Untouchable cool

No matter how big your RAM physically is, the Thermaltake NiC series (The lineup consists of the F3, F4, C4, and C5) CPU cooler can stay with your RAM side by side on your motherboard. That is thanks to its proprietary technology. Now your CPU cooler not only delivers superior cooling performance with a low noise level, but also offers the maximum compatibility with RAM. The Thermaltake NiC series C5 offers up to 230W cooling power.

overview picture

  • newegg Offers maximum clearance for your RAMs The new Thermaltake NiC series CPU cooler offers the maximum clearance for your RAMs after installation. Your high-end overclocked RAM now can co-exist with your high-end CPU cooler.
  • newegg Conducts heat effectively, all the way up to the aluminum fins The included thermal grease makes your CPU cooler and CPU contacted seamlessly for fast heat conduction from the CPU to the thick nickel-coated copper base. Heat is then transferred to the five F6mm "U"-shaped heat pipes, while the heat pipes transfer the heat to the aluminum fins.
  • newegg Curved Aluminum Fins In order to reduce back air resistance and maximize airflow through the aluminum fins, the aluminum fins are designed in a curved shape. The 0.4mm-thick aluminum fins also increase the overall thermal dissipation area.
  • newegg Integrated Dual 120mm VR fans The integrated dual 120mm VR fans take cooling performance a step further. All of them are contacted to an adjustable fan-speed knob, which allows you to manually adjust the fan speed from 1000 to 2000rpm. The tool-less fan mounting bracket makes installation easier.
  • newegg Universal compatibility with CPUs This CPU cooler features an all-in-one back-plate design. All accessories are included to support all the latest Intel and AMD platforms (Intel LGA 2011/1366/1155/1156/1150/775 and AMD FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2).

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Matches the color scheme that my rig is going for.

Cons: Super noisy and doesn't really cool my CPU very well. CPU temp jumps to 60's when I'm playing Farcry4 and 50's on Vindictus. Both on the highest graphics setting. And this is when the fan is on full. My brother's cpu fan cools his rig relatively well on highest graphics setting on relatively low power setting, so I don't know what the hell's wrong with this product. Super disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I have an AMD FX-8320, GTX 970, and Fatal1ty 990FX MB.

Pros: like the looks and it doesn't block ram on my asrock killer 990fx board.

Cons: worries me that even after tightning the plate that holds the cooler to the cpu all the way down it still can be moved to the left and right with little effort, dont know if this is normal.

2 out of 5 eggsALMOST Tt Almost

Pros: They built a nice CPU cooler like how the fans mount onto the coils, I really liked how tight it was and looks was amazing. the 2 X 120mm c100cfm fans was good.

Cons: HERE we go. The built in fan control is as undesireable as the old Typhoon series and Volcano. It was mounted so close to the base .. MMm yea we are in 2016 guys . COMEON!!!! Tt. Also the bracket that mounts the bridge to the anchor arms to the motherboard. The screws basically STRIPED when I was trying to even remotely Tighten it down at all. maybe some lock nuts for the screws or something else Tt?
RMA on the way Newegg. So sorry its not your fault.

Other Thoughts: I have been thinking about this.. If you Completely built the CPU cooler setup then installed it on the CPU/Mother board instead of trying to build as you go this might work better than the 1 I had. AKA take the whole board out then install but install the anchors etc b4 you mount it. It might just work. BEWARE THE CROSSMEMBER SCREWS THOUGH... They are weak. Anyhow GL to you if you get 1 other Tt products I have gotten in the past are still working and 100% . Just a bad apple I guess

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOMETACULAR

Pros: I've been building my own rigs since I was 12. I'm 37 now. Im my present build, I had a Cooler Master Seidon Liquid cooler on an FX-8320 @ 3.5ghz. When it worked( which wasn't often) it would keep my Idle CPU around 25 celsius. At normal game taxing load it was closer to 65. Now this beast of a heatsink/fan combo keeps my Idle CPU around 5-14 celsius and under normal game taxing load rarely passes 40 celsius(absolute full spec and 4k res). Mind you this is with the fan at the slowest setting. I honestly only bought this as a temp until my RMA is completed for the failed Cooler Master. But Looks like Im going to be selling it when it shows up on my porch. This Thermaltake clobbers the hell out of that Cooler Junk Master.

Super easy to install, simple instructions. Cheap price, solid design. Liquid cooling systems will only surpass this heatsinks performance if you buy and install your own custom liquid cooling system and spend closer to $200.

Cons: Its HUGE. On some mobos, may cause issues with proximity to RAM. Make sure you have room. And the fans are quite loud when set to max. Good thing it has its own knob for speed and never needs to be set even to half let alone max.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your fans are facing the correct way during last steps of installation. Also, If you don't plan on buying a large reservoir and pro custom cooling system, don't buy any. Get this beast of a heatsink. Works better than anything else in the 50-130 price range.

4 out of 5 eggsFits my ASUS P6T

Pros: Two 120 mm Fans with honking big a heat heat sink to keep my I7950 that is slightly overclock cool. The Fans are quiet and it was not that difficult to install.

Cons: The fan speed control wire could be a bit longer.

Other Thoughts: none

2 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler. Bad Mounting Design

Pros: Keeps cpu cool
2 fans mounted on each side.

Cons: Horrible mounting design.

Other Thoughts: I have the AMD FX 8350 and Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard. One of the mounting brackets I had to force in because it was up against the mobo heat sink. I didnt think I could get it at first but it did. The screws to mount the cooler were hard to tighten down. If the mounting design was better I would recommend this to anyone, but for now I would recommend you buy something else.

4 out of 5 eggsCareful with the bolts

Pros: (Mounted on 1150) It's a serious cooler and mounts securely if all goes well.

Cons: The threads on the hold-down bolts are very fine (like M3) and if any of them gets cross-threaded it's ruined. Substituting a #6 machine screw almost worked but it would not quite fit through the slot.

1 out of 5 eggsfollow up second review

Pros: None

Cons: Will not fit SABERTOOTH X79 motherboard. No way to get bottom plate of cooler to contact CPU. Asked for RMA from Newegg and referred to Thermaltake who say RMA up to Newegg! "Pass the buck" Called 800 support number for Thermaltake in their small (5) tech dept. and got "Alex", refused last name and he said his model worked perfectly, and if mine did not it was entirely my fault for not following the incomprehensible instructions. He was adversarial, impatient, abrupt, and barely spoke or understood English. Supposed to be a hole in plate to hold cooler in place but no hole in my plate. Refused to admit their cooler wrong!

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake kept sending me back to Newegg for RMA, would not listen to problems with their cooler. Everything was MY fault for not being able to read and understand Chinglish instructions and questions. I will never buy anything from Thermaltake again! NOTHING! Very frustrating and annoying experience
