Designed for Over-clocker King, the Thermaltake Frio OCK boasts a whooping heat dissipation capacity of 240 W which is clearly leading the pack. The Frio OCK comes with six 6mm high-efficiency U-shape heatpipes that effectively transport heat from the nickel-coated copper base into the giant dual-tower heatsink featuring 0.4mm aluminum fins. Also included are dual powerful 130mm VR OC fans, each of which can generate a massive airflow of up to 121 CFM for intense heat dispersion. Fan speeds are adjustable from 1,200 to 2,100rpm using the included VR controller.

Frio OCK’s design concept captures and embodies currently prevailing computer game elements, in particular the dazzling cover is resembling a firm and powerful Bunker as inspired by the popular PC game StarCraft II. Besides top-notch performance, particular attention is paid to ease-of-use, convenience and compatibility with a universal installation kit for all current Intel and AMD sockets including LGA1155. With Frio OCK, it probably has never been easier to become a true Overclocking King in your own right.

  • newegg Ultimate Overclocking Thermal Structure Design, Support up to 240W. Premium thermal grease, nickel-plated copper base and 6 U-shape heatpipes maximize heat transfer from the CPU into the giant dual tower heatsink for rapid dissipation. In addition, the heatsink with 0.4mm aluminum fins provides large surface for heat dissipation, while tower side flow design efficiently increases airflow and ventilation created by the dual fans.
  • newegg Dual 130mm VR OC Fans Both fans are designed to work in tandem as a push-pull-combination where one fan pushes cold air over the tower fins, while the other fan on the opposite site pulls out hot air and then exhausts it through the case’s back side. A convenient single VR control knob adjusts both fans in parallel to guarantee optimized airflow and maximize cooling efficiency. The 130mm high pressure OC fans can be tuned between 1200 RPM for normal quiet operation and up to 2100 RPM under extreme OC circumstances.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Frio OCK comes with an all-in-one backplate design supporting all mainstream Intel and AMD platforms including Intel LGA 1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: When it comes to most efficient and well constructed air cooling solutions, with little to no gimmicks, there is no better option than the Thermaltake Frio Line. Easy to assemble if you follow the directions for either Intel or AMD CPU's. With the Thermaltake store you have easy to find replacement parts and accessories as well. With a very even price to performance ratio there really is almost no reason no to go with any of the Frio Fans.

Cons: The only Con I have encountered is the same with many other fans. On many boards the memory is situated so close to the processor that it does not allow for the taller of the rams to fit

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME....But HUGE

Pros: Keeps my CPU cool enough to stabilize it. (I have a bad CPU)
Looks absolutely wicked.
Nearly silent.

Cons: Could've had LEDs for the extra money. But that's a tiny aesthetic complaint.
Tiny screws are easy to lose.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I am happy that I purchased this. They seem heavy-duty and already knocked 30 degrees off my processor temps.

I wish the fans had built in LEDs, but now I am just nitpicking, so no worries.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: having a full tower case with this built in keeps my cpu at room temp, next best thing to water cooling.

Cons: really big but worth the space,

Other Thoughts: be sure you have a full tower case as it will not fit any other.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible design.

Pros: .

Cons: Be wary of this heatsink. Its design will probably not let you use the 2 closest RAM modules, as the hit sink begins entirely too low.

Very disappointing.

5 out of 5 eggsFrio OCK on Asus Maximus VI Hero Socket 1150

Pros: Great quality, great cooling, trouble-free operation since 2012.

Cons: No automatic fan control, somewhat loud when operated at max revs.

Other Thoughts: This is an update over my previous review below for the benefit of other Newegg users.

I successfully installed my old Frio OCK on an ASUS Maximus VI Hero Intel Socket 1150 motherboard, so yes it works fine on 1150 mobo's. (Upgraded fm a S775 system)

In business now: the clearance below the lowest point of the heatsink is 32.8 mm. I had ordered GSKILL Ripjaws but cancelled them after reading at the gskill website that their height is 40mm.

You need low profile memory modules with this cooler and s1150 mobo's. I went with GSkill ARES but there are other LP models from different manufacturers. It follows that tall heatspreader memory modules such as the Trident line are out of the question.

The cooler towers above my new mobo's RAM sockets 1, 2 and 3.

Ambient is 18 Celsius, and the max temp I have seen my cores go to is 39 celsius@3.9GHz. Lowest is around 24. Frio OCK is working at minimum revs (1200ish). I used Arctic Silver 5.

Hope this helps.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooler

Pros: ~Clean, Strong Air Flow
~Nice Design
~In line speed controller
~Easily removable fan shroud
~Installation was a breeze ( see what I did there?? ...)

Cons: These are cons I thought needed to be addressed, but no egg deduction were added.
~Connection lines could be a little longer.
( I have a full case though, not deducting an egg)
~No LED light in/on fan shroud. Maybe a single LED or so for color specific builds.
~ factory stamp for motherboard bracket was mis stamped, had to grind out some of the metal to seat properly on motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I've got the blackhawk ultra gaming tower. It came in my front door with 8 fans in it. The biggest being the one in the side panel. With this CPU cooler installed, I can barely place the door back on the case, and there is no room for error; the Fan on the door, and the CPU cooler shroud are literally touching. Makes for a nice look. This CPU cooler is a little large, so make certain you measure your personal build, and do it a few times. This is well worth the money I bought it for.
**other notes, when the cooler hits the upper RPM, it's a loud little airplane; but I've never had it go that high outside of manual tests. My build hasn't gotten above 60 degrees.**

5 out of 5 eggsfan

Pros: Very nice CPU cooler. Would deffintly buy again, on my next build.
I use the Silver Apevia wilth see thru side. Look nice also.

Cons: It is BIG. Need a full size case to get room for it. With the Apevia, had to remove the side fan to get room, and only has 3/8" clearance then.

Other Thoughts: I will use it on my next build for sure. Lot better cooling the the AMD CPU cooler

5 out of 5 eggsMed Sized yet Large Feel

Pros: A few pro's..
~ Feels Strong, don't have to worry about being delicate while handling.
~ Great looking shroud; Slips over the Fins tightly.
~ Fans absolutely push air. On the lowest settings with the pre-installed control, the fans push enough air to straighten a sheet of paper. Turn it to max flow, and the default exhaust fan on the rear of my case has issue's keeping up.

Cons: This isn't NewEgg's fault, not dropping an egg for it; but the Intel bracket used for this cooler was mis-stamped out of the factory. I had to file down the inner punch hole in order to have free movement like the rest of the bracket holes.
~ connector lines could have been longer.. but I've got a Full tower.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: SUPER-FAST-FAN-ACCESS
the shroud that contains both the fans fit in so easily with a very secure snap fit, it takes only a few seconds to install or uninstall the same, whereas other manufacturers retention mechanism requires wires, screws, etc.
Maintains my Core 2 Quad 6600 at just 5 deg above room temp at idle and never exceeds 55-58 even in tropic summer!

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: If you need quality OC cooling, then you need to sacrifice on size and noise, so stop complaining. (this is like saying I hate my ferrari as it gives only 10mpg while my ford gives 50mpg!)

Looks beautiful inside my HAF-X, just wish the snow edition released before I purchased to match the interior white lighting.
