4 out of 5 eggsGood AIW cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Easy install, Included fans are great, Keeps CPU nice and cool. So far Reliable

Cons: Radiator screws don't exactly match threads on fan mounting screws. They Strip out easily. Pump does not support PWM or Linear speed control. Works *sometimes* off the motherboard, requires a separate voltage regulator for pump control on Z77 MPower. Makes an occasional "fart" sound when an air bubble passes through the pump.

Other Thoughts: Tech support was great. Answered all my questions. Yes the pump really is supposed to run @ 6000 rpm

1 out of 5 eggsTubing Leaked

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Excellent performance, one of the best closed loop systems, outperforms corsair closed loop systems

Cons: tubing failed, i am a huge coolermaster fan and was disapointed with this. i found it to be shocking.

Other Thoughts: i am not mad at coolermaster, i simply wish to find a resolution to this issue

4 out of 5 eggshappy with my purchase

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: overall great product. obviously being a 140mmx2 rad installation can be cumbersome. that should be expected unless you are working in a very large case. for a pre-built kit everything is what i expected. easy-ish to install and simple. average performance if you compare them to custom water kits that are 3x the price.

Cons: i am used to installing custom water cooling solutions and when i was installing the pump/waterblock onto the CPU i actually snapped a screw in half tightening it on (you can really crank down those custom blocks). coolermaster support was great and sent me out a new accessories package to replace the screw. however, i would still have beefed up everything a bit so you can torque down the screws more.

in addition the water block is a bit lackluster (when compared to custom options). it isnt doing the greatest job of transfering heat from the CPU to the internal coolant to circulate up to the rad. overall performance is similar to the corsair equivalent though. it would be nice to see coolermaster just go the extra step with the water block.

1 out of 5 eggsQuestionable fitting

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Large 140.2mm radiator
Two high speed, high static pressure fans included

Cons: The screws included to hold the radiator in place,on the side with no fans, do NOT have big enough heads. They were also too short for my case.

Either this radiator uses non-standard 280mm mount points or this just does not fit with my case. The top mounting holes only align with 4 of the 8 top fan holes. The other four are forward of the holes by like 1/4"

Other Thoughts: Case - Corsair C70

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Keeps temps below 40 degrees Celsius running games while overclocked. Thick raditator, and powerful fans.

Cons: Fans are pretty loud, but easily controlled by cpu fan header. Had to connect pump to a random header on the mother board to get it to run above 0 Rpms for some reason, but it was probably just my motherboard itself.

3 out of 5 eggsExcellent cooler but not very convenient

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: The cooler is extremely efficient. On an i7-5820K overclocked to 4.2GHz, it is able to keep the CPU under 70c with the processor being stressed via Intel Burn Test.

Cons: The first issue this cooler has is the mounting screws. The screws are so small that they look better suited for motherboard mounting screws rather than radiator mounting screws. If you have a tower with large mounting holes or rubber grommets, getting the radiator mounted is going to be a bit of a chore. This could have been remedied if Cooler Master included more than one type of mounting screw. An oversight such as this is something to be expected from a product marketed in the +/- $50 range, not the + $100 range.

The second issue is the fans are quite loud by default. Unless you have a fan controller, or your motherboard allows you to set your CPU fan speeds, prepare your ears.

The final issue is the metal the radiator is made from is quite soft and prone to stripping. By simply mounting the radiator, unmounting it, and mounting the radiator a second time, two of the 8 screw mounts stripped down to uselessness. Needless to say, be as careful as you possibly can while mounting the radiator.

Other Thoughts: The biggest deduction in score is due to the soft metal the radiator is made out of, and the fact that there are no alternate mounting screws. Aside from that, as long as you have the capability to adjust the fan speeds, this is a very rock solid cooler. In my own environment, I have the cooler set to 30% fan speed for temps of 50c or lower, which is plenty to keep the CPU just under 39c while idle, and completely noise free in the process.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Unknown

Cons: Inability to actually install the unit due to missing parts.

Other Thoughts: Avoid. I recently purchased this water cooling unit and a tower by the same manufacturer. Both arrived missing parts. The Cooler Master support folks are very personable and agreeable on the phone, but not effective. I put in a parts request 19 days ago and despite repeated phone calls and guarantees that the missing parts would be sent off next day they still have not been as of a phone call this morning. I've been waiting to build this new system for 3 weeks waiting on parts because the manufacturer didn't have more stringent quality control and is utterly ineffective at customer support. The equipment may be great, but if you can't assemble it, it's just a frustrating waste of time, money, and space. Will not be purchasing Cooler Master equipment again.

4 out of 5 eggsVery happy with this cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: This cooling system works very well and does as it is advertised to do.

Cons: The stock fans are noisy as hell and I swapped them out for Cougar CF-D14HB-B fans so this cost the product 1 egg.

Other Thoughts: All in all Im quite happy with this and even with the oc that Im doing with my cpu the cooler keeps up with it nicely. Im using a push/pull arrangement in the HAF X case that Im using and it seems to be working well. Im not the first and I wont be the last to comment on the noisy stock fans so Cooler Master should address this at some point though I doubt they will.

4 out of 5 eggsSlick, HUGE, and hot.

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: My knowledge on heat-sinks and radiators is extremely low, so don't take anything I state as a serious disadvantage.
The radiator fits in my 780T Full Tower pretty nice. I can't really say much since this is my first radiator, but it seems to do exactly what it claims.

Cons: The mounting screws were a bit odd and they didn't let me mount it to the top of my 780. the instructions weren't dumb-friendly. I youtubed some videos and it helped. The radiator blows a bit of hot air (i don't know if this is supposed to happen??)

Other Thoughts: Again, I'm not an expert. This is my first build, but I AM satisfied.
