5 out of 5 eggsnice little cooler

Pros: it does cool well with a Xeon it this case a baby Xeon W3503--rated 130w TDP [ I sort of doubt it does that much ]

you do notice it is well constructed and it is quiet--a thick copper core to the CPU is
the method to cool with aluminum fines and a cute fan

Cons: the price is a bit high but w socket 1366 with the fine thread Intel backplate holes is actually a bit rare these days
used in a Xeon 1366 socket refurb project.

1 out of 5 eggsReview

Pros: New Egg shipped this product in their usually quick fashion.

Cons: No where does it state that you need to buy mounting brackets to place this on the standard socket 1366 IF you are replacing the stock cooler. Was waiting with anticipation for this to come in to replace my broken fan and heatsink. To my dismay and surprise; once I opened the box there was no mounting bracket and I would have to find a nut to fit the screw and dismount my mobo in order to "rig" it onto my CPU. Not good.

Other Thoughts: I know this is a bit dated for a 2015 PC; but like many who shop here; it's what I have because I am not ready to fork out another 2000 dollars for an up to date PC that will run state of the art in 30FPS or less. PC Specs: 2.4ghz quad core CPU, 12 gigs of DDR3, Soundblaster Z, 2 gig Nvidia card.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy but works

Pros: Seems to be working fine. No issues installing once I made a bracket.

Cons: Noisy. I had originally set it up for variable control but it was too distracting spinning up and down. So set it to "silent" mode in BIOS and now it's just a background hum I can tune out.

No Brackets. I ended up cutting up a different bracket to make this cooler work. It's a hack I didn't expect to have to do. Thankfully I had installed a different cooler a few weeks earlier and kept the spare pieces.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it more eggs if I hadn't been surprised by the no brackets issue.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome coolers

Pros: I don't understand why users give these only one egg. This cooler runs great. On a server motherboard you don't need any extra brackets and that's what these were made for, servers not desktop CPUs. If you look at Dynatron's website you'll see these are listed to work for servers CPUs.
I got two of these for a Dual Xeon X5650 (Westmere-EP) setup and run awesome!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsexceeds expectation

Pros: Exactly what I wanted, does the job. Only fits on server mother boards. Used it on multiple supermicro X8DTH-iF's. Good grease, seconds to install, solid wiring.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: you need to put these on server motherboards that sports a 1366 socket without the need for a bracket..

Cons: mounting bracket was not included in the box.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's cheap and seems to cool well. Easy installation: bolted right onto my Supermicro board's back-bracket; thermalgrease is pre-applied.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I haven't run my system under full load yet, but so far this heatsink kept both of my Intel 5520s absolutely cool. At full fan speed the case sounds like a plane about to take off - I have them spinning a bit slower which doesn't seem to make a difference for the heatsink's cooling ability, but reduces the noise significantly. I have the box standing right on my desk and the noise hasn't bothered me yet.

Easily fit into my 4U rackmount case. Looks as if they would fit into a 2U as advertised.
