4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler, loud fan

Pros: This cooler does a much better job cooling my X1900 than the stock cooler did. Idle temps are down in the low 40's and load temps are mid 60's, compared to mid 50's and low 80

Cons: The fan provided with this cooler is incredibly loud. It makes a vacuum cleaner sound becaues it runs full speed at all times. It's alomst as irritating as as my cards stock cooler.

Other Thoughts: It would have been great if Thermalright included an adapter to plug the fan into the X1900 series' fan header. Maybe then the fan could spin down and not be so annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and ok

Pros: Very cheap. Cools my XFX 7800GT 10C lower than stock.

Cons: I had to take out the cooling duct from my Antec 2 case, the cooling pipes were too tall and would not fit under the duct.
The fan was too loud for my tastes and I replaced it with a 2-ball bearing fan that runs smoother.

Other Thoughts: Instructions are ok. Visiting the product site and seeing the online installation page makes it easier.
I had a lot of memory chip heat sinks left over, I wonder if I should use them for other chips in the case :)
The 7800GT was running 56C with no load and 65C under load. Now it idles at 45C and it didn't break 60C under load, yet.
I reversed the fan to suck air from the heatsink as I think it works better with the other fans I have in the case.
Price over what you get is great.

4 out of 5 eggsOld 9800xt

Pros: seems to be doing a good job. I will know more after some hard gaming

Cons: installation was a bit tricky on my old card

Other Thoughts: cant beat this cooler for the cost. I like others opted for a lighted fan , since it sits on top and is easy to see in a windowed case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: I put this on my XFX7600gt after the stock cooler on it died. This keeps my card very cool and quiet.

Cons: Not copper.

Other Thoughts: I agree with that other guy. the x800gto has gobs of paste on the stock cooler, it's so hard to wipe it all off.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: Everything. The installation was seamless. The thing cools my Powercolor X800GTO very well. Overkill in my opinion. And its only 10 dollars! WHAT A DEAL!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Powercolor had put way too much thermal paste on their stock fan and the gpu. I had a bit of difficulty removing it, and I got some of it stuck between the tiny metal things that are around the video card processor. No problems now. I seriously reccomend this.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, and does the job well

Pros: Cools my MSI 7800GTX very well. I was averaging about 65 with a normal load and with the new V1 I'm running 45 C with a heavy load. No exaggeration! This really works. Can't beat this for just over 1O dollars.

Cons: Quite difficult to install, but if you have some time (an hour or so) its well worth it. Make sure all mounting brackets are very tight. Note that some of the screws are short, so installing can be extremely difficult. Evenly tighten all screws seems to help.
Unfortunately with my MSI 7800GTX the memory chips are not all on the bottom. Each pair has one on each side, so one memory heatsink I was unable to install due to the top heatsink overlap, but with the fan right above it, it stays cool.
The memory heatsinks don't have the best adhesive, but once running the heat does seem to help activate the adhesive. Also the heat pipes are in the way of the SLI connector. Due to the extention of the heat pipes off the side of the card, I am unable to put my card in the top PCI-Express slot because the side case fan hits the heat pipes. Other than those solvable problems its great!

Other Thoughts: I also moved the fan that was on the top to the bottom because of its low profile and added another 80mm fan on top. The fan is pretty quite despite what so many other reviews say.
Overall it's worth the time of installing. And is cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best

Pros: Efficient cooling, low noise

Cons: Nontrivial installation

Other Thoughts: I currently use Zalman VF700, AC Accellero X2, and AC NV5R3 with three different cards other than this Thermalright V1 Ultra. I can say that V1 Ultra is a *very* good cooler if not the best I have. A simple Google search can find many tests showing the efficiency of this cooler so I will not comment further on this. Regarding the most criticized point, difficulty of installation, I think it is certainly not the easiest installation but not brutal either. Thank you Newegg for offering such a nice cooler at such a bargain price.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent value - tricky install

Pros: The heatsink and fan mount on top so that the heat can rise away from the card. It uses a standard 80mm fan so you can choose something silent or high performance. You can also add a second 80mm fan for additional cooling. Comes with lots of extra vram heatspreaders for big cards or other projects. The big heat pipes look pretty cool!

Cons: Mounting was a bit tricky. Initially the cooler wasn't making good contact with the GPU so it wasn't working any better with the stock GPU. Took some creativity to mount it up tight. This wouldn't be very effective in a BTX style case with the fan underneath the card and all. The stock fan is slim but doesn't move much air.

Other Thoughts: Running this cooler on a 7600 GT. I swapped out the stock fan for a ball bearing 80mm and it's totally silent. Once i got it mounted better, idle/load temps went from 56/75 at the factory 580mhz to 45/68 at 620mhz. Picked up 600 3dmarks in 05.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great with my PNY 6200. Previous temps were between 41-51C. Temps with V1 is a steady 37C.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Fan is a bit loud.

2 out of 5 eggsNot cool enough for X850 XT

Pros: Quieter than standard.
Works well if you don't play games. Who needs x850xt for 2D only?

Cons: Cannot keep up with ATI x850XT in games. My computer just froze after about 10 minutes of Counter Strike: Source
Very inconvenient to install

Other Thoughts: All I wanted is to make my computer some quieter than a helicopter. Standard ATI cooler gets way too noisy. Too bad Actic Cooler 5 ATI Rev 2 is long time discontinued. The owners of x850xt's have no choice but to buy a new videocard if they want something silent.
