5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING! HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS NOW

Pros: I still cant believe it. I bought this in 2003 for christmas, cooling my AMD Athlon 2800+. It dropped the temp by about 10 degrees celsus... Then i upgraded my CPU to an AMD 64 4000+. I kept up with all the brackets, and put it on the 4000+. That processor ran at about 32 degrees to about 50 under load (hours of gaming), now, i just put it on my new X2 4200+. Its amazing. It runs at 30 to 55 degrees celsus, using artic silver 5 all three times. Understand. when in windows, i leave the fan turned all the way down, and in games, all the way up. i have had this fan for 3 years now, my pc is on about 90% of every day, of every year. Not a problem out of in in all these three years. It may not be the best, but if you want a reliable fan, running at 5200 rpm's, GET THIS!

Cons: Its loud at 5200 rpm's, iam not gonna lie, but you will get used to it. and if you use headphones, you dont hear it.

Other Thoughts: Like i said, i have had this same fan and heatskin for 3 years, i have changed processors 3 times, and its still running like brand new. AMD, ATI, THERMALTAKE, NEWEGG, AND FEDEX ROCK

4 out of 5 eggsNOT LOUD AT ALL

Pros: The cpu cooler comes with a copper heatsink and a fan. This fan can be controlled by the included adjustments: either the 3.5 bay or the pci slot in the back. I use the pci slot in the back and it works perfectly to control the speed of the fan.

if you dont have the fan hooked up to either the motherboard or the external controller, yes it will sound like a being 727 only because it is spinning at 5000+ rpm. This is for hardcore gamers with loud sound or headphones or if you are a video producer that needs to crank up the cpu power for the rendering speed.

I've had this heatsink and fan for quite a while now and it has not failed me at all. I always keep the fan at the lowest stock settings and it keeps my cpu down below 32C. I never overclock my CPU however.

Cons: Only con is that this CPU gets loud OVER 5000+. Interesting thing is that you can actually see the temperature decrease as you increase the fan speed. You can almost see the change instantaneously.

Other Thoughts: This cpu is not loud at all at stock settings, even at 2000 rpm it is doing a heck of a lot better than most other heatsink fans that ive had experience with.

cpus ive run:
amd athlon xp 3000+
amd x2 3800+
amd fx 55

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: The heatsink itself is a good quality build. It cools my P4 478 2.8 Prescott quite a bit.
It looks nice.

Cons: Can get loud, I have mine set so I can manually adjust the speed of the fan, after about half it gets really loud. Floppy controller is a bit cheap.

Other Thoughts: -1 Egg for cheap floppy controller.

2 out of 5 eggsWHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE FAN!!!!!

Pros: Cools the processor down to a non-lethal level ~40C idle, but it can spike up to about 72C at full load.

Cons: I intermittently yell to people in my house to stop vacuuming, even though they aren't. When they yell back, confused, they can't hear me. Ug.

Other Thoughts: Get it only if you listen to extremely loud punk rock music 24/7

2 out of 5 eggsUm. Sounds like an airport in my computer.

Pros: Ha, cools pretty well. But not really well.

Cons: Close your eyes and listen and you can hear a boeing 747 taking off right next to you. Adds great effects for flight simulator then. But if you want to do anything else this thing is sooooo loud it becomes impossible. So, don't make the same mistake. I went with the Freezer Pro 7 which is silent and works better.

5 out of 5 eggsFits the bill for a good cooler!

Pros: Very effective with bringing your CPU tempurature down at least 10 degrees celsius. Impressive looking copper heatsink. Fairly easy to install. I only need to run the fan about 1/3 for good results.

Cons: A little extra effort is required to install it. When the fan speed gets half way or farther the fan is very loud.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a good quality Phillips screw driver for small screws if you have to put the brakets (like K7) in the heatsink. Make sure you have an extra power supply dongle for the fan. Go for the PCI fan switch if you have the slot.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!

Pros: Installation couldnt be easier and the bottom of the heatsink was much flatter\smoother\reflective then several other brands of heatsinks I have owned. I ran several benchmarks with stock heatsink\fan and then ran the exact same benchmarks after I installed this and the results were amazing. This dropped my idle temps from 50C to 40C and my MAX LOAD temps from 70C to 55C! and thats with the fan on LOW! With the fan on full blast (although a little loud) it drops my idle to 38C and my MAX LOAD temps to 52C! Besides the preformance it looks great too!

Cons: The only cons I have is that the fan is VERY loud at full blast, but then again what can you expect for a 15 to 20 degree drop in temperature!

Other Thoughts: Price is not over the top and well worth it for the temperature drop. If your looking for a reasonably priced upgrade and want awesome cooling for you CPU then this is for you.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: this thing is wonderful. it drops my load 10C compared to stock h&f on my 3000+

Cons: the front bay fan speed control doesnt fit flush with my case, just feels weird.

Other Thoughts: a little bit of drilling solve my only con.
