5 out of 5 eggsNICE

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: if you are doing a new build then its an easy fit. not so much if you are upgrading. the latter is my case (no pun intended) so it was all but a tear down. i was able to get my bracket behind my board once i unscrewed it from the case and lifted it on an angle. with that said, its been well over a week and my first experience with liquid cooling and i very am satisfied. my case has no 120mm fan space so i ended up mounting onto the side panel of my case on the air vents. couple added drill holes and its a nice fit. hoses (in my cases case) are long and were bending up into the fan but a couple of zip ties and its not only out of the way but when i take the side off its far more stabilized.

for $50 that's was a nice entry point. i used performance test 64 which is free for 30 days but may be worth buying, have to check the price.

i was at 33C when the full test started, by the end i hit 62C. at 1024 by 768 i was flying over 1200 fps at 4x, and it didnt even hit 46C. same size but full screen on 42" tv (see pic) 77 fps at 8x. sapphire dual x R9 280. my quad core is a 3700 cpu and it has the turbo so not even over clocked it would peak at 4200 all 100% load.

Cons: none and lets hope not. fluid and cpu no matchey!!

Other Thoughts: i have 2 fans, they are on the R9 and at 25% when i did the test. before the cooler i had 5 fans, front rear case, heat sink cpu, and the 2 on vid card and it was 5C hotter. i will put a fan in one at a time and see where i end up with temps and if i can get lower i will update. if its insignificant i wont even keep them in. oh and the fan with this unit is so quite, you have to listen for it, then you have to listen to it to make sure its what you hear!

3 out of 5 eggsIt worked ok...

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: I bought this cooler on sale for $35. I thought it was a steal. I received it and it was an easy installation. It worked great for about a month.

Cons: It started making a horrible loud noise after about a month. Then my temperatures sky-rocketed. It kept my FX-8320 at 40 degrees Celsius at idle then went up to 70 at idle about a week after it started making loud sounds. The stock fan that was included was really notchy and super loud.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this cooler. My Corsair H55 perform way better.

1 out of 5 eggsSticking with my Noctua NH-D14

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It showed up on time.

Cons: Two screw holes stripped on the radiator shroud. I didn't over torque the screws either. The metal is cheap. Still gave it a try in my system and powered it up. Temperatures were high compared to my Noctua. So back in went the Noctua for good. Really disappointed in the construction of this HSF. Until I forget about this bad experience, this will be the last time I purchase anything from Cooler Master.

Manufacturer Response:

Pros: Sleek compact and does what is advertised kept my 8350 nice and cool. Haven't overclocked the cpu yet, but expect it to keep the temps in check.

3 out of 5 eggsFollow up review

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It cools the CPU well then stock cooler (about 10C lower) when it works. Relatively Quiet.

Cons: The pump failed after 8 months. You need to look at percentage of failure to confirm that CM has good QC or not. Unfortunately it's hard to find such data. So you might find some clue on the reviews. Deduct one egg because of quality issue.

Other Thoughts: This is follow up the initial review I wrote in 8/2014. I'm not a heavy gamer, so the computer is mainly used for web browsing, video watching and some light gaming. So CPU was usually under light load. So after 8 months of somewhat light use, the pump of the cooler failed. CPU temp raise to 90C after starting and Computer will shut down within one minute. I send it back to Cooler-master for repair. It took them about to "receive" it, which means that after it's delivered by FedEx to them, it take them 3 weeks to log it (RM) in. And after they log it in, it took them about 2 week to figure out it's not repairable and send me a brand new one with another model.

1 out of 5 eggsdoesn't work

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: None

Cons: It doesn't work. I bought this to replace my old CPU fan and this runs hotter than the stock fan (AMD 8320 CPU). I only gave this one egg because I couldn't give it zero. Ideally, I would be able to give it negative five eggs, but that's just not the world we live in.
