3 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Tolerable performance, but it rediculously loud. All in all, you really can't expect much from such a cheap cooler, but it does get the job done well enough if you can stand the sound. After lapping the copper plug and switching to a better fan, this cooler works much better.

Comments: Extremely loud, but works really well. Keeps my AMD Athlon XP 2100+ under 45C all the time.

Comments: somehow, i just really like the way this fan looks in my case. The blue sides go really well with my red MSI k7n2 mobo. I think that it reads the temps too high, cuz it says my cpu is running at 55-60 deg. C. I think that it's a motherboard fluke, though. Anyway, it works.

Comments: It's WAY too noisey, ordered 2 to replace 2 SK-6&delta7000rpm combo, but after installed I found the the Volcano7 is even louder, Just RMA the Volcano7.

3 out of 5 eggsBeast

Comments: Volcano 7 cools well but it's way too noisy. The clamp requires a lot of force to attach, and I was sweating ... afraid to crack the core. The whole contraption is massive and a single clamp is barely adequate to hold it in place. This fan is not for people who want a quiet PC.

Comments: Have a Athlon XP 2100+ overclocked to a 2400+ with the Volcano 7. Temps running at 39C no load and 42C full load. Don't even notice a sound difference between my old stock HSF and the Volcano. Was kind of a pain to install but I say that about all heatsinks.

4 out of 5 eggsOk but not good as i expected

Comments: got my fan few days ago, this thing is heavier than my old coolermaster, but not as heavy as i thought it would be.
anyway the testing results are alright, i am getting 43 celsis idle, haven't tried games yet, but i am pretty sure it will top 50 from what i have seen. The noise gets really annoy when its above 4000rpm, my old coolermaster did the same thing at 4800rpm with not so much noise. my spec.

oh, one more thing, i used this with arctic silver 3, i would seriously doubt the result w/o using this thing, arctic silver 3 is really worthing the money, maybe i should try the coolermaster with arctic silver on...

4 out of 5 eggsBig fan, hard to install

Comments: This is a gigantic fan and very very heavy, if you are getting this make sure you get a shim. I had a very difficult time attaching this CPU which is why I gave it a 4/5. You can go to the manufacturer's website, www.thermaltake.com, for help.

Noise-wise isn't too bad, I have this along with a top and side fan, the power supply fan, and my graphics card fan, and the noise is alright. The Fan Speed Control is cool. The Volcano 7 also looks cool too, for those of you with window cases.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan!

Comments: I just built my first PC without a hitch. Got this fan because I do a lot of gaming and felt it was the cheapest bet over the factory AMD fan. I really wouldn't know if that's true or not, as I didn't get a chance to check the AMD fan temp. My buddy told me that installing the CPU fan was the hardest part, and I snapped it on the first try! I didn't buy any extra paste either. My CPU operates at about 45C and my Asus A7N8X is at about 29C under normal operation. I think that's good. I have a great case too. Newegg just RULES. They can't be beat.
