The Zalman CNPS 7500B AlCu, features a quiet, downward blowing 110mm ball bearing fan at the heart of a radial array of aluminum and copper convection fins. Blue LEDs give the impression of an alien powersource as they reflect off the metallic fins and demonstrate Zalman's reputation for combining style and function.
While the fan operates at low 32 dBA in its normal 2300 RPM setting, selecting Silent Mode using the included FAN MATE controller drops it nearly 50% to 17 dBA as well as eliminating vibration. With its unrestricted flow, it cools not only the CPU, but the RAM, VGA card, Northbridge and other nearby components.
Heat is drawn away from the CPU by the base of the heatsink and it is transferred up into the twin semi-circular arrays of aluminum and copper fins for dissipation. The 7500 AlCu is only 60% the weight of the pure copper model which lessens the possibility of stress damage to the motherboard. The 7500AlCu is a stylish and efficient addition to systems running Intel Socket 478 & 775 processors as well as the full range of AMD chips utilizing the 754, 939, 940 and AM2 sockets.

Cool and Quiet! :)
- Pros: It's a lot cooler than the stock cooler, I placed it on top of an Intel Core 2 Quad and it cools it down significantly better than the lousy piece of junk stock fan that Intel provided. It was actually EASIER to install this heatsink, as opposed to the stock fan. The average temps are usually at 35°C - 40°C on the lowest speed setting. However when the fan RPM is increased, the CPU cools down significantly to a very cold 28°C!! (82°F). Whats very nice about it, is how its just so quiet! Not loud at all as the name suggests. And it works just as advertised.
- Cons: There really isn't any cons with this. It does what it's supposed to do, so there really isn't anything wrong.. Perhaps removing the motherboard to install it? But that is expected 75% of the time when installing aftermarket CPU fans and heatsinks... I haven't tried overclocking the CPU, there really is no need anyway in my opinion since it runs pretty fast on stock settings. I may do some slight overclocking when I need to get video editing done, but for gaming, there is really no need to do so...
- Other Thoughts: I originally wanted to get the 100% Cu version as it would've probably cool it down even further.. But since the Core 2 Quad and Duo class of CPU's don't tend to overheat a lot or even generate much heat, it wasn't really necessary, and it is significantly lighter than the 100% Cu version.. If you are running a Core 2 Duo or Quad and only intend to lightly overclock it, then this would be your best bet, if you are going to do some significant overclocking then the 100%Cu (Zalman 7500Cu) would be your best bet....
Silent...not.
- Pros: Overall, the quality of the Zalman CNPS 7500 is very good. It installed on an MSI AM2 socketed mother board without a problem. The fan speed controller equally installed and works well, controlling the fan speed within the specified range. CPU stays cool even at the slowest setting.
- Cons: Silent to me is having the PC under a desk next to my legs and not being able to hear any noise eminating from the box. Using this criteria, the unit is not silent. Even when the fan speed is set to its lowest, which is around 1,100 RPM, you can still hear wind.
- Other Thoughts: I would call this a very quiet cooler but not silent. The sound level goes up quite a bit at the slightest fan speed increase from low. But the sound doesn't get annoying. I think this fan may be silent spinning at around 950~1000 RPM. I would recommend this cooler unless absolute quiet is a necessity.

Works well!
- Pros: I just installed it last night with my AM2 AMD FX 3800+ processor. Installation is very quick. Just add a clip and then put on top of processor and connect the springs.
Quiet on lowest settings. Definitely better than my stock heatsink and fan!
- Cons: None. Make sure you have 61.5 mm radius around your CPU.
- Other Thoughts: Low profile is awesome. Fits great in my htpc case.
- Pros: Keeps my cpu cool. Average temps around 27-30 at idle. Jumps up to around 40 at load. Nice and lightweight. Easy to install on amd am2. Price is pretty good too for the cooling you get.
- Cons: Wish the fan was quieter. I have an A-plus El Diablo with the 360mm fan on the side, a 250mm fan in the front, and a rosewill 120mm fan in the back and the only fan I hear is the Zalman cpu fan.
Good cooler for old motherboards.
- Pros: 1. Good cooling.
2. Quiet at low speed. 3. Has a manual speed control.
- Cons: 1. Has a 3 pin connector - doesn't allow automatic speed control.
2. The provided clip didn't fit into my ASUS P5Q3. Tried to bend the clip to fit but it broke in a second. Had to make my own clip and finally (2 hour later) it was in.
- Other Thoughts: Check the radius of about 6 cm around the center of processor - any motherboard that has elements on 2 neighboring sides of processor wouldn't fit this cooler. The clips on the 2 oppsite sides of the cooler wouldn't have space to fit.
