2 out of 5 eggsNot happy.

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: it works I suppose.
280mm rad.

Cons: noisy. from day one, the pump made noise. initially it was not noticeable because of my loud gpu fans, but when I was playing with pump/fan speeds I noticed the pump noise was so incessant. and it was past the 30 day return period. I doubt I will ever buy an AIO Cooler ever again. it's as if there isn't enough coolant inside to eliminate the noise that the pump makes.

back to air cooling after this.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking great so far.

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Easy installation (this was my first time with water cooling)

Cons: Was shipped via a 3rd party who used TNT for shipping. Part to forever to reach me.

Other Thoughts: Idle temps in the mid to low 20's centigrade. Max temp so for of 47°C. Make sure you get a case that can accommodate such a large radiator.

1 out of 5 eggsGood idea, bad product.

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: If looks were the determining factor this would be a fabulous item, the bench tests were gaga over this product. I wish I could say more, i wanted to like it but nope!
It does fit my corsair case sort of.

Cons: It is an MFJ - 'A magnificent ******** piece of junk' entirely due to the fact that the brackets don't fit my 2011-V3 EVGA x99 classified board, I am unable to mount it on the board. it's a 120 dollar paper weight all because of the bad brackets.

Other Thoughts: If you use amd I suppose this might work but would you ever spend 120 dollars on a guess? Guess again, I did and i was wrong.
I hope they will refund my money or give me a bracket that actually works but i've no hopes of that happening. The level of Q.A. in the liquid cooling market has drastically changed for the worst since the passing of the much venerated DangerDen company.

2 out of 5 eggsHeadache waiting to happen

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Cools the cpu.

Cons: Was by FAR the hardest cooler I've ever installed. Tubes are ridged and give little way. The booklet was confusing. Pictures for instructions. Did I mention hard to install?

Other Thoughts: Other then the mess of a booklet and hard install it does it's job.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is an update,

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: durable and very effective

Cons: could be quieter

Other Thoughts: Chris R. was kind enough to share that "Wouldn't cool processor at all" which would be very disappointing.

I'd like to share a few installation details which folks may find helpful. Both the pump and all the fans run off of fan headers. You can let the radiator fans be controlled based on temperature to keep the noise level down BUT the pump should run 100% duty cycle at all times. Among all AIO cpu coolers coolmaster uses the largest diameter hoses and that is important for good cooling. You do not want to require the pump to respond to temperature changes, with fans you can be more lenient they have a longer grace period to ramp up to speed.

My absolute peak temps (spikes) never exceed 55C, idle temps 25C or less and steady temps at extended full load run < 35C which I think is excellent. That is with my devil's Canyon i7-4790 OCed to 4591MHz which only has TDP of 88 watts. The 280L may be overkill for my CPU but I like a healthy safety factor. A smaller radiator would have more frequent and larger temperature spikes.

It's is easy to use too much or too little thermal paste on the CPU, when I have poor CPU cooling performance, that is the first place I look for problems and a do-over usually solves the problem.

4 out of 5 eggshuge cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: it is suppose to be one of the best 280mm all in one cpu water cooler.
but I am sad that I cant use it.

Cons: Does not fit in the fractal design r5 with asus maximus viii hero.
the heatsink on the mobo is too tall. same thing with ram but you can just get low profile ram and it will work. but this cooler will not work with some mobo with taller heatsinks inside a standard atx case.

Other Thoughts: Does not fit in the fractal design r5 with asus maximus viii hero.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best Closed Loop CPU coolers

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Quiet
Excellent cooling for extreme overclocks

Cons: Not many cases accept 280mm radiators - make sure you do your research before you buy your case

Other Thoughts: Only one word of advice, position this radiation so that the fans PUSH air through the radiators, NOT pull. This allows the fans to be placed inside the case - reducing the sound profile while giving you a more efficient cooling configuration

5 out of 5 eggsHighly effective and very durable

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Cools my OCed Devil's Canyon very well for many hours at a time.

Most effective closed loop all-in-one CPU cooler made.

Durable in demanding applications for years at a time.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I purchased my 280L seventeen months ago when for my Devil's Canyon build mid 2014. My I7-4790K will over clocked to 4500 MHz and when run handbrake it can run many hours straight at that speed and does so with out any problems.

So I've had seventeen months, twelve hours a day with out any problems. I did replace the stock fans with a pair of Noctura fans I had laying around. When I added a EVGA Titan X Hybrid this August I turned the radiator around so that tubes would be toward the center of case and that made room for me to mount the radiator for the Titian X at the rear of the Cosmos II case.

I am planning my X99 build now, for when the Haswell-E gets refreshed in Spring of 2016. I'll pick up parts over the next few months when ever the parts I need go on sale. Today the Nepton 280L sells for $99.99 after rebate so I'll buy it now and it can sit until I need it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cooler vs the 140xl version

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: I used the 280L and the little brother 140xl to compare against my i7-4790k OC'ed to 4.65GHz. The 280L and 140xl had the same idle temps of average 32C. once stressed test for 2 hours, the 280L was about to keep the temps to about 62C while the 140Xl went to about 71C on average. So about a 9 degree delta.

Cons: My case is the CM storm trooper. it fit nicely in the case. The issue was that once of the fan screws were in the way of the 8pin power connector for the CPU. So I had to take a screw out.

Other Thoughts: Nice Rad and worth the pick up if you are OC your CPU.
