OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
Keep your processor cool and add a bit of style to your desktop PC with Thermaltake's Blue Orb II heatsink-and-fan assembly. It's designed to work with both Intel LGA775 and AMD K8-based processors--including dual core models--thanks to the bundled universal adapter. A copper core allows for rapid heat transfer and increased thermal conductivity to the 140-fin aluminum circular heatsink.

Thermaltake's patented Radian Crotched Fin design provides increased air flow. The silent 120mm, blue-LED fan at the center of the heatsink pulls cooler air into the fins forcing heat out and away from the processor. The light also adds some flash to your system, perfect if you have a see-through side panel on your case.

This thing is huge...

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: It cools great my cpu idles at 100F. Would probably be cooler but I have a silent case. Blows air on my ram. Moves a good ammount of air for being all but silent.
Cons: If someone threw it at you, you would be dead, it weighs so much. It isn't exactly the easiest thing to install. It's a bit tough to get both screws threaded without putting quite a bit uf pressure on the cpu and the fan blades gets in the way from pushing down the screws.
Other Thoughts: The reason it blows a good ammount of air on the memory is because it is literally ontop of my left ram slot so I had to slip in the ram chip before installing. It also covers up a good chunk of my mobo so much so I even had a bit of trouble slipping in my PSU but that was mostly because of my case. Overall I would reccomend it as a heatsink and a weapon.

May need modifying

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Great price, great name. Cooling capacity excellent for the money
Cons: Takes up quite a bit of room, kind of low cooling fins. IT WILL NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX FOR ALL MOTHERBOARDS! I had to modify the cooling fins, by way of grinding it down, to make it clear the cooling fins of the onboard Nvidia chipset on my new EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
Other Thoughts: Research the mobo and this product BEFORE buying, to make sure you have sufficient clearance.

Awesome CPU fan!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Super-easy to install!!! Super quiet! Blue!
Cons: Big - definitely do your homework on measuring up. Anyone who complains about size on this one obviously did not look at the numbers!
Other Thoughts: This was the absolute easiest CPU fan I have ever installed! Fit nicely on my ASRock K8Upgrade-VM800 Socket 754 Motherboard with Sempron CPU. Very, very simple and Thermaltake's tech support was fairly quick to respond about my questions concerning distance around the fan. Only thing I had to do when installing in my Black Chiefmax FC-DV21M case was to leave it loose while sliding the motherboard back in so I could get around a corner. Other than that very easy.

monster cooling

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Big, solid build, great cooling. Works just as good as 1 of those 120mm towers as long as you do not oc to insane limits. Blue lights are bright but not too bright.
Cons: the 1 i bought in 2006 didnt come with the AM2 mounting bracket but it worked in my Apevia Qpack cube with a socket 939 motherboard. By the time i got around to building my AM2 system I just didnt use it. I still have it and keep it on my desk at work (Computer system builder) All the guys at work like to play around with it and hook it up to motherboards just to see it power on. it still works almost 4 years later! so not a con realy.
Other Thoughts: I am buying another as I am building a new Qpack2 media center PC. parts will be ordered this week and I can't wait to have another in action.

the new build will be
Asus M4a785TD EVO
AMD PhenomII X2 550 black edition
2x 2gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600
WD 500gb Black 32mb buffer
Sapphire HD5770 Vapor-x
Asus Blu-Ray drive
Asus Wireless N card PCIEx1
My 32inch 1080P TV
This bad boy cooler
And world of warcraft ofcourse.

I am sure this will get the job done with no problems. I plan to push the cpu to atleas 3.5ghz with this!

The Energizer Heatsink

Pros: Powerfull, fairly quiet, cools very well
Cons: HUGE... Lights (if you don't like 'em)
Other Thoughts: I got this years ago for a AM2 89 watt processor when I did a "showboat" rig... lots of windows and lights. Changed out for a Artic Cooler when lights kept me up at night. Changed mobos to a AM2+ and wound up changing cases to a Apevia Qpack (micro cube) - Artic wouldn't fit.. but this bugger BARELY slides under and cools the dang near everything (Exhaust fan blows out COLD air!) about to go AM2 quad (95w) and I'm going to keep using this bugger for a few more years!
