Dynatron's P199 cooler is primarily intended for use in Intel-based servers but it is also able to provide a low profile cooling solution for other Intel-based CPUs. The variable speed 80mm fan moves 15CFM of air at its full 5000RPM with a 49.8dBA noise level. It can also be set to run at lower speeds with a reduced sound signature.

The attached heat sink is only 2mm wider than the fan and its all-copper construction efficiently draws heat away from the CPU for diffusion on the copper cooling vanes. The P199 is compliant with the EU's RoHS standards for reduced hazardous material in construction making it more earth-friendly.

In addition to supporting a wide variety of processors, it supports 130W chips. The entire unit is only 2mm wider than the 80mm fan and has an overall height of 28.5mm – making it able to fit into tight locations in order to maintain stable processor operations and prolong the life of the CPU. It can be oriented as needed and a slim backplate supports the cooler without impacting solder joints.

  • newegg Excellent Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The Dynatron P199 features a copper heatsink for optimized heat dissipation and an 80mm fan for excellent cooling performance.
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low profile fits tight spaces

Cons: Cooler fan was LOUD. The fan monitor said it was running at 6000 RPM, which was 1000 RPM's faster than the maximum rated speed. I was able to slow it was still loud.

5 out of 5 eggsBig flow, little size

Pros: Best low profile fan I've found for high TDP processors. Responsive, throttles up and down smoothly.

Cons: It'll get loud when it needs to. At 5000 RPM it sounds like a turbine, but that's to be expected. If you've ever worked with a server fan before you know you trade low-profile for noise and due to it's small footprint it's got to throttle up when the heat comes on. That said, at full load on my Q6600 using Y-Cruncher 1B the fan never gets above 3800RPM (75% workload) and the CPU never gets above 53C. Good news is, rarely is it cranking that hard so on average it's been hovering at about 1800RPM and is only slightly audible on my desk right next to me. The only time I've ever heard it hit 5000 is on bootup where the motherboard runs it's test sequence at full power to the fans.

Other Thoughts: I got this because I wanted to put my old Q6600 in a miniATX HTPC case (Silverstone MILO) My existing Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro wouldn't fit and niether would most other fans I had. Stock intel BARELY fit but didn't leave room for cabling. To me the benefits of the low profile are well worth the increase in noise at times.

1 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: The shipping was ridiculously fast love newegg for the shipping

Cons: The fan didn't fit my motherboard and didn't come with any extra screws to fit it.

Other Thoughts: If it came with some extra screws i believe the fan would have fit and would have fixed my overheating cpu problem

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan for 775 CPUs

Pros: Low profile, inexpensive, already has thermal "paste".
Seems to be working for my Intel Xeon 3075 (LGA775) in a 2RU case just fine. Up and running for the past month with no issues.

Cons: Can't think of a single con.

Other Thoughts: I use this same fan on another Intel 775 chip with no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU cooler

Pros: We needed an aftermarket cooler when the stock fan died. Great replacement - no problems, quiet, cooled CPU well.

Cons: Nothing

5 out of 5 eggsRemarkable Device

Pros: Device well built, Heat sink to CPU mating very good allover. I Have a APEX M105 mini itx case with a E8400 CPU at 3.6 Ghz CPU temp runs about 60 C when playing games and 45 at idle. Only fan heat sink combo that would fit MB and case.
Fan runs under PWM at 3000 RPM and can barely hear it. Just bought 2 more for more mini itx projects.

Cons: None for this model but use caution if buying the T195 model as it uses the push pin hold down system and is very hard to apply properly.

Other Thoughts: very efficient heat transfer mechanics

3 out of 5 eggsJust OK

Pros: Small, low profile, easy to install. Good for older less powerful CPUs.

Cons: The fan setup has problems removing the hot air from the processor. Seems like the air exhaust hole for the fan is just to small to push enough air through it.

Other Thoughts: I had this thing installed with a E8400 CPU on a Zotac 9300 MoBo, in a Mini-ITX case. The CPU kept overheating when ever you tried to do anything more then browse the net.
