pasive cooling
- Pros: i have sen this cooler work wonderfully for OCing a qX600 past 3.5 with reasonable temperatures
- Cons: very heavy. when mounted sideways i is good to proved support with a piece of string or something
- Other Thoughts: in response to the review stating that the mobo would not post, it is becuase the mobo thinks there is no fan and will not post becuase of this. before removing the hs (or after if oyu plug it in) make sure to disable the failsafe on the mobo.
Very nice
- Pros: Replaced the stock heatsink on Gigabyte DS3L. It does nice job of offloading the heat from the chipset. Looks nice, 80mm fan can be added if needed.
- Cons: I wound't have complained if it was even larger than it is, for even better cooling.
It is not that easy to install, so be patient.
- Other Thoughts: I think that P35 northbridge is generating more heat than my e2160 cpu @3.0ghz. I do not know why this is, but it seems to be true for all P35 mobos. Heatsink gets hot under load, which is good as the heat is not staying on chipset. I will probably add 80mm fan...
- Pros: This is a very efficient heatpipe cooler. It keeps my TForce 6100-939 chipset cool even under an overclock of 280 on the fsb. It is completely silent, as it has no fan. It has an attractive nickel plating. The workmanship and finish are very good.
- Cons: It is quite tall and may not fit in all PCs. The height also can make it a bit unstable when used in a tower case - so secure it well and it will work well for you.
- Other Thoughts: This cooler literally enabled my overclock, the stock heatsink was way too small and ran very hot even at stock speeds.
