Zalman's STG1 is an easy to apply compound that increases the thermal efficiency of your computer's CPU cooling system by eliminating the miniscule air gaps between the processor and the heat sink. Instead of messy squeeze tubes STG1 comes in a bottle with a handy in-cap brush.
Application is a simple process. Remove the heat sink, brush the STG1 onto the heat sink, re-attach the heat sink. It conducts heat away from sensitive components and improves the efficiency of your cooling system. Keep things cool and functioning under the hottest action!

- Pros: Is just as effective if not more so than Arctic Silver 5 by a few degrees Celsius. Easy to apply for lazy people, brush included in the cap.
- Cons: Small, but if you read the specs it should hold 3.5g, same as a small tube of Arctic Silver 5. More expensive than most other thermal compounds but almost insignificantly so.
- Other Thoughts: Apparently you can't write the abbreviaton for Arctic Silver 5 anymore, it's "offensive"
Excellent
- Pros: Very, very good thermal interface material. I've used many types of thermal paste, to include all Arctic Silver compounds (except Ceramique), and this beats them all. So far, I'm getting about 2*C better performance (cooler running) on heatsink applications than with Arctic Silver 5. A big plus is the Zalman fluid is so much easier to install than Arctic Silver. Perhaps in a laboratry environment A.S. 5 and the Zalman would perform equivalently, but not in practical use.
- Cons: see "Other Thoughts"
- Other Thoughts: I just can't believe that this tiny bottle of solution will service as many heatsinks as the standard size syringe of A.S. 5.
Pricey.

Worthwhile investment
- Pros: Easy application makes for perfect application
- Cons: None, but it's really a preference for which type of grease you use. Try them both out (Arctic Silver 5 & STG1)
- Other Thoughts: Price is understandable, I used one bottle to apply it on 2 graphics cards, and 4 processors. And I still have some residue at the bottom.
Awesome thermal paste
- Pros: Best thermal paste I ever used. I used this on several laptops, and the fans didn't kick on for a while, and the fans weren't as loud cause of this thermal paste.
I stored this thermal compound in freezing temperatures, and in warm, hot temperatures, and it stayed fine for 1-2 years, but then I ran out of compound cause I used it on customer computers, my computers, playstation 3's, xbox 360, ect.
It is the best thermal paste on no matter what cpu/gpu. The fans on my ps3, and xbox 360 both where quieter cause the cpu, and gpu didn't heat up as fast.
- Cons: Are you honestly kidding me? If you know how to use this stuff you won't have any cons. Don't know how to use it watch videos on youtube on how to apply thermal paste, go to school for computer stuff, or get a professional to do this.
Best compound for the money
- Pros: 1. Brush aplication
2. Good conducting material
- Cons: Price.
- Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for with this compound, it allows you to efficiantly apply thermal compound. Its a thiner compound allowing you to apply a thin even coat. Less oozing over the processor when you get done with this stuff. It also conducts jsut as good as artic silver if not better. I went alot further with this bottle vs. a single squeeze type dispensor. The fact that im so excited that I can't find the words, even over something as simple as thermal compound should tell you something.

1. Best Performance Zalman’s Super Thermal Grease (STG) maximizes heat transfer by eliminating the minute air gap between the heat source and the heat sink caused by their irregular surfaces. 2. Ease of use The brush attached to the bottle enables easy application and also prevents unnecessary waste of grease. 3. Easy Storage A sealed bottle keeps the grease fresh for longer time, which is necessary since the bottled quantity allows 10 or more times of use. |
