5 out of 5 eggsGreat Water Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: I have an AMD 9370. If you have an AMD 9370 or 9590 This cooler is the best. Forget Air. Did A lot of research and this had the best bench mark. When in extreme gaming I can hear the fans kick up speed to compensate for the increase in Heat. Nice Flexible strong tubing. Very Cool....... Literally.

Cons: Instructions Instructions....

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the headache

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Durable tubing, thick radiator

Cons: Lets start with installation- The tubing while durable, is impossible to work with. I've mounted AIO's before, this was by far the worst one to work with. The instructions are horrible, and the mounting hardware is mediocre at best. The screws they give to attach the fans are absolute garbage. the heads stripped out immediately, and the machined holes on the rad also stripped out. Got it in the case, fine, maybe it will perform good enough to not care...
Wrong---
First off, the pump is loud, and not like water moving loud, its like a high pitched whine that when turned up all the way sounds like a bad case of coil whine. So I turned it down. Then the clicking started. I've done some acrobatic stuff with this case thinking it was air, but the pump is defective and now am in the process of RMA, hopefully cooler master's advanced RMA is better than the installation of this thing.
Back to the pump. the plate is no smooth at all. For other coolers in this price point, Cooler Master could have at least made the base plate smooth. I can get my finger nail in the grooves, thats how deep some of the machine marks are.
The fans are horrible too. they may move a lot of air, but one, they are rounded frames, and I can feel air leaking, and two they are sleeve bearing, and are so loud, I replaced them already.
Cooling performance isn't anything to write home about. In push pull with new fans, a 4790k at 4.6ghz and 1.2 volts averages 40 degrees on idle, and 70 under a load, in a 24 degree environment. Which might not seem bad, but this radiator is thicker than both the x61 and the h110,. and performs about the same if not worse, with aftermarket fans.

Other Thoughts: Just stick with an H110 or a Kraken x61 because for the money, both of those systems are proven, and you get the benefit of a thinner Rad, better fans, and ease of installation.

Pros: keeps my 4790k cold. easy installation

Cons: fans are VERY LOUD even at 50% speed. 100% rpm sounds like its going to blow up.

4 out of 5 eggsKind of loud

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Cools very well, cores on my i7-5930K at stock speed stay between 24-28C when not gaming or benchmarking.

Cons: The fans for this are loud, very loud. I intend to swap out the fans for a couple Noctua NF-A14 FLX 140mm fans to see if it improves the noise level and cooling capability. Sometimes it makes some odd noises, and I'm not sure if it's the fans or the pump, guess I'll see soon enough.

Other Thoughts: This is my first liquid cooled cpu.

2 out of 5 eggsYou have Been Warned!!!

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Runs almost silent, currently running an Intel Core i7-5820K @4GHZ and even gaming encoding system stays around 50 C. I really like the water cooling system and I'm letting the MB handle throttling and my bed room doesnt get nearly as warm as my previous system which was Air cooled.

Cons: 1) Stripped the threads out of the casing around the radiator one one bolt hand tightening.... -1 Egg
2) The most important aspect of any cooling system is that it works. This unit will fail to initialize(power) the water pump when power the system on at random times. I've tried every possible way to connect even bypassing and going stright to the PSU same result. Luckily one can hear the pump running if you listen closely and it can be resolved by turn the system off and on again. Sometimes this takes up to 3 tries. This is the one thing about this system that has totally turned me against this product and I would not recommend it to anyone -2 Eggs Due to the fact you could totally burn out a cpu using this product....

Other Thoughts: I will replace this product at some point in the future at the moment I cant afford the cash or time to replace.

4 out of 5 eggsGood AIW cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Easy install, Included fans are great, Keeps CPU nice and cool. So far Reliable

Cons: Radiator screws don't exactly match threads on fan mounting screws. They Strip out easily. Pump does not support PWM or Linear speed control. Works *sometimes* off the motherboard, requires a separate voltage regulator for pump control on Z77 MPower. Makes an occasional "fart" sound when an air bubble passes through the pump.

Other Thoughts: Tech support was great. Answered all my questions. Yes the pump really is supposed to run @ 6000 rpm

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Excellent performance, one of the best closed loop systems, outperforms corsair closed loop systems

Cons: tubing failed, i am a huge coolermaster fan and was disapointed with this. i found it to be shocking.
