5 out of 5 eggsFixed a really bad heating problem

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Cools great (see cooling improvement in comments below). Compact design. Once installed, everything looks neat and tidy. Very quiet.

Cons: The instructions are pretty sparse so it helped me to look at some You Tube videos before I installed it. I have a Cooler Master HAF 922 case so I was a bit peeved that I had to bend a metal tab on the IO back plate in order to install the radiator. I would have expected the CM people would have tested the install on their own cases.

Other Thoughts: I have a I7 920 cpu in a PC I build a while back. Over time, I noticed that the fans seemed to be very noisy. Recently, I started getting messages saying the cpu was overheating. And more recently, the PC started shutting itself down. When I got around to measuring the temperature using HWMonitor, the core temperatures were running from a minimum of 50 C to 100 C (same temp as boiling water). From what I have read, the cpu would not get any hotter because it will throttle itself down when the temperature reached 100.

After installation of the CM Seidon 120V, my PC’s temperature is 37 C when idle and the absolute maximum temp I have seen was 50 C. Mission accomplished.

I will also attest to the fact that the I7 920 cpu is one robust chip!

5 out of 5 eggsI love it!

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It keeps my A10-6800K at 39 degrees Celsius when idle. Something no other cooler could do for me. The processor just runs hot and there's nothing I could do to keep it from reaching 50+ degrees when idle. It looks great, especially in the push-pull configuration I have it set in. Also, good price.

Cons: Hoses are a bit rigid. This made installation somewhat of a pain. But once you get the first couple of thumbscrews on the corners, it becomes much easier to handle.

Other Thoughts: So far it's a wonderful water cooler for the price. I'm sure there are better and more efficient ones out there, but for the price it can't be beat.

4 out of 5 eggsSome things YOU (consumer) should know...

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: This product circulates cold air into your rig, and circulates water to the CPU. Playing planet side and other games that require a lot of CPU run Amazing. It is very quiet and keeps the PC cool.

Cons: This thing is massive. Make sure you have enough room on the back or top of your PC in order to install it. I was able to rig mine to fit it. The installation was not what I expected either. It requires the removal of the mother board and re-installation of it. Nothing that requires complete installation of your PC.

Other Thoughts: If you are ok with taking apart your PC this product is fine. I give it 4 stars because the installation was not what I had in mind. The fan is massive. FYI.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: > CPU hasn't reached 50C
> Pump is quiet after it gets the coolant cycling through the system
> Helped cut down on temps inside the case

Cons: > Tubes are a bit rigid but it doesn't take much to actually force to manipulate them.
> Used one of my Corsair 120AF quiet edition fan over the stock fan, the screws used to mount the fan + radiator to the top of my HAF Stacker 935 where barely long enough, though the fans are similar in dimensions.

these aren't big enough deal to me to take an egg away.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade from stock cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Cools much better than the stock heatsink and fan I've been using for too long.
Relatively easy installation.
Comes with everything you need to install on Intel or AMD.
Tubes are pretty flexible.
Pretty cheap.

Cons: Need to get to the rear of the mobo to install. (Probably easier for those with cases that have a cutout.)
LED on waterblock is kind of bright.

Other Thoughts: The included fan makes an incessant noise and I had originally thought that it was just spinning too fast, but even changing it to the lowest speed, it continued to make noise. I replaced it with the case fan I've had, but it'd still be nice if I could get a replacement as it seems like it'd be a great radiator fan.

4 out of 5 eggsRealy wanted to keep it.

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Small Flexible hoses fit well in a tight Micro ATX situation.
Good cooling.
Secure mounting on an AMD board
Pretty quiet fan
Nice price

Cons: Pump was noisy
Need access to the rear of the motherboard for mounting
(Just an advisory)

Other Thoughts: I was very pleased with the installation and the cooling of the CM Seidon 120V. I was able to bend the hose around to fit in a relatively tight spot. I think the cooling is on par with any single fan 120mm closed loop cooler.

This was an HTPC and silence was the whole reason I went with a water cooler. Unfortunately the pump on this unit made a buzzing sound that was amplified by the motherboard and was the loudest thing in the PC.. I asked on line and other people were not having this issue so I have no reason to believe it is a universal problem but it was an issue in my case.

I contacted Cooler Master and there support was was excellent. They resolved the issue beyond my expectations which puts them in a rare category. Because of CM's exceptional customer service and the fact that the pump noise is not widely reported I still gave a four star rating.

5 out of 5 eggsSOLID, EASY, RELIABLE

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Solid reliable unit. Relatively easy to install. Getting CPU temps under 100F even under load. Coolermaster makes great quality products. Unlike Thermaltake, CM doesn't play little tricks with rebate. (Wait for rebate - don't pay more than $35 total).

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsAbove Average

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Allows me to maintain a mid level overclock on a Haswell processor.
Fairly easy to install.
No noticeable pump noise.
Comes with hardware for two fans.

Cons: Copper base plate has a rough finish
The tubes are stiff and causes the pump and plate to slide off center when installing.
See Other Thoughts...

Other Thoughts: It's the low-end AIO cooler for Cooler Master. I understand some things may not be top-notch. However, it's still a good cooler as-is for a mild over-clock. I also have the Seidon XL.
I installed this 120V on a G3258 Pentium dual-core (54w) with the included fan in the pull position and a Corsair SP120 Quiet in the push position. I had worse temps at stock speed than the stock cooler (35C Idle, 65C Prime 95).
I let it sit for a month while working on other projects.

Today, I decided to see if I could improve the temps. I undid the screws and found the dot-in-the-middle method had only spread to the upper 3/4 of the processor. That was an Ah-ha! moment. When installing, the tubes push the pump and baseplate off center. I used the business card thin spread method to replace the thermal paste (using Artic Silver 5) I also polished the copper baseplate to a mirror-like finish with MAAS metal polish and cotton balls. I made sure the plate was centered and then tightened down the screws making sure to maintain center.
I am happy to report that I have much better temps. At 23C Ambient, it kept the processor at stock speed at 40C during Prime 95. That was a 25C improvement. I then cranked the processor up to 4.3GHz and it kept it at 27C idle and 65C Prime 95.
When installing, don't count on the baseplate to spread the paste evenly. Use the business card method.
Make sure you have it centered as you tighten down the nuts; recheck it as necessary.
If you have an hour to kill, polish the copper baseplate to remove the grooves.

5 out of 5 eggsA good solution for my mini ITX case

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: -Fits perfect in my Cooler Master 110 Elite
-Good(not great) performance once I used a third party thermal paste
-Pairs great with a lower power cpu like my LGA 1150 Pentium 3258 Haswell
-OC'd to 4.5ghz with prime temps(full load) at 75-85C, 30-35C idle temps
-Great price with the rebate

Cons: -The screws to attach the fan are a few mm too small, had to use the supplied zip ties to attach the fan to the radiator
-The standard thermal paste gave me horrible results; got a scary 100C temps while using prime, 25c over a third party paste

Other Thoughts: -For my setup, the cooler intake air blows across the radiator; I wouldn't recommend using this cooler if you plan on using it with the warmer exhaust air
-Had a little trouble installing, but not significantly harder to install than other cooling solutions I've used
-If your case is big enough, I'd recommend the CM 212 Evo over this product
-The stock fan pushes a lot of air and gets fairly loud at full load(but not as loud as a modern gpu fan at full load)
-The plastic tubing is stiff and inflexible, but it worked fine with the case
