to ensure you have a positive experience with our products. Given the situation, a workaround would be to use the 3rd pci slot or 5th one for a graphics card. You should still have full bandwidth for said connections. If you wish to troubleshoot or get other options regarding this situation, please contact us.

Respectfully,

CMUSA Support.

4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V8 Gts

Pros: Super quiet for size, extra accessories in case you drop one of the small screws. Irrelevant but if you like aesthetics then the lights are very cool and Terminator looking.

Cons: Oversized head space which does not allow for the case cover to close flush. Atx Case used is a Blackhawk 6 120 fan combo case. Biggest flaw is no directions and which brackets to use for a Intel or Amd depending on user's purchase. Directions are found online but are not able to be blown up to see clearly.

4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V8 GTS CPU Cooler

Pros: Does a super job as a CPU air cooler and love the red led display. Except for the finger work need to start the screws, installation was easy. Would buy it again. If a blue led version comes out, I will use it in my next build.

Cons: Cons: It is big! It was very frustrating to get at the little screws for installation, and I have a full tower case to work in. Basically I took everything that I could off of my ASUS Maximus Hero VII motherboard to free up room for my fingers -- this was a pain and will make me reluctant to go back & change anything.

.

Other Thoughts: Just finished a system build including the V8 GTS air cooler from Cooler Master. Have an overclocked intel i7 chip with CPU temperatures in the low 30s C, and everything has been working great for about a month.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: If you are not crazy about taking a chance on a liquid cooler then this is your choice. I have a I7-5930K Oc'd to 4.08 Ghz and in Prime95 temps never go above 60°C. I have the fan settings on silent for normal day to day operation and you cannot hear it. Every game I have thrown at this build temps never reach 50°C

Cons: Some say installation is a bit of a pain and I can some what agree. You buy a cooler this size it's not going to be easy to install. Check out the install video on Youtube from Hi-Tech Legion. Makes the install that much more painless.

Other Thoughts: Make sure during install you tighten the mounting nuts evenly.
