2 out of 5 eggsIgnored Customer Support

Pros: Good, cheap, and quiet for about 1 month, then starts to get loud.

Cons: -Sounds like the bearings are scraping to together.
-Emailed Thermaltake customer support with no response for a month and counting.
-Bough two of these with the same problem for both.

Other Thoughts: I recommend spending a little more to get better quality. Avoid purchasing this item, since it is known to go bad in a short amount of time.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Adrian,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace defective cooling fan through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions.

1 out of 5 eggsNot even worth ten bucks

Pros: It installed easily.

Cons: Fan became crazy loud less than a week into use.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom 8550. Put it in the circular file bin, not worth wasting my time with RMA.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace defective cooling fan through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions. This CPU cooler is designed for CPUs up to 65W TDP. But TDP of AMD Phenom 8850 is 95W. This may cause CPU overheat and other issue.

1 out of 5 eggsNot even worth ten bucks

Pros: It looks like a cpu cooler and it installed ok.

Cons: Appears to use the worse fan possible.

Other Thoughts: Installed on an AMD Phenom 8550 for less than a week. Noticed noise coming from unit. Luckily before delivery to my customer. Very sketchy fan unit makes incredible racket intermittently. Not worth my time to attempt RMA. Ordering another CPU cooler (not thermaltake).

1 out of 5 eggsAweful.

Pros: It cooled my CPU before it died.

Cons: Go with something else. The fan on this died less than 1 month in. I had to put the stock AMD cooler back into my HTPC and it actually dropped the CPU temp by 9 degrees.

Avoid.

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't last

Pros: This fan / cooler has kept my CPU cool for quite a while.

Cons: Has recently started making a ton of noise and finally gave up the ghost after about 18 months. I've had other aftermarket CPU fans last for years and years.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Chris,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace that defective fan through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions.

1 out of 5 eggsDescription is wrong.

Pros: It's a heatsink fan.

Cons: Claims to be compatible with socket 939 but comes with no bracket or converter to make it fit. All it is is a heatsink with a lever that clamps it down to.... nothing. I read that it was compatible with 939 and now this seems like a pointless buy.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mike,
Retention bracket usually is prvided/preinstalled by motherboard manufacturers.

4 out of 5 eggsGood buy

Pros: It does its job, for what you would expect out of a cheaper class heatsink. Keeps an older AMD Black Quad under 100F at all times and is relatively quiet for 10$.

Cons: Wish it clipper down better

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, works right... after about 5 minutes, came with thermal grease pre applied

Cons: was a little frustrating to install, after second day of having upon startup it makes a horrid grinding noise after five minutes it disappears but its something really worth noting.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a really cheap cooler this is it, but you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent standard cooling fan

Pros: As I've never had any problems with Thermaltake products, I wasn't surprised that I had none with this purchase. I had ran out of fans in my shop which prompted me to order this fan assembly from newegg. Installation of this fan/heatsink was quick and easy.

Cons: None noted
