5 out of 5 eggsWell worth it!

Pros: I got actually got the Ultima Plus Kit and I bought from a store by my house. Besides all that, this liquid cooling is exactly what i was looking for. The Ultima Plus came with a cpu, vga, and NB waterblock. I actually upgraded my CPU waterblock from GTZ to the XT waterblock. The XT waterblock was a great improvement.

Cons: Very time consuming. You must have patience to put this thing together or else you will have a leak somewhere and ruin your computer just like the others.

Other Thoughts: I didnt use the black plastic tube clamps that came with the kit. I actually went to a near by hardware store and bought metal tube clamps and sealing tape to gurantee this thing will never leak. I recommend you do the same. I will be uploading a video soon to show you how i did it.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT SYSTEM!

Pros: Love it!
I7920 OC to 3.2 Ghz
4850 TOP (factory OC) Asus video card
Gigabyte x58 mobo
Coolermaster case with 6 (case) fans total

I got the water cooling kit with the H2O-220 Ultima PLUS with the CPU and VGA and Nbridge waterblocks. First, my CPU was idling at 50 C and VGA at 60C. Under Prime95 CPU got up to 85+C and using Furmark - VGA to 100C! Once installed, idles are CPU 43C and VGA at 36C. NOW -Under loads nothing goes beyond 65C!

I've upped my OC to 3.5 Ghz and am going to go higher.

camping happy

Cons: Blew a mobo and a 950W PS!

Tubing leaked from the video waterblock into the PS. BOOM!

Not a kit error but installer over confidence error. The piping is VERY hard push onto the barb fittings. (So hard that they shouldn't leak at all, right?) You MUST use the suggested soapy-fittings and boiling the piping instructions (pipe heating) to more easily push the tubes onto the barbs. Then, on ALL fittings add the tubing clamps tightly to keep them from leaking.

The smallest leakage or water WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS!

BELIEVE IT!

Other Thoughts: Once the whole kit is installed you have a closed loop, SEALED system. While this system is operating it is getting warm and the fluid and air want to expand. Also, the tubing is getting warm and flexible. The water may try to exit the place of least resistance so SECURE connections are a MUST!
The barb fittings with gaskets screw into the waterblocks and should be tightened as tight as possible without stripping. Also, do NOT twist tubing once attached as you may inadvertantly unscrew the barb fitting from the waterblock. Not enough to make it come off, but enough to have it leak.

Keep several towels handy and don't plug in or turn on anything till you're certain EVERYTHING is bone dry.

Final thought, good waterblock contact to your chip die(s) (CPU/VGA) will make a big difference in cooling efficiency.

GREAT KIT!

4 out of 5 eggsCool but inconsistent

Pros: All-in-one kit
sturdy, high quality parts (everything over engineered)
At OC load keeps qx6800 < 60C (was unstable 70C+ with huge air cooler)
VERY quiet
Radiator mounted easily to a super tower through existing penetrations. It lined up perfectly with existing case fan.

Cons: QX6800 runs at 52C idle (higher than with air cooled)
Surprisingly hard to mount the reservoir in a $600 super tower case (wants to be suspended from the top)
Fill hole/funnel too small so I spilled a lot of coolant in my case
Radiator ~1/2 the size of those on a motorcycle.
The price of true liquid cooling is steep

Other Thoughts: This was my second attempt at liquid cooling. Even the high rated $60 solutions are a joke...don't waste your time/money...get the real thing. Used Arctic Silver 5. I also had trouble with a slow leak from one of the connections and had to tighten the @#$! out of it.

5 out of 5 eggsBolting 101

Pros: In response to the gentleman with the stripped bolt.
He may have done everything right and got the result he got anyway. This is just an FYI when attaching anything with multiple bolts always thread all the bolts loosely in place first then gradually tighten all bolts evenly in several passes this will ensure an even contact area. Never over tighten. Not doing so will result in warpage and the last bolt that refuses to thread.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs2 X GTX 295s

Pros: Water Cooling a Q9550and 2 X EVGA GTX 295s. This thing keeps my CPU and Video Cards under 30C Idle and 45C under full load via intel Burn in (Makes your CPU Hotter than it would ever realistically get) and other benchmarking apps. I wasnt sure that the radiator would be able to keep 3 huge sources of heat this cool but it definately can. I recently helped my brother build a 2 X 4890 Video card rig and his cards over heated on air cooling right out of the box (Factory overclocked) until we got his case cooling upgraded. I will never go back to water cooling again.

