Thermaltake AF0018 ISGC Fan 12 120mm Case Fan

Pros: #1 Adjustable speed
#2 very quiet shipped case fans rated @ 22 dec are actually louder that these at half speed which is the same rpm.
#3 Long-life bearing, yeah that's right silenx get your bearings right.
#4 ships with rubber mounts takes a lot longer to install and may not be quieter than regular mounts.
#5 Ships with standard molex converter, Long cables for good management of cables.
#6 Pushes a lot of air while maintaining low noise environment.

Cons: NONE.

Pros: Attractive. The bearing promises 50k hours of use. No blinding blinking LED. I'm not in my case at night without a torch so I just don't need an LED. But I'm a practical sort. Speed is adjustable. Everything required for installation in the box. Fan comes wired with a chassis 3-pin and has a 3-pin to molex adapter in the box. Black standard clockwise twist steel fan screws and a surprise, some interesting looking rubber mount option plug thingies about the girth of a peice of eight to use instead of screws for vibration dampening methinks. I used the screws because I couldn't get my fingers back behind/around my CPU fan and ps to pull the rubber mounts into place to keep the fan as I mounted it aft. So these mounts went into my "for later use/other projects" bin. I would have used them otherwise.

Cons: It's kind of a market ploy to say quiet and then say max rpm 1300. Loads of fans are quiet at 1300rpm. I am sure if we spun this bugger up to a goo 1800 or 2000rpm she'd purr with the rest of the howlers.

Other Thoughts: Fan tip design is like the extra winglet on the Boeing. 1.5% efficiency increase. Yay?
I like it though.

Pros: not bad has own controler .

Cons: needs to be faster.no more output than other comparable fans.

Other Thoughts: i perfer the af12-pwm over this thermaltake anyday and at 6.99 much cheaper & higher quality to.

Pros: Quiet, with in line fan speed controller. Set to high and still quiet as a mouse

Pros: completely silent 1,000 rpm or below.Construction seems solid.

Cons: This fan makes a really annoying sound after 1,000 rpms.It is more annoying then a 80mm at 2,000 rpm(of course some fans are different then others.But most of the time they are very loud at this speed).

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a quieter solution for cooling my 3 hdds.I have the rpm around 950ish and its completely silent but does not move that much air.My hdd went from 20-25 C(Basic thermaltake 120mm) to 30-35 C.If this fan was quiet up to 1500 it would be great.But it makes a unique annoying sound after 1000.I do not recommend this fan.

Pros: Snapped into the front fan support, plugged into the MB and fired up. No bearing noise, no appreciable air turbulence noise. Even with the speed control set to the highest, MB will still control the speed. Case has 2 120mm fans for intake and exhaust, along with 2 7200 hdd's. Hdd's are mounted in front of this fan and stay cool to the touch. Good cool exhaust air volume. Case interior temp is excellent. Computer is on the floor and I can't hear anything.

Cons: Don't really have any yet. If it dies before its rated 50,000 hours I'll let you know.

Other Thoughts: Power cord could be a bit longer but was perfect for my application (mid tower case). After reading some of the other more negative reviews it sounds like they could be describing another fan model.

Pros: *SILENT
*Adjustable Speed
*BEST noise/airflow ratio hands down
*Average Lifespan is rated much higher then other fans

Cons: *Not as much airflow as other 120mm fans
*Expensive compared to your average fan - then again, this is no average fan =]

Other Thoughts: I didn't know that my 5200 rpm "silent" drive by Western Digital actually made noise until i swapped this fan into my case. Airflow is a bit less, but not much more so, and there is absolutely no noise from the fan - the closest thing to it is the whisper of passing air when the fan is on high, but even on high, there is no noise from mechanical parts in the fan.

Overall, very pleased with my purchase and will buy again

Pros: Extremely quiet. Hydrodynamic Bearing lasts much longer than other types of bearing fans. Great design for airflow, as it pushes a lot of air.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers stated that this model is loud, and then they name drop another product. They are branded. I would recommend trying this product for yourself. I have found this to be the best type of bearing fan on the market, even better than other Thermaltake fans that do not use Hydrodynamic Bearings. I even replaced my CPU heatsink fans with these.

Pros: Fan speed knob (inline). It's quiet when power is turned down. It moves air.

Cons: The speed knob isn't mounted to the fan, It's inline so it's hard to operate. The fan is white... should be black so it doesn't look like a daisy. Loud at full speed.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it another star if it was cheaper, and another if it was all black and actually quiet at high speed. I know, I know, I'm asking the world of this fan. It would actually be a nice fan if it didn't look like a white flower, I'm thinking about spray painting it black since I see it in the top of my (daisy) case.

Pros: * Effective
* Quiet
* Inexpensive
* No silly LEDs.

Cons: * None so far, unless one counts "so quiet I can now hear other fans running" as a con.

Other Thoughts: Bought it as a case fan. Due to CPU cooler and case constraints could not use it that way (certainly not the fan's fault!). Wound up using it as an additional CPU cooling fan. At first I thought one of the new fans (one came with the CPU cooler) was making noise. Nope. Changed fan speed, disconnected one, the other and such. Turns out I'm hearing a fan alright... one on the video card.
