2 out of 5 eggsCM evo 2011 DOESNT FIT

Pros: As long as the bracket

Cons: not as tall to put the evo on, had to force it to fit (read other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I had to use a pair of pliars to bend the bracket now it fits but I might now upgrade in the future to another cooler

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Moomoomage,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with our bracket. If you have to use plyers, the installation is not being done correctly. Please contact us so we can troubleshoot and find out what is going on and rectify the situation.

Respectfully,

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Install Sabertooth X79 & CM 212 Plus

Pros: Easiest installation ever of ANY Custom CPU Cooler I have ever used!

I would go as far as to say it was easier than the LGA 775 Push Pin Coolers - because you screw it down and it bottoms out and you know its in.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: LGA 2011 Sabertooth X79
I7 3820
Cooler Master 212 Plus with 2 fans (push pull) just fits between the 8 DIMMs

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for a new computer build. Wasn't 100% sure that system had the right kind mounting brace to use with my Intel Core i7-3820 (LGA 2011) CPU so I bought this just in case.

Cons: Not sure this was a necessary puchase. Wasn't obvious to me that there was a problem with the mounting brace that came with my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

2 out of 5 eggsNot an easy fit

Pros: You can't use the Hyper 212+ without one on an LGA2011 MB...

Cons: Like otherreviewers have found - the screws seem to be too short to reach the built in mounting holes on the LGA2011 MB. I have had 3 or 4 exchange emails with Coolmaster support and they don't seem to know what I am talking about. They keep directing me to the original stand-offs which don't fit (they are designed to go through the MB on prior sockets).

Other Thoughts: Would be great to get a clear answer. For now, I have backed off the screws so there is about one turn of thread holding each corner. That way the pressure on the MB mounting plate is minimum. Any more and the MD mounting plat starts to bend. Not good. (AUSU P9X79 Deluxe).

Manufacturer Response:

Hi markdav,

We are sorry to hear about your trouble. Please have the photos of the screws on hand. Are these the original screws that came with the hyper 212? Please contact us on live chat so we can rectify this asap.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Does the job it's meant to do.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You can get it free from CM, but it could take long, I did order them two weeks ago and still don't have them. Since I was a bit hurried to build my computer, I bought them it newegg.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Overall awesome product

2 out of 5 eggsNOT needed for 212 EVO

Pros: Works great for the 212 Plus! Only $4.99, so not a big ordeal if it doesn't work out.

Cons: As stated in an earlier review, this bracket is NOT necessary for the 212 EVO, and I found that out after I purchased it with the cooler. Refund request in progress.

I also had trouble trying to attach it to an ASUS Rampage IV Formula mobo. The screws were far too short, and I was not about to try and bend them to fit and risk damaging the mobo.

Other Thoughts: I should have paid closer attention to the 212 EVO description, but it was unclear whether or not this bracket was still required for 2011 sockets.

2 eggs due to the simple directions on the box not accurately identifying how to attach it to a mobo without bending the arms pretty substantially.

Overall, only $4.99 and easy to return so not a huge deal.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for any inconveniences we might have caused you. Are you have trouble installing the our 212 evo cpu cooler? It's always helpful having an extra hand during this process. 5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for the money!

Pros: This thing is a great cooler for the money. Idle temps around 25-29 C and under load I haven't broke 50 C. Additionally, there aren't very many LGA 2011 heatsinks to choose from and for a lower cost option it performs brilliantly paired with my I7-3820 OC'd to 4.4 GHz. Even comes with thermal paste, but I chose to use Arctic Silver.

Cons: None, really...

3 out of 5 eggsIt worked after a little engineering

Pros: Its holding my hyper 212 on the mobo as advertised.

Cons: I was a little confused by the instructions but managed to mentally muscle my way through it. All screws need to be lengthened by an 1/8 inch; if you threaded just one turn on one side, the other side would not seat.

Other Thoughts: My answer to the above was a pair of pliars and giving a slight bend to the right side arms. Im not really sure how much pressure you can apply before damaging the processor or mobo, so bending for me was easier. i am sure if I wanted I could have forced the four screws into the post holes