Cons: Be very careful when hooking this up, the coolant itself is non conductive and shouldnt destroy your rig if it should leak, what they dont tell you is that the dirt in your case + coolant is very conductive and will fry your hardware. I wish someone had told me, I lost 2 X Asus 4870X2 Tops this way.

Other Thoughts: Water cooling is dead silent, I can barely tell its even there. Much quieter than the 4 X 120MM fans I have running, and they are low RPM and low noise. I highly recommend liquid cooling your CPU and Graphics cards these days. I used to have problems on very hot days when gaming for long periods of time. Stock video cards are overclocked and have poor cooling and almost always result in issues right out of the box. I have seen this over and over with todays video cards and their clunky cheap heatsinks. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself water cooled video cards with factory warranties or buy EVGA or other brands that specifically state on their site they allow the stock heatink to be replaced with water cooling as long as they are put back together for RMA Process.

1 out of 5 eggsI'd recommend it.

Pros: The 1 star rating is for newegg. I give the product 5 stars.

This is a very good kit and makes a great starting point for building a water cooling system. The included directions were fairly complete and should get a beginner through the installation with no problems.

The included tubing was enough to handle installation in a double-sided full tower case. All of the parts (except the water block) were of excellent quality.

Cons: The water block / back plate needs to be redesigned. The threads are not strong enough. Three of the corners tightened down fine, but the last one pops a thread as it bottoms out. I haven't had any heat transfer problems with it yet, but I'll be watching it carefully for a while.

Had to buy 2 hose clamps because none of the included clamps would fit on the pump connections.

If you remove the RadBox you will need to put an additional washer on the screws when you put them back in. They are a bit to long and will hit the radiator if you don't.

Could use some quieter fans. I hooked them up to a fan controller and run them at 50% to keep the noise down. They aren't loud, just louder than what I wanted.

No temperature sensor or flow meter :(

This is what you get when you pay for next day delivery.
If you need something next day, don't bother ordering from Newegg.
A friend who owed me, ordered my video card for me last friday (with next day delivery). It's now 1 week later and no video card. Newegg has been difficult at best to work with in tracking down the card.
This is 3 of my last 4 orders that have not arrived in a timely manner.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Deal

Pros: This sytem in a single loop is cooling a core i7 OC to 4.0, a NB, the VR's, and a GTX295 (danger den block) , Of course i did a few mods like went with 1/2ID tubing and a XSPC dual bay resevoir. Other than that the system is doing a great job keeping the CPU at 32C idle and 50C maxed after 2 hours of prime95. The video stays at 42C idle and maxes at 51C after a few runs of 3Dmark Vantage. This cooling system is what cools skynet.

Cons: The system comes with the swiftec green fluid addative, so i ended up buying feser one clear fluid, and mixing it with feser one UV blue

Other Thoughts: My system is so quiet and cool now. I have a vid but my wife's camera only does apple quick time so i can't upload it here. Newegg please fix that

4 out of 5 eggs2cd kit

Pros: I7 920
keeps cpu cool, about 50F above room temp with prime95. The radiator seems to be more than big enough - I am using a fan controller, and can run the fans very slow without effecting cpu temp. The pump is dead quiet.

Cons: The 1366 backing plate is VERY fragile. I ended up using nuts on two of the holes. And, as with all vinyl tubing, once it's on, it's on. Getting the reservor and pump on the same plane is almost impossible.
I never figured out how to install the smartcoils, or why I would want to.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps one of those combo units that goes in a 5 inch drive bay would be nice.
Don't bother replacing captive screws after you remove them - they work fine noncaptive. Note that the block will fall apart when you are changing mounts. harmless, but off putting.
The manual is very uneven in quality, detailed in some areas, skimpy in others.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks pretty. Can't test it since.... (read cons)

Cons: .... the bracket for the GTZ water block that shipped with the unit for Core i7 didn't work. 2 of the pins on it completely push through the bracket. It's as if the screws are too small for the holes, or the holes were tapped incorrectly.

Either way, I'm left with a pretty cool kit that is completely useless since I can't fasten it to my CPU!!!

Other Thoughts: I e-mailed Swiftech and they responded back the same day apologizing and saying they will ship out a new bracket & 4 new pins. However, it is 7 business days later and I still haven't received it... Will update this review when I receive a bracket that actually works. For 250$ I would have thought they would have had these sort of minor issues in manufacturing (that cause major issues) worked out.
