The TR2 range of coolers were created by Thermaltake to provide efficient CPU cooling solutions for those on a budget. The TR2 coolers are designed to provide reliable, effective, heat reduction for current processors. The A4022 doesn't cut corners in regards to cooling. Its all-aluminum base provides optimal thermal conductivity of damaging heat away from the CPU. The 92mm fan spins at 1300 RPM and moves over 35 CFM of cooling air over the aluminum convection fins at a quiet 16 dBA noise level.

The A4022 installs quickly and easily – and without tools – using retention clips to provide good contact with the CPU's heat spreader. This highly rated cooler will help protect your investment on AMD socket 754, 939 and AM2 processors, such as AMD Athlon 64 X2, AMD Athlon 64 FX or Sempron processor.

  • newegg 92mm Silent Fan The 92mm 900 ~ 1700 RPM silent cooling fan operates at a mere 16dBA for quiet cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGood replacement heatsink

Pros: Quiet
Works with, AM2+, AM3, AM3+
Had it for over 2 years, still going strong.

Cons: 3 pins on connector, no speed control.

Bigger than standard AMD coolers.

Best suited for ATX sized boards, but will work in mATX as long as the RAM is spaced out enough, or low profile RAM.

Other Thoughts: I love this cooler. Had it since I built my PC over 2-3 years ago. It is pretty big compared to a stock AMD cooler, but it is very quiet. I've gone through 3 CPUs and 2 motherboards with this heatsink. From AM2+ to AM3 to AM3+.

It looks a little big on my current mATX board, and it almost blocked one of my RAM slots, almost.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This HSF reduced idle and load temps on my system significantly (idle temps are roughly 10c cooler). compared to the stock unit I was using before. This unit also outputs much less fan noise.

It was simple to install on my Socket 939 mobo (just latch one side, then latch the other, then turn the lever), and it moves a lot of air for its size.

Cons: It's a little ugly, to be honest.

Other Thoughts: I have an aging Athlon 64 X2 4400+ at 2.2GHz, and it was in the habit of running a little warm. With Summer's increase in ambient temperatures around the corner, I wanted to pick up a new HSF that would keep my temps manageable, and it looks like this model will do that admirably.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Heatsink for C32 Socket

Pros: Fits on C32 socket, keeps the CPU cool.
Easy to install.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these on a Dual Opteron ASUS KCMA-D8 and 2 more on a SUPERMICRO MBD-H8DCL-IF-O. The processors on the Asus hover around 19 degrees Celsius idle, and about 30-32 on full load. (running in my basement which is usually cool)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Fan!

Pros: The fan that came with my AMD Phenom processor only cooled the CPU down to about 60 to 65 C. After installing this fan it is now running at around 40 to 45C! This fan is very effective and extremely quiet. It generates a ton of air flow at low rpm's thanks to the steep pitch of the blades. The heat sink is also very large which allowing great heat dissipation.

Cons: The only con I can think of would be the size. I was a little worried at first that it would come into contact with the RAM modules, but there was still some clearance after all.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, powerful Fan

Pros: I have an old processor X2 4200+ which the original CPU fans runs like sports car exhaust pipe. I can't download stuff at night because the noise would make me sick. So I search online and find this budget fan, it is quiet and decrease the CPU temp by around 10 degrees (compare the OEM fan).

Cons: No complaint so far

5 out of 5 eggsFits in my slim case!

Pros: Great performance, and quiet enough. It JUST BARELY FITS in my MicroATX slim case - an older version of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147098

Cons: Size. This thing is larger than you expect. The fan housing is almost as tall as the heat sink itself, and the space between my RAM heat spreaders and the heat sink is a paper thin. Plan ahead.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: This CPU cooler is very quiet and keeps the processor cool. I really like that it comes with thermal paste on it already because it saves the mess of applying it yourself.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent CPU cooler especially for the price.
