1 out of 5 eggsNo mating mounting bracket..

Pros: fan works

Cons: No bracket to screw heat sink too...
You should include it in your comments..
Or recommend a part is needed to complete..
Bought 10 ... now have to spend more money for the mounting bracket..
CHEAP...!!!!

Other Thoughts: How about including everything to mount his product..!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsServer fans, how I (don't) love them

Pros: Gets the job done and these are quiet if your board throttles them and the system is fairly idle.

Good height to fit into almost any case.

Cons: When they run to full RPM they are loud. I say 'they' because I have 2 of them in my tower.

Other Thoughts: These are more then enough to cool my Xeon e5645's and allow them to naturally overclock from 2.4Ghz to 2.9GHz per core continuously. Maybe just barely, but it gets it done without an overheat.

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not include a bracket!

Pros: Dynatron makes excellent quality heatsinks. I've bought over a hundred Dynatron heatsinks in the last few years. Never this model before, though...

Cons: I was shocked when I opened the box and discovered this heatsink does not include a bracket to mount it to the motherboard. I had to order brackets separately.

Every other Dynatron heatsink I've ever bought included a matching bracket. It's a huge inconvenience. I understand that Dynatron probably wants to cut costs, but they should make a point of letting the customer know before they buy so the customer can plan. I had to halt my system build until the brackets arrive.

Other Thoughts: This would normally be a 5-star product.

4 out of 5 eggsUsed with Dual Xeon E5520s

Pros: Compact size
Solid build
Quiet at low RPMs

Cons: Has to be run at low RPMs in order for it to be quiet. This means very (VERY) high idle temperatures. My Xeon 5520s idle anywhere between 75 and 80C, which is ridiculously high compared to my old Q6600 quad-core with a stock cooler, which idled at 40C. The fan dynamically ramps up to higher RPMs when using the cores and is able to maintain the temperature close to 80C. I write simulation code with OpenMP parallelization and typically fully load all cores for multiple days on end, and so far the fans have been able to maintain the temperature around 80C.

Other Thoughts: I'm using the Asus Z8NA-D6C dual Xeon ATX motherboard and was forced to buy these coolers due to space considerations.

Overall the product appears to be of excellent quality. If quiet & cool is important compared to only quiet, go with some other heatsink+fan.
