5 out of 5 eggs3 Years and still going strong!!

Pros: Quiet, Reliable, extremely good cooling, looks cool.

Cons: Flow Rate meter gets stuck occasionally, Not the Flow sensor. It doesn't remember the settings of switches and I have to set them everytime I turn it in.

Other Thoughts: This is now over three years old and has not failed me once. I have it cooling Quad core Q6600 overclocked, and two BFG 8800 Ultras SLI also overclocked. The temp stays at a comfortable 30 - 35 degrees C. I dont recall ever seeing it over 40, even quad loggin my MMO or playing COD4 in 1920 x 1200 Maxed graphics.
I use the system in manual control with the temp display set to F so I can see what my room temp is....
I normally crank it up past where the auto setting is, I would rather keep it cool than have it speed up to cool it after it gets warm.
I wish this was still available as I would like another.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Enough

Pros: Easy to set up
Good for beginners
"Quick connect" is awesome
Quiet unless turned up.

Cons: Hard to maintain/replace parts
Heavy

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for almost 2 years now and the only real problem I've had with it is the flow sensor acting up. One air bubble gets in there for whatever reason and good luck getting it to keep going. What I eventually did was take a website's advice and open it up to add another plastic washer onto the flow wheel. This loosened it up and made it easier to spin. Now if an air bubble gets in there I can just turn the pump up and push it out because the wheel will keep spinning even if there's minimal flow.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is greate

Pros: This is a great product, I am currently cooling my CPU, volt-regulator, north bridge, south bridge, RAM, and GPU, and everything stays out below 40 degrees Celsius at idel and below 60 degrees Celsius at full load.

Nforce 790i pwm SLI Ultra
OCZ Flex II
Gforce GTX 295
Cooler master 1250w power supply
Patriot warp 64g

If you don’t know what you’re doing or at lest known the principals behind water cooling on anything from a computer to a cart you should not live bad fed back. I found this product to be more reliable than custom water cooling kits. Reasons les parts to worry about and all ready assemble for you outstanding quality all aluminum gauges a true plug and play.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I notice that people are having problems with clogging which will eventually lead to dead pumps and over heating of the computer components. And the main cause is that people do not know what they are doing. I suggest that you read on the types of coolants available for automotive and how they work and what is there main purposes, also research what happens when you use or mix water with cooling products such as glycol i. Only then I believe people will stop having problems whit there water cooling systems and stop blaming the manufactures for there own ignorance

1 out of 5 eggsHow to fix this unit

Pros: When it works it's ok.

Cons: Doesn't work. Zalman will try and tell you to tip the unit this way and that. In the end though it's a complete waste of time.

Other Thoughts: I've got two of this units and they both suffer from the same problem. As other people have noted the flow sensor is the weak link in this device. When the flow sensor stops turning, the device will shutdown resulting in overheating of your CPU.

To fix this problem, I hardwired the fan and pump to the 12v input. I disconnected the control board. Now the pump and fan run at full capacity and my computer stays cool. Of course you lose the blue lights, but I just found those distracting.

Of course you perform this mod at your own risk. It's very easy though. It took me five minutes.

If you could determine the type of output of the flow sensor you could spoof the control circuitry and maintain the blue lights and control over the pump and fan. I haven't tried but I might give a whirl with my second unit.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Ripoff!

Pros: It's pretty black anodized aluminum

Cons: Pump weak, have to hit it on the side when starting up to get the water to flow. No matter what solution I've used it has caused a buildup in the water block and restricts flow. I have had to take the block off at least ten times and disassemble to clean it out. What a joke of a product. The first pump went out after 2 months of use. I e-mailed Zalman and they sent me a new one, still underpowered. I'm going to use this as an anchor for my boat, at least it'll work doing that...I hope. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL BE THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY!!!

Other Thoughts: If Zalman wants to charge such high prices, put the quality into the parts and the functionality, not the aluminum anodizing. Over $400 for aTOTAL piece of rubbish.

1 out of 5 eggsnot fun

Pros: Lit flow indicator to show you how miserable the flow is.

Temperature display is convenient

Cons: I have owned the reserator1, reserator2, and now the reserator xt. Reserator1 was my favorite. Completely reliable massive pump reservoir that heated your room like a furnace. Never had a single problem over the 4 years of ownership. Except for cleaning the inside of the reservoir once due to the paint coming off and clogging the pump. Easy clean.

Reserator2 failed me after 1 year of purchase. Just went dead exactly at 1 year of ownership. A shame.

Now, I think the reserator xt had a great design if you ever looked inside it. However, I believe that they should have used a larger pump, like 600 l/hr. The fluid has to travel through all the cooling coils, which is a long way to travel but an effective way to cool the fluid. The pump is just not cutting it and mine also molded up slightly somehow using the zalman coolant. Cleaned thoroughly with 97% rubbing alcohol and flushed with distilled water. Still seems to just disappoint me.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy this Unit unless you enjoy Stress!

Pros: None

Cons: Everything about it is a con-
It has been replaced once, I had to pay for shipping, the second unit is as bad as the first unit, Zalman uses subpar parts, then they charge way too much, it has a weak pump, it fails all the time, and I need to waste a bunch of time shaking it and messing with it to get it to work, this should not need to be done at all when spending this much money, let alone as much as I need to mess with this unit.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo units - both junk

Pros: It must make Zalman a lot of money.

Cons: The first unit I had worked for about 6 months before it started beeping on start up. I would have to reset it and set it to manual and crank up the pump speed. After a couple of months even this would work. Degassed it, replaced the water, still had the same problems. I had to buy a new one as Newegg were unable to ship out a new one until they received my old unit. I needed to use my computer, so I had to order another unit. The new one didn't even last two months.

Other Thoughts: This product is rubbish. I will not be buying any more Zalman products.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: None

Cons: As others have stated, the Reservator XT is a defective product. Have had the same problem where after a few months the unit will stop working. The flow meter stops working and repeated attempts to degass it do not solve the problem. Followed Zalman's instructions for degassing it by tilting the unit but that does not solve the problem. Zalman told me that they would no longer provide customer support for the unit.

Other Thoughts: I enjoyed the benefits of water cooling for a while, but overall I highly recommend that you do not buy this unit.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy One of These

Pros: None. does not work

Cons: Have had to RMA this unit twice. Zalman keeps claiming there is no problem with the unit. When I turn on the computer, the Reservator starts beeping. Reset it several times and bleed air out of the system. Still no good. Zalman has bascially refused to service the unit any longer and will not provide even basic customer service. They told me that they are a Taiwanese company and that there is nothing I can do about the defective unit. If you buy one of these you might as well throw your money away.

Other Thoughts: Zalman has the worst customer service imaginable. When i asked to speak to a manager I was told that none of them speak english and that I would be better off talking to the wall.
