1 out of 5 eggsworked great til hoses cracked

Pros: cooled very good

Cons: worked great for 4 months turned it on heard a gurgling noise unplugged my tower both hoses cracked leaking coolant onto my video card and power supply. video card is ruined luckily my case had a cover over power supply

Other Thoughts: took a gamble on this based on pervious air coolers from thermaltake now i'm out $40 for cooler and $260 for video card

1 out of 5 eggsNot Good!

Pros: The system did an excellent job at cooling my 6 core 3.6 processor. Temp stayed well below 40 degrees Celsius.

Cons: Major issue: Everything was fine the first two weeks. But I then heard dripping noises. I opened up the case and the radiator was leaking. (Luckily off to the right side of the PS) No damage too my system; luckily.

Also, the water block does not fit very well. Really has to be forced on

Other Thoughts: Guess that is what you get when you pay for the cheapest item available.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Buck,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace it through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions.

5 out of 5 eggsfx8350 at 39C -- for professional to be mounted

Pros: It is a delicate water cooler. You need to be careful when mounting this cooler, it is too fragile for average people. You cannot explore water cooling mounting with it.
Great design. Precise design. A bit tricky. Too fragile, to be point of calling it flimsy.

English instructions are quite precise, except for documenting the screws (two set of screws with springs are provided, one for AMD and the other for Intel).

AMD FX-8350 at 39C and at 57C under load, no overclocking.

Cons: Can be flimsy. Do not make a discovery on this thing. It may break.

Replace the fan with a cougar vertex ($10). Mount the fan first, then install the cooler, going in the position that will get less stress on the hoses.

The screws are too short to mount the fan+radiator from the external enclosure.
I had to use the two screws provided to install the fan (screws go diagonally), and two short-thick fan screws go into the mounted radiator+fan from the outside.

Other Thoughts: Great water cooling. Be patient when installing it, otherwise you will break it and you will tear your hair off. It is a bit flimsy. It is made in China, so what do you expect.

4 stars. But I will give it 7 stars comparing it to other prices. It is a winner.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap, poorly designed, broke after 1 month of use.

Pros: Easy to install, quiet, doesn't leak

Cons: Cheap, poorly designed.

Other Thoughts: This thing is poor designed and executed. The only thing that secures the water block to the processor is a thin, round piece of plastic. 2 metal clips screw into the mobo and the plastic rings hold the water block to the clips.

It broke and I had to RMA it to Thermaltake as it was beyond 30 days. Let's see how long it takes to get it replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Tricky to Install

Pros: Works very well and I have to admit I am very happy with it . I was a bit uneasy buying it and trying it out after all the reviews. It fit right onto my FM2 A10 5800k and has no issue keeping it at 32C while overclocked to 4.4ghz cpu and 1.064ghz gpu.

Cons: Be very careful installing due to the weight of the radiator putting too much bend in the hoses. A second pair of hands helps out a lot.

4 out of 5 eggsIt rocked

Pros: Not going to lie. It worked well for me simple install. Very cheap to buy. Dropped my cpu temps and the scores on 3d mark11 show it. I have played SWTOR for 16 hours straight. Me and my friends stream live. So I would say it worked well for me.

Cons: More specs on controller and fan would be nice. I like to mod my stuff.

Other Thoughts: works well for me temps are great need to see what happens in one year.

3 out of 5 eggsI took the gamble ...

Pros: Ive always wanted to water cool my pc and this also allowed me to remove some fans and lower the noise of my case. So far this is working fine for that.
*Ran for a day outside case with no leaks
*Ran a day inside the case with no leaks
*No leaks after the cpu blocked dangled for a while during installation of it and other stuff
*No leaks after tubes were brushed up during removing/installation of other fans and such
*Installation wasnt horrible but could have been better - sufficient
*IMHO the pump is quiet
*Blue led indicator light on cpu/pump block
*Cheap-ish

Cons: Its fan, at lowest speed setting, is the loudest fan I have in my collection. Seriously it is no where near "quiet" and its a waste. I replaced it with a 4 pin cooler master fan from my hyper212 but will prob replace it soon. Overclocking is not my thing, I just wanted to eliminate fans/noise.
*fan is not quiet
*plastic tubing (not sure how this compares to other companies)
*plastic plastic plastic, just about everything is made of cheap plastic
*I really felt the installation/method could have been made easier (better design)
*Installation manual/guide is usable but really needs another couples line or two plus some of the pieces were already put together but confusing.
*some bent fins on the exposed side of my radiator, nothing major but seriously!?!? I didnt manage to add any during installation
*CPU\Pump feels cheap like its going to fall apart in your hand
*CPU\Pump block feels the same way with the snap cover off, cheap plastic holding everything together, you can easily move the pump
*The hard plastic tubing makes it hard to install either part last and with so much pressure you feel like the tubs will bust on you due to the tension/bends. HINT = install the cpu block first like the instructions say
*I feel its only worth my $35 at most

Other Thoughts: Idles at around 31C for my AMD 1090T, not using its stock fan and I flipped my fan around so i draws in air from the rear of the case and heat vents through the top/front of my case. Im somewhat happy with it but really doubt its durability. I most likely will replace it in 6 months on a more expensive one and prob not another Thermaltake. I bought it because it was the cheapest and it definitely is in a lot of ways.
*I would NOT get this for a new build, simply isnt worth the risk, go air or more expensive/older/better reviewed closed loop
*I WOULD get this for an older machine, or testing, and/or experimenting, etc ... anything worth the risk of losing
*** I didnt list as many real cons as I expected and nit-picked it to death so maybe my expectations were too high. For the price I was hoping for "mid" grade like we would get for air coolers (mostly all metal, feels durable) but this feels/is the cheapest.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mr. K,

We are terribly sorry for such a horrible experience with our unit. If you would please contact cs3@thermaltakeusa.com we will definitely make this right you.

Thank you!

1 out of 5 eggsMinus Seven eggs, haha

Pros: You gotta be kidding...

Cons: Fan control switch wires were intermittent, wiggled it and both wires came off, terrible soldering at the switch.

When I took the fan off the radiator to repair it, I saw a bunch of fins were bent by someone's thumb during assembly.

The cheapo plastic tubing is just cr*p, if you already own one, replace it, and the fan is loud as heck at 2/3 throttle or above.

-2 eggs for workmanship, -2 eggs for quality control, -1 egg for design, and -2 eggs for ever letting this product out of commitee into production by Thermaltake management.

Grand total= -7

Other Thoughts: I'm just not going to buy any of their products again, ever.
