1 out of 5 eggsWorst fan ever

Pros: Works fine for a little while.

Cons: I have about 25 servers with this fan/heatsink combo and I've replaced almost all of them. The fan eventually seizes up and stops spinning. DON'T BUY THE TR2-M21 RX The fan will fail for sure.

Other Thoughts: I've emailed Thermaltake about the problem but they don't seem to care they sell a faulty product.

3 out of 5 eggsGood fan

Pros: Good fan for price, good cooling

Cons: after a while my fan started vibrating a lot and creates a very loud buzzing sound that is very vexing.

Other Thoughts: Would be a great product if fan didn't vibrate

2 out of 5 eggsNot that great

Pros: Small and compact heatsink, copper core and better design than OEM heatsink.

Cons: Garbage fan. Loudest thing in my case by far. Fan lasted about 3 months in my WHS so replaced it with a PWM Scythe 92mm fan as suggested in a prior post.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest to avoid this as there are many better units available. Guess I should have paid more attention to the feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsWish it were a variable-speed fan...

Pros: It keeps my CPU and system nice and cool. CPU is 6C less than stock under full load, 2C less than stock at idle.

Under full load, it makes less noise than the stock HSF, which speeds up to 2900 RPM. Lower noise, lower temps... what more could you ask for?

Cons: At idle, it's too noisy. The stock HSF would slow down to 1800 RPM and be whisper-quiet while keeping the CPU at 34C, but this one stays at 2200 RPM.

That means more noise and lower temps where lower temps don't really matter.

Other Thoughts: Stock:
Idle: 1800 RPM, 20 dB, 34C CPU, 30C system;
Load: 2900 RPM, 35 dB, 62C CPU, 36C system;

TT TR2:
Idle: 2200 RPM, 24? dB, 32C CPU, 29C system;
Load: 2200 RPM, 24? dB, 56C CPU, 34C system.

CPU: First-generation Core 2 Duo, E6600 (2.4 GHz). The clock speed goes down to 1.6 GHz at idle.

3 out of 5 eggscrazy loud

Pros: the only big pro was that i could take the fan off and use it for passive cooling.

Cons: crazy loud with fan on, no way the specs are correct on noise level. it may be that the one i got had a bad fan on it but i just pulled it off and plugged a nearby case fan into the cpu fan header

Other Thoughts: i do like the heat-sink without the fan if it was sold that way i would give it 5 stars. keeps the cpu cool at all times with no overclock.

1 out of 5 eggsfan lasted 9 months

Pros: None

Cons: overpriced for low quality

Other Thoughts: Fan should have lasted much longer. My machine is only on a few hours each night and off during the daytime.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Run

Pros: This fan did exactly what it was supposed to do; It kept my CPU cool, and was very quiet. Even while playing Crysis I didn't notice that the fan was on, not to mention speeding up a lot due to the rigors of Crysis. This fan lasted me two years.

Cons: Lasted two years, which I believe is quite a while for a fan, before something inside it shook lose and because very loud. Didn't break, just got very loud.

Other Thoughts: Kinda heavy, but doesnt take up a lot of space.
