Caveat Emptor
- Pros: This is probably the cheapest single target water-cooling solution available.
- Cons: Unless you are very lucky or have a very large case this is NOT an easy install. The enamel paint is very thin and scratches to the brass very easily. The O-ring in the pump does not inspire confidence. Even though I have no real complaints it gets 3 eggs because it's cheap stuff for cheap.
- Other Thoughts: Even though this is a real pain it IS the cheapest system around. Also, it can be modified with a little imagination. A previous poster said it wouldn't fit in an Antec 300 due to clearance issues with the top fan. I got it to work with 2 Mobo standoffs at each corner ... like I said, "Use a little imagination." Although the O-ring is laughable, I just threw some silicon down in the O-ring channel and dropped the ring in. That should solve any potential leak hazards. The bottom line here is this ... If you're a PC noob stay away from this nightmare in a box, but, if you're like me with over 2 decades of experience, then this is definitely tweakable.
Works Great for me
- Pros: Mine leaked as soon as I installed it but I must have had a loose connection to the pump. They sent me a new one and its been working perfect for over a year.
- Cons: I think I had a bad power supply connection to the pump when I first got it. When I tested the unit I used a different connection than the one I ended up with after mounting it. The pump didn't run, the processor overheated and melted the plastic pump. The company was nice enough to send me a new pump. You guys are lying about this fluid ruining any boards. The fluid is completely NON CONDUCTIVE, don't embarass yourselves and get caught in a lie.
IT LEAKS LIKE CRAZY!
- Pros: it may be inexpensive and easy for first time water cooling builds
- Cons: The apogee pump drive has a major leak problem once the system is on. It shorted my entire system after extensive testing of the setup and beliving it to be a stable setup i installed it in to my system. it lasted 2 days ONLY 2 DAYS! Before it started to leak these are a list of parts that it shorted out.
