For the PC-enthusiast who wants a desktop that looks sizzling hot, yet stays remarkably cool, check out the Zalman CNP9500 AT CPU Cooler featuring a fan and heatsink! This hi-tech cooling device lends a rich, bright look to your PC with its flashy heatsink and frame, durably crafted out of pure copper.

The heatsink saves space with an architecturally sound 3-pipe system that effortlessly whisks heat away with the help of the automatic fan’s 92mm blades and 2 ball bearings. Controlling the fan is a PWM chip, which automatically adjusts the fan’s speed based on CPU temperature. It operates at a stealthy 18.0 dB at 1300 RPM and quietly revs to 27.5 dB at 2650 RPM during heated PC action.

  • newegg PWM Control Fan A low-noise 92mm PWM Control fan automatically controls fan speeds ranging from 1,300rpm to 2650rpm for silent cooling in relation to CPU temperatures.
  • newegg Unique Heatpipe Design Three innovative and curved heatpipes provide a heat capacity matching up to six heatpipes for maximized heat transfer.
  • newegg Optimized Heatsink Layout and Ultra-Slim Fins A 100% copper heatsink with an aerodynamically optimized "tunnel" design and 0.2mm ultra-slim fins maximize heatsink efficiency with minimal weight and smoother airflow for optimum cooling.
  • newegg Intel Platform Compatible Compatible with the Intel LGA 775/1155/1156 platforms, the Zalman CNPS9500 AT provides an ideal cooling solution for Intel Pentium 4, Celeron D, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, and Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 processors.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Cooler, Good Price

Pros: Easy to install.
They provide videos on the Zalman web site, and you can find some on You Tube.
Solid copper.
Good design.
Good price.
Does the job.

Cons: The printed doc that comes with the heat sink is not very good. But, the material available on the Zalman web site makes up for it.

Other Thoughts: I hate attaching heat sinks. It's my least favorite part of building a computer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this Zalman was a very easy install. I read the reviews and comments on Newegg first, and I watched the videos, so I knew what to be on the look out for. After orienting the mounting bracket correctly (!!!important!!!), this puppy was attached and ratcheted down in about 10 minutes. Excellent value for the $$$.

NOTE: I do not overclock and it is very rare that I have a need to light up all 4 cores, so I do not need a massive heat sink or a water cooled system. This cooler appears to work very well for a lightly stressed system.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and effective

Pros: This fan have been cooling my I7-2700K for a few years. My case is right under my feet and the noise level is very low. I am also using several variable speed case cooling fans to achieve the acceptable noise level, but this cooler is part of the equation.

Cons: Cooling fins are sharp during installation, so just take care.

Other Thoughts: I also use arctic silver thermal paste.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Quiet- has not made any indistinguishable sound at all even under high demand, playing video games and having large programs open. A lot easier to install than I thought, this was my first fan/heatsink replacement so I was quite nervous.

Cons: None at the time of this review, meets all expectations

Other Thoughts: This fan was a godsend to me, I've been using my computer's stock heatsink/fan up until now. I finally realized I couldn't put up with the noise and decided to replace it. Not only that but my processor was a constant 70 degrees Celsius while running no outstanding programs and likely higher when I was. It's now down to 20-25

5 out of 5 eggsA great aftermarket cooler

Pros: Affordable, Looks nice in the case, Great cooling, Quiet

Cons: Tightening the tension bar is nerve wracking and can be messed up due to mediocre threading on the mounting bracket. Also the tiny heatsink fins are bloodthirsty, so be careful while installing.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to write this review to clear up what some people have been saying about using this on 1150 socket CPUs. This works fine with the 1150 socket right out of the box.

The top critical review right now says that it blocks the arm that lowers the CPU plate into place, but they specifically have a space cut out on one side so that there's room for the arm to move up and down. It sounds like that reviewer has the mounting bracket rotated 90 or 180 degrees the wrong way. When done correctly, the mounting bracket can stay exactly where it is while allowing you to take the CPU out. Just pay attention when you're putting it in and it'll be obvious which way is the correct orientation.

The mounting bracket fits the 1150 socket and is actually very easy to install as long as you have easy access to the back of your motherboard, which shouldn't be an issue with most cases when you take the back panel off. The only installation issue I ran into on the two builds I've done with this cooler is the fact that, if you're not careful, it's very possible to strip the threading while screwing down the tension bar for the cooler. Be sure to go slowly and keep even tension on each side, trading off screwing a few turns on each, until it's all the way in. Keep that in mind and you'll be good to go.

For actual cooling, I've been really happy with this. It's quiet and does its job very well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: I first used this in a PC build in December 2010 on an Asus P5N-D with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Wolfdale 2.93GHz. I am now using it on a just built PC Asus Z87 Plus with an I7-4770K.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs2nd Zalman

Pros: Installation was easy. Just had to screw in the backplate to the mobo, then screw in the CPU fan. A lot easier than Intel's OEM push-pin design, although I can see where users can get frustrated if they're trying to install it to a mobo that's already mounted and doesn't have access to the bottom.

Fits perfectly in my mid-tower ATX case.

My temps are higher than average because I don't increase the fan speed until the CPU goes over 60°C so my temps are worthless to post here. I will say that it only speeds up when I'm encoding video while I'm OC'd. Other than that it stays nice 'n quiet. :)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Dunno about this performance compared to stock fan. Never installed it on this build.

Used this fan in another desktop I built about a year ago. When I decided to build another, I knew exactly what to use.

The included thermal paste works well enough, but you may want to go with something a little bit higher-end if you're picky about your temps.

Don't listen to anyone who says this isn't compatible with Haswell mobos. Working great for me!

Using a cheapy ASRock Z87 mobo.

3 out of 5 eggsmajor pain in the rear

Pros: it looks nice and it is quiet

Cons: it's a monster size pita to install , not only do they expect you to take out ur mobo to put on washers but the safety pin is a colossal pita to install as well

4 out of 5 eggsgood cooler but it's loud.

Pros: Great cooler especially for price.

Cons: The decible rating given seems understated. It is pretty loud all of the time. Also it is pretty big so micro cases be weary.

1 out of 5 eggsQuality Problem

Pros: Low Noise
Large fans
Efficient

Cons: Threads of screws

Other Thoughts: Short screws connecting fan to 1155 adapter lost their threads upon connecting fan to 1155 adapter (all 4 screws-only 2 are needed) . Had to go to Lowes to replace them.

This is not a minor issue since it could have happened after installation where fan would separate from processor.

As the saying says "The weakest link determines whether something is successful or not" and indicates lousy quality control.

Manufacturer Response:
