Untouchable cool

No matter how big your RAM physically is, the Thermaltake NiC series (The lineup consists of the F3, F4, C4, and C5) CPU cooler can stay with your RAM side by side on your motherboard. That is thanks to its proprietary technology. Now your CPU cooler not only delivers superior cooling performance with a low noise level, but also offers the maximum compatibility with RAM. The Thermaltake NiC series F3 offers up to 160W cooling power.

overview picture

  • newegg Offers maximum clearance for your RAMs The new Thermaltake NiC series CPU cooler offers the maximum clearance for your RAMs after installation. Your high-end overclocked RAM now can co-exist with your high-end CPU cooler.
  • newegg Conducts heat effectively, all the way up to the aluminum fins The included thermal grease makes your CPU cooler and CPU contacted seamlessly for fast heat conduction from the CPU to the cooler base with Direct Contact heat pipes. The three F6mm heat pipes then transfer the heat to the aluminum fins.
  • newegg Curved Aluminum Fins In order to reduce back air resistance and maximize airflow through the aluminum fins, the aluminum fins are designed in a curved shape. The 0.4mm-thick aluminum fins also increase the overall thermal dissipation area.
  • newegg Integrated 120mm PWM fan The integrated 120mm PWM fan’s speed can be adjusted between 800 to 1600rpm. The tool-less fan slip makes fan installation and removal a snap.
  • newegg Universal compatibility with CPUs This CPU cooler features an all-in-one back-plate design. All accessories are included to support all the latest Intel and AMD platforms (Intel LGA 2011/1366/1155/1156/1150/775 and AMD FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2).

This new CPU cooler series with non-interference cooling space for the ram and motherboard area, the advancement towards silence, performance and compatibility. Fully compatible with RAM of all kinds, ideally for power users to fill their RAM slots with high-end overclocked RAM.

This new NiC Series coolers solve the problem that high performance RAM and CPU coolers cannot co-exist in the past. NiC series coolers achieve the best RAM clearance allowing user to install high end overclock RAM with coolers with ease

Although the overall dimension of the cooler is smaller than before, but thanks to the design of the cooler, the performance is stronger than before. Heat is conducted from the CPU onto the cooler with Direct Contact Heat-pipes and then onto the aluminum fins with 3 F6mm U-shaped heat-pipes. This ensures the best possible heat dissipation performance conducting heat effectively

Aluminum fins are specially designed in a curved shape to reduce back air resistance and at the same time maximize airflow through them. The 0.4mm thick aluminum fins also increase the overall thermal dissipation area.

Single 120mm PWM fan with adjustable silent fan blades between 800-1600rpm. Convenient tool-less fan clip design allows user to install/dismantle the fans with ease.

All-in-one back-plate design, the universal socket offers support all latest Intel and AMD platform.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Cooler..and it is big but nicely built

Pros: Nice cooler, big and has enough technology to keep the CPU temp down. Comes with all necessary assembly items..

Cons: Need some assembly... for putting the cooler together took the 70% of the time of my total computer build i.e, putting CPU in motherboard, memory SSD other drives install , case connection to power supply

The instruction could be way better .. i am not sure if folks who only dealt with stock CPU cooler before and who have not previously dealt with this type of CPU fan may will have hardtime getting thisput together as well as mounting on the moterboard with correct orientation and have right airflow

4 out of 5 eggsThermaltake NiC F3 (CLP0605) 120mm CPU Cooler

Pros: Quiet, able to install second fan if needed.

Cons: The directions that come with it are all but useless.

Other Thoughts: Installed on an Asus M5A97. Had to remove the clips that came factory installed on the motherboard. No mention of this in the manual. Took a couple of minutes to figure this out..

3 out of 5 eggsSomewhat pleased.

Pros: Runs quiet, as I designed my whole system around fans I haven't had a more quiet system that only uses fans -- ever. It keeps the i7 6core I got rather cool even when overclocking it whilst compiling various programs at long intervals.

Cons: It's rather difficult to install if you've never done this type of thing before, and it is heavy -- roughly half a kilogram! The way the fan is mounted to the heatsink is a real pain.
As in the dimensions said on the specification this thing is huge -- it really is; it blocked off one of my PCI-E 3.0 16x ports.

Other Thoughts: I didn't use the thermal compound that came with the unit; I used arctic silver so it could be playing a factor helping to keep the CPU cool.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent fan and heat sync .
Overclocked I5 K655 at 3550 MHz .
At idle is about 25C and at full tilt hasn't got any warmer than 38C . Prior to installing this unit it would idle at 30C and get up to 48C with stock cooler.
very quiet had to look in case to make sure it was running .

Cons: Takes a little time to install directions don't really give a lot of detail . But it is pretty straightforward to install

Other Thoughts: Great value

5 out of 5 eggsbetter than more expensive coolers

Pros: keeps my i5 4670k @ 4.5ghz idle at 25-28c on each core. 1.23v. using aida64 stress test, temps go to 70c max. better than coolermasters. almost same as xigmateks but the heatsink is thinner than the xigmateks and cooler master 212 better than the silenx 120mm cooler

Cons: not so easy to install. instructions and description of parts not accurate. fan is smaller than the heatsink. unorthodox clips that need to go into holes in the heatsink. a bit flimsy clip.

5 out of 5 eggsNice CPU cooler!

Pros: Not big which is a plus, very easy to install, keep my CPU at 27C idle and 38C under load. I have the evo from cooler master on my other rig and this one is a better cooler, both rig have the same CPU(AMD 6350) same motherboard and graphic card.

Cons: NONE!

3 out of 5 eggsDifficult

Pros: High air flow volume
Almost NO sound
keeps my I7-3820 relatively cool
does not block a dimm on Gigabyte G1.assassin 2

Cons: Exceptionally difficult to install
Does not mount tightly to cpu
Fan will fall off when bumped

Other Thoughts: This thing is HUGE! I had to remove my 200 mm dooor fan to accommodate the heatsink

5 out of 5 eggsHuge!

Pros: Fits and does not affect any components

Cons: It took a little long to install than expected.

Other Thoughts: It was not clear at first but the back plate for the CPU mount needs to be removed. No biggy but I was thrown off a little. Two CPU temps are displayed and right now they are sitting at 15 and 35, I don't think one has gone above 40 since I turned this on.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Fan and Heatsink

Pros: Fast shipping as usual.
Fits the LGA 1150 platform just fine.
This fan runs REAL silent, so quiet in fact, that I had to open the case back up to check and see if it was really was!
The heat sink is designed to stand above the level of your RAM. I have tall heat spreaders on the G Skill RAM I use, and there was no issue with hitting the modules at all.

Cons: A real pain to build and install.
Instructions are sparse and kind of vague.
But if you study them and make a few dry runs, this can be installed...but it's still a bit of a hassle.

Other Thoughts: This thing IS BIG, be prepared, it clears the side panel on my Micro ATX case, but only by a fraction of an inch. It is a hassle to install this fan, there is no doubt about that, however, that being said, it is worth it because it blows a good amount of air and runs real quiet!
