5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: I had a stock fan on my AMD A10 quad core processor and as soon as I would do graphics intensive tasks the computer would shut off because of overheating. That is not the case anymore since I've installed this bad boy. It works fantastically and the CPU never goes above 30 degrees Celsius when it used to get to 65!

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: The fan is super quiet as well

3 out of 5 eggsIt's ok

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Liquid cooler.
Looks decent

Cons: Not great performer
Feels cheap.
Bright blue light clashes with red theme

Other Thoughts: I bought this to cool my I7 970 that is overclocked to 4.2Ghz I had a custom loop on it previously and it never had any problems at all. However, the CM Seidon, could not keep up and the system would BSOD after a few minutes of Prime95. So, I lowered the OC to 4.1Ghz, Same issue. Finally got it stable @ 3.98Ghz on a 24 hour prime95 run. I was pretty disappointed with that. The custom loop wasn't great, 2 heat sources on a 240mm radiator. I figured that 1 heat source on 1 120mm radiator would have been just fine.

This was used with CL Liquid Ultra thermal paste. I should have went with a beefier cooler. My mistake.

2 out of 5 eggsKeeps things cool (when it works)

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: I have been using this CPU cooler and the previous one before I RMA'd it for a total of 1.5 years. When they are working they are quiet and allow a stable OC of 20% on my i7. The installation is easy if you have a hole in your CPU case for watercooler bracket installs, otherwise installation requires that the entire motherboard is removed and it is mounted before you screw in the mother board.

Cons: The biggest con with this cooler is that on computer power up, it will occasionally not start. This seems to start occurring following any kind of power dip. While I understand that losing power to your house is not an every day occurrence. Having the CPU block pump fail whenever the power company does maintenance to the lines leads to your computer start, the radiator fan running at max for 30 seconds and your computer going into an emergency shutdown. After rebooting several times and tapping on the water pump block it will often work for several weeks before the next failure. My first Seidon worked for about 6 months before it failed and I couldn't recover it. My second one had an issue last week where it wouldn't start following a loss of power to my home and now I am trying to avoid shutting my PC down for fear of another RMA/motherboard removal.

While it could be considered a minor issue because this block is so cheap to replace even yearly consider this. If you don't have a rear window in your case you get the privilege of removing your motherboard and reinstalling pretty much your entire system. Also since Cooler Master doesn't pay shipping the product to them for the RMA, you will drop 10-15 bucks just to ship it back for the RMA.

Other Thoughts: This was a cheap way to try out water cooling, which is really what this was about for me. While I think water cooling is the way to go if you want quiet cool performance, I am not sure that the Seidon 120V is what you are looking for.

4 out of 5 eggsWould be perfect if it was not so loud.

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: -Keeps my cpu COOL. i5-4690K OC'd to 4.4Ghz
-36*C idle - 70*C under stress load. (conservative numbers)
-Looks cool

Cons: -It is by far the loudest thing in my case, and it's the reason I took off an egg.

-The tubes are very hard to bend. (This could be a good thing to help not to pinch them but also makes it hard to setup the cooling block if you have a small case.)

Other Thoughts: -Be very careful when dealing with the radiator, the fins are fragile and WILL bend if you rub against them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling power for the price!

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Great cooling power for the cost and the space. I'm pretty impressed. Before, under load, my i7 4790k (stock speeds) was running 144°F, my R9 290 85°C, and Asus z87-a mobo about 105°F. Now, under load, CPU is 120°F, R9 78°C, mobo 98°F. Just cooling the CPU well affected everything else, which I'm very happy with. Previous CPU idle was about 111°F, now idle is 92°F. My front fan draws a lot of air in, but it's summer in So Cal so my room temp is upper 80s/lower 90s. I expect even better temps when the ambient temp is more reasonable.

Without tuning, the radiator fan likes to run at about 650 RPM, which is nice and quiet. I don't hear a lot of pump noise unless I've been rendering for 20 minutes or gaming for 45.

I plan on getting a high-performance, low-noise fan in the future. I figure really blowing the radiator cool will keep temps lower and help me push it a little harder when I overclock the i7 (I need a good deal on a better power supply before I take that step).

Cons: Mounting the cooling block is definitely a two-person job.

The documentation sucks. Youtube was helpful, as well as various webforums. Here's everything that should have been included in the documentation:
- Plug the pump into the CPU_OPT header, and the radiator fan into CPU_FAN
- Use acetone to clean the old thermal paste off the CPU
- Use a large pea-sized amount of thermal paste in the center of the CPU
- Mount the radiator first (I think the documentation does show that, but not clearly).

I would've been less nervous though the installation if the tubing was more flexible. The tubing isn't long either, and I had about 3 minutes where I thought I would have to send it back. Finding the mounting angle wasn't easy.

The 120mm radiator has a fat side that did not fit on the back of my case. It did mount to the top. It was a tight fit, but ended up working. If I didn't have a fan grill on the top of the case, I would've been out of luck. Heat rises, so I like having the radiator on top anyway; it seems like a logically efficient place to mount a radiator.

Price and size considered: this cools very efficiently and quietly, my temps are great, so it's worth the trade-offs.

1 out of 5 eggsPass on this one

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Self contained

Cons: Make sure you have an extra pair of hands when installing, or tape the back plate to the motherboard. Also, the thermal paste is very runny, so you need to work fast.

The fan is atrociously loud, and spins up to full speed when the system is first turned on. It sounded as if I was running a vacuum in the room. Luckily I had extra 140mm Antec fans that at full speed are significantly quieter.

This cooler is not a goof choice for someone looking for a quiet system.

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra $$ to get a better cooler with a quiet fan.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke After 4 months

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Cheap
Sturdy
LED On light

Cons: Fan Started rattling about 2 months ago. It was very loud and inconvenient (I stream) but I didn't care that much. Today, the water cooling stopped. My computer kept turning off and I couldn't figure out the problem. Eventually I got to the hardware utilities in the BIOS and noticed the machine would shut off at ~85 degrees Celsius.

The cooling mechanism does not use a standard bracket. I am unable to use a stock fan in the meanwhile. My old bottom bracket was given to a friend :(.

This product is unreliable, and potentially damaged my components. I am very unhappy with this purchase and result.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this model. I have a Cooler Master Seidon 120M running on another machine that seems to still be fine. If you are partial to Cooler Master, I would suggest the 120M model.

4 out of 5 eggsKeeps my i7 Nice and Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: My i7 was constantly overheating with the stock cooling system (I live in a hot area). Before this cooling solution my cores were constantly hitting 100C, and the overall processor temperature getting near 90C (98C is the critical temperature for my model).

After installing this cooling system my cores spike to 67C when my house is 90F, and my processor stays at about 45C under full load.

Cons: The instructions totally suck. For Intel processors there are two step 1s, and there isn't a step 4. Really confusing. I followed a YouTube video online. The instructions are the only reason I took off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price. I would recommend getting one.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Great cooler. I noticed a 10 degree drop across the board and it runs silent. Worth Noting that I do run it in a push and pull configuration.

Cons: I only wish that the hoses were a tad longer and further apart. Really minor complaints as I love the product.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent liquid cooling solution.

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: The Seidon 120V has surpassed any of my expectations of it. I have it cooling an FX-4350 which is overclocked to 4.5 GHz, the CPU has never exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. I have the radiator set up with 2 fans in a push pull configuration and am also using Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound. The system runs nice and quiet, is well built, and also looks very nice in the computer. For the price you really can't beat it, price/performance ratio is amazing, I would highly recommend this cooling system.

Cons: None.
