1 out of 5 eggsWorst Fan Ever

Coming Soon!

Pros: A case fan that moves air quietly if it feels like spinning. Thermaltake makes cool stuff, and I like.

Cons: These are the worst DC case fans I had the misfortune of using. They "2 fans to be exact" came with the case Xaser VI series case that I bought. They had a life span of roughly 8 months with them operating anywhere of 8-14 hours per day. One day I noticed that my hard drive temps were really high compared to what they normally are via software in Windows Tray. I open the side of the case and I see the fan probably doing 50 RPM also being extremely hot to the touch and say to myself well that's what the other people said it do on newegg review section. So I remove it and put the other same fan by the HDD cage and hope to myself maybe this one was a bad one but the one still working will be OK. 36 days later I smell burning circuit board. There it was not spinning, big surprise. Also the fan blades are sharp as razors and cut my thumb 1mm deep while I was putting the video together just by pushing the fan blade because it was suffering from rigor mortis and didn't want to spin.

Other Thoughts: When the case was newly released I noticed a flashy new fan that looked cool and seemed impressive on their website with all its features it had. At the time I was excited for a new product from Thermaltake that was included in a case that I wanted.

If you buy this fan you need to think of a tissue box and how fast that type of product is consumed and thrown away. That would be this fan.

In short Do not get this fan. I really do believe this fan is Defective and has flaws in its design somewhere and I also feel the price to be a little high even if it did work "MSRP.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan! Short Life Span!

Pros: Great powerful fan, it is capable of moving large amount of air.

Cons: This is the second of one these i have had to purchase in the last 3 years. It seems that these fans have a history of breaking withing a few years of purchase

Other Thoughts: They are not super expensive so replacing them one or twice every 3-4 years is not horrible at least for me

Manufacturer Response:

Hi AndrewJ,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace defective fan under warranty service. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for RMA instructions.
Best Regards,

4 out of 5 eggsNeeds more grease!

Pros: Quiet, moves lots of air
Thermaltake customer service

Cons: Quickly gets noisy
Very little grease applied to the sleeve bearing
Wish they sold the black versions that came in my case

Other Thoughts: The fans that came in my case became noisy within the first week, Thermaltake was quick and friendly in replacing them.

After installing the new fan and having it do the same in even less time I figured I would fix it myself. Its really a simple solution to the noise issues, the fan seems to come with very little to no grease on the bearing. Taking this apart and adding a little bearing grease silenced it instantly and mine have been running fine for well over two years now.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality Fans

Pros: Worked great when they were new...

Cons: Over priced. Both are now dead. The first died after a few months. The second died a few months ago.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I heard you aren't supposed to mount sleeve bearing fans horizontally. You would expect a fan to just work no matter how it is angled. I expected more from Thermaltake. I even have 15 year old generic fans in my old AT case that still work...

1 out of 5 eggsPathetic

Pros: Pros? Easy to remove for disposal.

Cons: It exists.

Other Thoughts: This came with the great Armor+ case and when I was booting up I had my pinky finger too close to the rear fan and 2 blades broke upon contact..of my PINKY.

1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE quality

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: I have two in my full tower, both of which became fully seized within 6 months of installation. Way too expensive for such a short life span

Other Thoughts: Xigmatec is better

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth it

Pros: rather smooth fan. and fits

Cons: hmmn where to start.. ive bought two and after 2-3weeks one was making grinding noise so rmaed to get a replacement with the same problem, ive always hand to open the case and stop it by hand otherwise to make it stop grinding on bootup. so now im on the 3rd with the same problem and now the other one is having the same problem.. also thermaltake only offers warranty replacements and not refunds. soo goodluck if you buy and get stuck with grinders.

Other Thoughts: only bought cuz they were red and matched my design of blue for intake and reds for exhaust. all my CM 120mm fans have been working flawlessly.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth it at Half the price

Pros: It Fits in a 140 MM slot and runs quietly.

Cons: Cheap sleeve bearing dies - not very dust resistant. This will start to make noise after a few months and then completely jam up. cheap and flimsy fan

Other Thoughts: This is the identical unit that came in the front of my Thermaltake full tower case. Even thought filtered it eventually succumbed to dust. May last longer in an exhaust position.

I bought a very expensive Thermaltake case and I was surprised at the poor quality control. 1/2 the expansion ports were not properly die cut so the punchouts would not come out. Had to cut with a dremel. I would have returned but the shipping would have been expensive.

Though the case was well designed, the shoddy QA and cheap components (fans, drive trays, door latch mechanism, etc.) have me saying I won't buy anything from Thermaltake again.

Neither should you.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible, do not buy!

Pros: Moves air.

Cons: This will be my 4th failure out of 4 of these fans.
Bought two for my Cosmos and one of them died, then the other started making noises, loud noises. Newegg quickly shipped me 2 new fans, but after 2 months, they both are now making horrible noises.

Other Thoughts: I have these installed in the top 2 fans spots in my Cosmos 1000 case. Do not buy these, they will work fine for a while, then die or make very loud vibration noises.
Do not buy!
