5 out of 5 eggsvery solid and reliable

Pros: I have two of these now. they are cooling 2 AMD Opteron Shanghai 2378 Quad Core processors 2.4 Ghz.

Between these two fans and the Thermaltake armor series case, processors stay nice temperature. the case also really helps. I have on front a 120mm fan sucking air in over the hard drives up front, and in back 120mm fan blowing air out. Also on top of that, next to 1000Watt PSU with a 180 MM fan... there is another 80mm fan sucking air out over the Hard drives up in the back.. Also the top of the case is designed with lots of open holes for heat to escape and another 80mm fan up there blowing air out or in , your choice. I removed it completely,,, to fit the large PSU by Thermaltake.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: All these elements working together, keeps fans working to cool processors adequately. they are slightly loud but not nearly as loud as the 120mm fan I bought for the back of the case! I can hear it 3 rooms away.

This fan will not disappoint hopefully. It shouldn't. they do their job, fit my socket F mobo. I had to remove bracket holders from Mobo to mount directly on the processors. have artic silver, but don't need to use it, unless I decide one day to throw some on there and see what temp drop I get.

5 out of 5 eggsNice small footprint cooler

Pros: Even cooling, Small footprint. Ran 35c with stock media, 31c with Artic Silver.

Cons: Fan blades are exposed. But so are alot of cpu coolers. This can make working around a running system tricky.

Other Thoughts: Dual Opteron 2.5ghz, 32GB, SuperMicro MBD-H8DME-2-O, MS 2008 Hyper, 4 1TB Seagate HD's.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Noisy

Pros: It fits. It cools the CPU's. Reasonably priced.

Cons: Unbelievably noisy. It is constantly accelerating or decelerating and sounds like a plane taking off. I can hear it from another floor. I am not sure how a product like this can be made or sold.

Other Thoughts: It has been very difficult finding an good cpu cooler for socket f. I gave up looking for an alternative to this noisy cooler after I spoke to AMD and Tyan. I ended up feeling like I made a mistake buying a socket f server system as they were less than enthused to answer my questions.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: copper base copper heat pipes. Very quiet
Was easy to install
was much quieter then my Retail AMD cooling fan

Cons: the base is not really smooth as it could be. Factory heat pad is ok but I remove it using chlorine free brake cleaner. I would have liked to see a better polished surface but was adequate.

Other Thoughts: used chlorine free brake cleaner to clean the base plate of its thermal pad and cpu and used a high quality paste on both parts lowered my temp about 3 degrees as compared to the factory thermal pad.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with a mobile Athlon

Pros: I bought the F558 cooler because the custom mounting bracket allows a tighter fit to my mobile Athlon 64 4000+, which doesn't have a heat spreader fitted to it.

Cons: The plate that is used to secure the cooler doesn't jump the pins on the back of the motherboard under the CPU. I know, this fan is meant for a workstation. I just have to get some sort of spacer, probably a couple pieces of rubber gasket.

Other Thoughts: My MSI K8MM-V starts the fan at its top speed of 5K rpm, and it is definitely loud. It takes about a minute for it to step down to a quieter 2800 RPM. It looks like the fan from the stock heatsink will fit the Dynatron, so I may end up swapping it out since it is quieter. The 70 watt CPU is at 95F under load, 87F idle

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Trick

Pros: Keeps all workstation processors cool without liquid cooling. I like this one. Comes with Thermal interface on the heatsink.

Cons: loud at full speed.

Other Thoughts: Nice price, not bad, I did buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, Solid, Loud, Mounting Issue

Pros: It is good for over clock. Keeps the CPU(s) cool. It is very solid, easy to replace the fan.

Cons: If you have board with standard CPU brackets on board and it is not removable then you are screeweed. This cooler is mountable only on sockets without brackets around then.

Other Thoughts: If you like flight simulators, this is the right fan to purchase. It is as noisy as standard Boeing jet engines.
