Other Thoughts: This fan perfectly accomplishes the simple task Thermaltake inteded it for. Small for factor cooling. Nothing more nothing less.

I've had the fan/heatsink combo in over 20 systems for 1+ years and just bought 5 more due to reliability. It keeps the E3-12XX V1/V2 procs decently cooled (est 35C with AC5 @idle and under 75C @load)

It's a great fan I just wish it was around $15 but you cant win them all.

Pros: One of the only CPU coolers I could find to fit a Celeron 540 Skt 1155 in an Apex MI-100 ITX case. Overall height of fan and heatsink combined is only 36mm and I doubt I had more than another 1/4" (6mm) to spare. The stock Intel cooler, although small, was still too tall to fit.

Cons: 1. Price is outrageous (29.95) for what it is.
2. Cooling is not improved over stock, but I knew that going in. CPU idles at 40-45c and moderate load pushes it well over 50c. I suspect that it is actually worse than the stock cooler.
3. Given the small size of the fan, it can get really loud when pushed. Speedfan gave me 2,800 rpm at load. However, if you set your bios to keep it below 1,800 then the noise is bearable, even for HTPC use. But you're toasting the CPU, a bit.

Other Thoughts: I love the mounting system, although others may not. (It is similar to Coolermaster mounting). You must remove the board to mount the cooler which screws through from the back of the board. I much prefer this to the "push-pin" system which requires that you place a lot of force on the board, especially with an ITX board where there's barely enough room to get your fingers in. Only problem would be that there are capacitors on the back side of some ITX boards.

i5 2320 hits 76c full load Vs the stock cooler held it at 71c.

Does not perform better then stock.

Other Thoughts: Should note my Case has no fans, I'm sure the temps would have been lower with both the Slim X3 and stock, but the stock Intel cooler is still better it just won't fit when I put the power supply in.

Use it if you need a slim line cooler and the stock won't fit.
Stick to lower wattage CPUs a 65watt would have probably been fine temp wise.

Pros: Solid construction.
Attaches to mobo via screws rather than clips.
Low profile enough to fit in my ITX desktop (Antec ISK 310-150)

Cons: As many users have reported, it started to make a horrid rattling noise about eight months of having it installed. A good tap to the fan head keeps it quite only for a short while.

Other Thoughts: It really is a nice little low profile CPU cooler. If only the fan wasn't a piece of junk.

Pros: Purchased to replace stock intel cooler, the little prongs kept pulling through the mother board so I needed something that had a low profile, and would attached to board, seems the holes in the mother board were too large, MB defect I guess. I've had this unit since May 2011, from Sept 2011 to roughly March, April, it ran 24X7 in an HTPC hosting my ceton tuner, PC is still used as a full purpose HTPC, but only on as required for Live TV. Tuner is now in my server.

Cons: thinker fan option, 4 heat pipes maybe for higher TDP processors

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on the cooling, I don't OC, and over heating was never an issue, as mentioned above, I needed a low profile cooler that would attach from the under side of the MB, stock cooler would not stay attached to the MB. This guy has been going strong, I cleaned out the head sink 9/14, figured it was time, and noted with the case open, the fan was barely audible. For stock replacement, it's not a bad option.

Pros: cheap. small, perfect for 65 watt cpu

Cons: Because it only vents out 2 sides it would not work for the asrock z77E-itx. the mem on one side and the board heatsink on the other blocked air flow. could not rotate 90* it would hit the Caps on the board.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these fans and they seem to work just fine. However, I was swapping out a Sandy Bridge CPU from a ZOTEC Z86 Wifi Supreme motherboard. I fired it up and it wouldn't post. I thought maybe I bent some pins or something. I took it apart and saw that 2 corners of the chip had cracked and been bent. Obviously this was my fault and not the fan, I overtightened 2 of the screws. Just be careful when you install it, finger tight with enough thermal grease should be good.

Pros: This a very good CPU Fan cooler, i dropped this sucker into a small form factor PC (Acer Aspire X3950), with a horrible stock fan cooler running at 1,200 rpm, the Slim X3 managed to drop my temps by almost 35 C ( with the help of Arctic 5 comp.).

Cons: But as i was installing this onto my motherboard, I discovered that the first fin came lose to where you can wobble it back and fourth a decent amount. Also the mfr. claims the installation to be easy, but i had to tear off my motherboard from the chassis to bolt it down from the other side.

Other Thoughts: Overall, so far so good with it. Not the best but when you have a SFF PC (or limited amount of space) you pretty much have to go with what they offer.

Pros: I couldn't find a good review of this product online so I decided to do some work myself.

I used this cooler on a i3 2120 attached to a Biostar TH61 ITX in a Sugo SG05BB-450. I used Prime95 to conduct a 1 hour, 100% load test of each configuration.

Conclusion: This cooler will reduce temperatures at idle load and performs just as well as the stock cooler at full load while taking up much less space.

Cons: It was not immediately clear, nor in the instructions, how far to tighten down the screws that hold the cooler on. I went with finger tight plus 1/2 turn with a screwdriver and that seemed to work fine.

Other Thoughts: This cooler is not made for your overclocked or even stock speed i5 2500K (95W). It is rated for processors below 75W.
