4 out of 5 eggsWorks, but so loud

Pros: It's a non-stock LGA 1366 Cooler, those are tough to find nowadays
Uh... it keeps my CPU cool.

Cons: SO LOUD
It's probably because my case has a lot of mesh to help with air flow, but SO LOUD

Other Thoughts: There aren't a lot of options for CPU coolers for older CPU's, but man this thing is loud. However, it gets the job done and it's cooler a computer that has become the secondary/kids computer in the home, so I can't complain too much.

2 out of 5 eggsToo loud for HTPC

Pros: Still better than the stock Socket 775 mounting system

Cons: Louder than stock cooling.

Other Thoughts: I've never really liked the stock mounting setup on Intel 775 CPUs. I've found them to be difficult to both install, and remove. I thought I'd give this a try. Removing your motherboard from the case is required to install the backplate. You have to peel a protector off the backplate to expose the sticky double sided tape, but mine didn't want to come off; it finally did, but it left a bit of bare metal exposed on the backplate. This made me a little nervous, but after I finished the mounting job, the computer fired right up. You know it's working, because you can hear the fan across the room. This is for a knock together PC that I'm planning on using as an HTPC, with an E8500 at stock speed. I just wanted a CPU cooler that had a better mounting system than the stock one. While this has that, it's quite a bit louder than the stock cooler If there is a decibel rating in the specs, I missed it.
Taking it back off to go back to stock was not easy; the tape had a good grip on my motherboard, and I had to pry the backplate off very carefully. I'll probably use this on something where the noise isn't too big of a concern, but now I have to come up with some very thin double sided tape in order to use the 775 backplate again.

5 out of 5 eggsCu Core; fan speed doesn't "hunt"

Pros: Love the screw type hold downs. Very positive. I do much CPU swapping, so the Intel push-pin type aren't built for that. Cu core and the fan speed doesn't go up & down !
It stays constant.

Cons: This screw type takes a little longer to change out, but the time is always positive instead of having to re-stall the pushpin type to get them ALL seat tightly.

Other Thoughts: I thought my motherboard was why the prior HS/Fan this unit replaced would hunt for the correct fan speed as I would hear it going up & down. That drives me nuts. So it's the better Cu core being more consistent and/or this fan isn't OVER sensitive to the temp changes

4 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: fit on my existing 1366 backplate. dropped my temps by 20c. very quiet compared with the stock dell cooler

Cons: the included thermal paste seemed cheap--I probably would have been better to use my arctic silver but I couldn't find it and I was impatient.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat but

Pros: great design but I'm not an intel user. this is however a well made heatsink, I just wished Dynatron would come out with a socket FM2 version and I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Cons: no FM2 mounting hardware.

Other Thoughts: great fan for intel users, just wished they had a AMD version.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Replacement Cooler

Pros: Twice the size of the original Intel cooler.
Variety of mounting plates. - NO SNAP PINS
Very Quiet
Cheap price

Cons: Not for serious overclocking.

Other Thoughts: Using 2 - Intel Core 2 Duo E 8600
Intel I7-4770K
Both are performing very well and quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsGood cooler

Pros: Has over twice the mass of the stock heatsink and the copper core has more contact surface. The backplates are easy to install. Keeps my i5 2500k@4.4 below 65C under load.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I used Tuniq TX-2 instead of the included thermal compound.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat heatsink and fan

Pros: I bought this to replace the original heatsink and fan on my Q9550 CPU that got a cracked plastic connect when I removed the fan to clean up the dust on the heatsink beneath the fan. The fan would go full power using Windows Movie Maker on files that were over 12 minutes in play length. The fan kicks up at about 80C. I created a movie of 27+ minutes and the highest core hit 68C. This installed in mobo without removing it. The retaining pins threaded into the original threads of the stock cooler.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Don't know how effective it would be for gaming or OC rigs but more than adequate for normal activities.
