ICON Loading...

So, you want to keep your memory cool but you don't want to plug in another fan? Thermaltake has your solution in the CL-R2006. Their Spirit RS heat spreader keeps things cool with a 6mm heatpipe and aluminum fins. The fins dramatically increase the surface area for heat dissipation. And as everyone knows the more surface area, the better cooling performance it provides. The angle adjustable design maximizes compatibility and enhances cooling efficiency.

Thermaltake's very name shows their focus on taking the heat so your system doesn't have to. They "take" the "thermal" problem away from high-powered systems. Take advantage of their experience and expertise with the Thermaltake CL-R2006!

  • newegg Highly-efficient Heat Conduction The Thermaltake CL-R0026 features a superb heatpipe thermal module for highly-efficient heat conduction.
  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Thermaltake CL-R0026's aluminum extruded heat spreader provides more heat dissipation surface for outstanding cooling performance.
  • newegg Maximized Compatibility The Thermaltake CL-R0026 features an innovative angle adjustable design for maximum compatibility.

5 out of 5 eggsextremely useful

Pros: over one year using this ram heatsink experience. this thing fit ANY ram and cool down the temp right the way.

Cons: NONE. just make sure renew the Thermal Compound between heatsink and heat pipe every 12 or 18 months.

5 out of 5 eggsCool boards last longer

Pros: If you plan on running intensive applications, you need these, they really do cool the memory chips. Assembly was actually easy once I developed a technique.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Be aware that the cushions are very pliable-if you pull the tape on one side and set on the plate then pull the tape off the other side, the cushion will elongate just like clay so pull the tape slowing. If you must trim, use a sharp knife and only cut against the aluminum plate. Don't forget to add the thermal grease to the heatpipe.

5 out of 5 eggsWork Good

Pros: Slim in design so you can use all of your memory slots. For me they are great. Using DDR2 800. Use to crash when I started getting the memory close to 1000. Runs stable and cool at 1000.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Been using Thermaltake products for a while and not once have they let me down, yet.

4 out of 5 eggsUseless to me

Pros: They look cool.

Cons: Make sure your RAM does not come with heatsinks already, they are likely not removable.

Other Thoughts: Bought to put on some Corsair RAM, but later found out the heatsinks are bonded to the ICs and are not removable. My bad for not doing more research. I'll have to put these on some older memory I have laying around.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Noticeable drop in temperature and increase in performance

Cons: Not the easiest installation in the world but most of that problem was due to the stock heat spreaders on my ballistix tracers.

Other Thoughts: I do a lot of LANs in small areas with a lot of computers and these heat sinks have stopped all the lag that I got when the room starts getting 90+ degrees F. Before installing the heat sinks, I pretty much burned myself trying to feel the RAM and now they never overheat.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Heat Pipe for RAM

Pros: Thin fin design... Product pictures do not show that the fins on this product are barely wider than the heat pipe itself, allowing you to stack four in a row without any problems. Fins are 30mm long (Vertical to RAM) and provide more than adequate temperature difference. Heat pipe is long enough to go the entire length of aluminum heat spreader, has high quality thermal pads for modules and paste for the heat pipe.

Cons: The only “con” is remembering where you keep the allen wrench if you ever decide to remove it from the RAM modules.

Other Thoughts: I have never been disappointed in the Thermaltake products that I have purchased. Heat pipe technology is awesome. It gives almost the same results as water cooling without the possibility of leaks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Everything. It does it job, stays cool to the touch and have never had a problem with whatever DIMMs were under these. Looks great too, especially with the right LED positioning.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish they were a bit cheaper but that goes for everything. I've got 4 DIMMs in my comp and two of them have these spreaders. Havn't ever had a problem with them. The other two are using stock heatspreaders and They fart out on me within 20 minutes at > DDR900 speeds. Has to be a temp problem cause memtest initially goes fine. I'm planning on getting two more of these for those two and i'll watch as my mem problems disappear.

5 out of 5 eggsIf your memory has a heatsink, don't buy it!

Pros: I gave it an excellent rating because I don't want to give a negative review for my mistake. In short, if your memory has built in heatsinks, it won't really fit.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsMessy

Pros: Cools the ram well, and the fin bar is adjustable so you can get them away from other componants. Instructions could use some work, was about to apply the thermal paste to the pads till i realised the pads were sticky themselves and required the plastic to be pealed off.

Cons: More of a user type deal, but make sure you remember how your ram was seated. usualy there is a Notch or bolt that needs to be in a cwertain direction, cause the heat spreaders make it difficult too see, was getting frustrated because the ram would not go in. So now i have the heat spreaders facing two different directions because i did not notice that.

Other Thoughts: Seems to me like the temp difference is only a few degrees different, tho it seems it takes alot longer for the RAM to heat up, so I'll take that as a sign of working. Would recomend Good airflow in the case reguardless. With out it these aren't going to make much difference.

3 out of 5 eggsObsolete item

Pros: They'd look cool?

Cons: Don't fit up-to-date gaming/high performance DIMMs.

Other Thoughts: Gave rating of 3 because I can't use them. I wanted my newly built gaming rig to be as cool, powerful, stable, and last as long as possible.

But if you get RAM with current heatspreaders, even Single Sided DIMMs, these won't fit. Since I don't see any current high performance RAM without heatspreaders - I deem these obsolete with their current design.
