5 out of 5 eggsA Great and Cheap Liquid Cooler!

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Exceptional cooling performance (FX-4130 @ 4.2GHz - 38 degrees C; i5-4690K @ 4.2GHz - 56 degrees C)
A great price for the performance offered
Compatibility with several different CPU sockets (AM3+ and LGA1150 in my case)

Cons: The fan is somewhat noisier than the stock AMD fan that came with my computer
The install instructions were a little confusing

Other Thoughts: I have used an AMD FX-4130 overclocked to 4.2GHz and now an Intel i5-4690K overclocked to 4.2GHz and on both CPU's, the Seidon 120V shined. On the AMD, the maximum temperature when playing Microsoft Flight Simulator X (which is a VERY CPU-intensive program, trust me) was around 38~40 degrees Celsius. On the Intel i5, the maximum temperature was around 57 degrees Celsius when playing the same game. These temperatures are nowhere near the maximum limits of the two CPU's. I'm satisfied with the performance that this liquid cooler gives, especially when considering the price of only $49.99. If you are just starting out with liquid CPU coolers or if you are strapped on money, then this cooler is the right one for you!

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Good price

Cons: Piece of garbage. It broke within 1 year. 2 of the fan blades broke off and cracked the casing.

Other Thoughts: Worst investment ever. Stick to Corsair; never had any issues with their products

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsQuality cooler, but loud

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It keeps your CPU pretty chilly, that's for sure. My 4790K can play Battlefield 4, maxed out, at around 50C. Pre-filled makes installation pretty simple unless you, like me, have an incompatible case (In Win GT 1); I had to make some adjustments to the case and used some motherboard standoff screws, but I eventually got it working.

Cons: The fan is loud at high RPM's. I'm going to buy some Noctua F12's and toss them in instead of the CM fan that came with this unit.

Other Thoughts: I would have preferred to purchase a 240mm version, but my case doesn't support large that size fan :(

5 out of 5 eggsLight Overclocking on a Budget

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: -Pretty easy to install
-Low Profile on motherboard
-Cools WAY better than my old stock heat sink
-Super stable temps under load
-Blue LED looks nice, not too bright
-Pump seems to be quite so far
-120mm is not a cheapo fan, has a braided cable and everything
-Hoses were a little stiff but routed fine for me
-Price per cool-ability is phenomenal

Cons: -A little louder than the stock heat sink, although it could be from the additional fan I moved to the top exhaust to install the radiator
-Didn't really need it, but a YouTube install video was a handy reference
-Not designed for crazy OC'd rigs, but you knew that already, that's why you are looking at the least expensive water cooler on Newegg

Other Thoughts: My first attempt at liquid cooling seems to be going great. Phenom X4 955 BE was running 3.2 GHz at about low 40's idle, low 60's under hefty load in a Cooler Master HAF 912 with plenty of fans and a stock cooler

30 minute install later, now running 3.9 GHz, idling 30C, 45C max load. I was hoping for 3.6, so 3.9 is way more than I could have asked for, should make this CPU last a few more years. I could definitely push it further, but I don't feel like fiddling with the voltage.

Wish I would have done this three years ago when I built it. If you want an easy OC cooler, but don't want to go crazy, this is a no brainer

2 out of 5 eggsGood pump, but died after 6 months

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Quieter than most other solutions out there. The fan and pump is hardly noticeable noise-wise.

Cons: Cheaply made. Screw holes strip VERY easily. This is not a part that likes to be uninstalled and re-installed. Plan to keep it in the first place that you install it.

Not the best for overclocking. This thing holds the processor where it needs to be at stock and nothing more.

Died after 6 months of moderate use (6-8 hours per day). Was great while it lasted

Other Thoughts: Would I buy this again? Sure. This is the fourth build that I've used this in and was the first one to die. The other two are over a year old and still chugging with heavier usage.

Would I RMA this? Nah. It's cheap enough that it's not worth paying the shipping to RMA it when I could pay a little more and get a better cooler.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Parts feel like they're high quality. Solid construction. Simple to install and it dropped my temps a lot!

Installed on an ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO Board with a Phenom II X4 955BE. Previous idle temp was around 34c and under load would be around 55c. After installing this cooler the chip idles around 26c and under load sits around 42c.

I've seen some reviews complaining about sound. I'm coming to this water cooler from the stock AMD HS+Fan. To me, this is significantly quieter!

Great buy when you purchase with the $20 rebate card.

Cons: No rubber grommets to fit on fan/radiator.

3 out of 5 eggsGood exhaustive cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It's not as loud as people say, and it does a pretty good job of cooling the CPU if you've applied the thermal paste correctly (you need to spread it around, though - a single drop won't do it). And it was pretty easy to install.

Cons: The bracket that holds the cooling block on the CPU was bent when I got it, so it didn't fit. I had to straighten it. The parts are cheap - I stripped one of the holes that holds the radiator to the case with very little effort. And the off-centre LED is entirely pointless.

Other Thoughts: This isn't an over-clocking cooling solution. This is, I think, a good cooler if you want adequate cooling without heating up the inside of your case (perhaps to help with other temp issues). Because it's exhaustive, it takes all of your CPU's heat and pushes it out of the case, and this is extremely valuable if you happen to have a hot GPU.

2 out of 5 eggsPerformance just isn't there...

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: It works, sortof? Its liquid cooling...

Cons: LOUD under load, the fan, not the pump. poor performance too, my i5-3470 easily gets up to 88C+ under load. I'm pretty sure the stock cooler that came with the cpu does better than that...

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy again, its not proper liquid cooling and offers no real advantage. its also HUGE in my little ITX case (Which has a 200mm intake which tosses the whole case into positive pressure), and makes it difficult to install. It uh, mostly keeps the cpu from melting, but thats about it...

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Seidon 120V

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Looks decent in my case, keeps my amd fx 8320 (at 4ghz) running at 28-45 degrees celsius (idle to load).

Cons: metal bracket doesnt look so great on a windowed build, blue led is very weak, a dot of blue visible on the black surface, off-centre

Other Thoughts: again, love it

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: Cheap price on promo

Cons: Tricky installation
-Backplate has to be pushed flush while you install the water block
Average performance
Not an Asetek-based water block (incompatible with the NZXT G10)

Other Thoughts: Acceptable cooler, but I recommend the Zalman LQ-310.
