Just as there's no such thing as too much power, there's no such thing as too much cooling. Thermaltake brings high-powered cooling to AMD and Intel users – and does it with style. The CL-P0478 GunMet Orb – the latest in their Orb family of CPU coolers. Geared to support gamers and high-end enthusiasts in their battle against excess heat, the GunMet Orb features 140 crotched fins – shaped like tree branches in profile – radially arrayed around an 80mm 1800RPM fan.
The patented fin design provides superior airflow and maximum surface area for efficient heat dissipation with multi-directional heat exhaust. The ultra-quiet 17dBA sound level and white LED in the fan provide a whisper-silent, stylish addition to your system.
The GunMet Orb brings quiet cooling to both Intel Socket LGA775 processors and AMD Socket AM2 and AM2+ CPUs. Intel Core 2 Quad, -Extreme, and –Duo processors are supported as are Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D systems. Athlon 64, -X2 and FX chips along with Sempron CPUs can also benefit from the cooling caress of the GunMet Orb.

- Pros: Quieter than my case fan, lol. Keeps my AMD 64x2 5400 at 25*C idle.
- Cons: Blue light; I hate case lighting. Pretty big; I had to get creative with the wiring, and looks like it might be blocking 1 of the RAM slots.
- Other Thoughts: I was surprised it fit into my Antec Minuet350 case.
Works Very Well
- Pros: Very quiet and looks great. keeps AMD 4000+ at 28C.
- Cons: It is large, however in my case this was not an issue.
- Other Thoughts: I lapped my CPU before i bought this cooler, and my temps were around 35C, with the new cooler i dropped 7C. well worth the price.
