Want a high-performance, low-maintenance water cooling solution? The Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme Liquid CPU Cooler is the one for you! The high-quality pump drives the water to circulate to take the heat away. The full copper base plate ensures the maximum heat transfer from your CPU, while the large surface radiator with two fans ensures the maximum heat dissipation from your liquid CPU cooler. The low-maintenance feature allows you to install the cooler and forget about it.

  • newegg Full copper base plate The base plate is made from copper to efficiently conduct heat from your CPU to the cooler. It also helps improve the case’s airflow too.
  • newegg Large radiator The radiator is 240mm long, providing a large heat dissipating area and allowing the installation of up to two 120mm fans for additional heat dissipation.
  • newegg Double curve fans and fan control software Two 120mm fans are included for right-out-of-the-box use. The fan blades have a curved design to maximize airflow. The PWM control function makes them spin (1200-2000rpm) according to the amount of heat your CPU generated. Your fans couldn’t be smarter! You can also be the commander, thanks to the included fan control software. Monitor and customize a wide range of parameters, including liquid temperature, CPU temperature, fan speed, and pump speed.
  • newegg Highly reliable pump The pump is the driving force. A good quality, highly reliable pump maximizes the water circulation and keeps the copper plate continuously cool.
  • newegg Install it, and forget it! The installation of this liquid cooling solution is a snap! The maintenance-free feature saves you work and time throughout the water cooler's lifespan. Just install it and enjoy the impressive cooling performance.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT 1150

Pros: Great for my AMD A-10 works amazing.

Cons: Do not for the love of everything you hold dear buy this for a 1150, just don't

Other Thoughts: Giving it 3 stars for it does work for AMD builds and does a really good job. And the software they give you meh and not downloadable off their site as far as I could tell. No software either for Linux based OS.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very great cooling.
Price isn't outrageous.
Larger surface area of the radiator allows for better heat dissipation.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Running with with the AMD FX-8320 overclocked to 4.55 ghz. Thermal margin for idle is 50-45 C and under extreme load (IBT testing) doesn't go under 15 C even with a vent blowing hot air near intake fans. After load is gone the thing blows away the heat like a champ. As I have put my hand right above the exhaust and felt it amazingly quickly go from feeling warm to cold (span of about 30 seconds).

I did replace the stock fans with Rosewill RFA 120-BL fans (same RPM range with lower CFM but with blue LED's because hey I am OCD about this). So that being said I am sure the heat dissipation and temp would be better had I left the stock fans in (higher CFM meaning better air flow).

Case is the Thermaltake Level 10 GT which is great with space in allowing this to be placed as exhaust at the top with that huge 200 mm side panel intake fan keeping cool air flowing into the system.

4 out of 5 eggsWater 3.0 Extreme

Pros: Setup is ready to be installed and turned on out of the box.
Has fairly quiet fans, though NOT SILENT.
240mm radiator.

Cons: Not as cool as I would've expected, though cooler than most air setups can achieve.
Fans are always audible, even @ 10-20%. Not loud enough to really stand out but NOT SILENT.

Other Thoughts: Keeping an FX-8350 @ 4.83GHz idling between 25-35°C and with graphic & cpu intensive games running it hits around 50-55°C.
Not much different temps than the Cooler Master 212 it replaced but we have gone 400MHz higher clock speed.
Expected lower temps but at this speed I won't complain. Could turn it down to around 4GHz and be super-cooled. Or go to 5GHz+ and add a few more degrees...

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome, be cautious with some cases.

Pros: I just upgraded form a Zalmon ZNPS9500a, which cooled the PC much better than the stock, but was fairly loud. After I switched to this water cooler, I idle at about 20-25C, and I can barely hear my computer, and I doubt what I could hear was the water cooler fans.

Cons: Keep in mind that since this has a piece that goes on the back of the motherboard, depending on the case, you will either have to take your motherboard off the plate, or manhandle your case to get it it fit. This isn't Thermaltake's fault though, so no eggs taken off.

Other Thoughts: I already love it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat performance

Pros: This is the best cooler I've used.I can hardly hear this thing running.

Cons: Installation, it took a couple if minutes to figure out how to install it.

Other Thoughts: I've tried 3 other closed loop coolers on my pc, and I could not run prime 95 for more than a few seconds before it would over heat and shut down. With this one it never goes over 37

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far, Amazing!

Pros: This thing does the job well. I recently put my computer through a massive upgrade. I went from an AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition being cooled by a monstrous copper Thermaltake V1 air cooler, to an Intel i7-4770k being cooled by this Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme.

What a huge difference! Idle temperatures are averaging around 27C, and under gaming loads I haven't seen my i7 creep up past 48C yet, and this is after a few hours of Battlefield 4 and other intensive games. And the thing is quiet too. I don't think I've revved the fan speeds up past 50%, and I certainly don't hear them over my GPU fans.

Cons: I pretty much expected this going into this purchase (which is why i didn't knock off an egg for this particular con) but the instructions that come with the product are horrible. All it is are a series of pictures that don't really make a whole lot of sense. I ended up going online to see youtube videos that explained and showed the process much more clearly. My only other complaints are kind of nitpicks. The markings for the different socket types on the tiny pieces like the pressure plate for the back of the motherboard and the clips that keep the retention ring lined up with the long screws are incredibly tiny and hard to read. Made for a bit of trial and error, and eventually more youtube videos. Again, i would knock an egg off for this if it weren't for the extremely good cooling performance.

Other Thoughts: I'm not in the habit of doing any overclocking at all with any of the CPUs I've owned over the past fifteen years. But this cooler makes me think I can safely start pulling it off with more than enough wiggle room. After a trial and error installation, I couldn't be happier with the end results.
