ZALMAN CNPS 7500 Cu LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

  • 1150-2300 RPM ± 10%
  • Copper
ICON Loading...

The Zalman CNPS 7500 Cu is a sculpture in copper, featuring a quiet, downward blowing 110mm ball bearing fan at the heart of a radial array of copper convection fins. Blue LEDs give the impression of an alien powersource as they reflect off the metallic fins and demonstrate Zalman's reputation for combining style and function.

While the fan operates at low 32 dBA in its normal 2300 RPM setting, selecting Silent Mode using the included FAN MATE controller drops it nearly 50% to 17 dBA as well as eliminating vibration. With its unrestricted flow, it cools not only the CPU, but the RAM, VGA card, Northbridge and other nearby components.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance The ZALMAN CNPS7500 Cu features a pure copper base and high-density copper fins, plus a large 110mm dual-ball bearing LED fan to deliver supreme cooling performance.
  • newegg Adjustable Fan Speed Controller The ZALMAN CNPS7500 Cu comes with a fan speed controller (Fan Mate 2) so you can fine tune the fan speeds for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The ZALMAN CNPS7500 Cu features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940 and AM2/AM2+/AM3 platforms, as well as Intel socket LGA 775/1155/1156 platforms.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well made, durable, good size, extra parts included

Cons: The fan spreads out too far too low, taking up space within the adjoining ram slots. Inserting the ram first lets you use the ram slots, but the heatsink will make contact with the ram chip - which is not desirable in the least.

Other Thoughts: If the clearance at the edges had been higher there'd be no issues with the ram (except for really tall chips). Even just bringing in the size a couple millimeters would have solved the biggest con.

4 out of 5 eggsSharp Cooler

Pros: Easy install, Pretty to look at.

Cons: Fins are sharp, not as quiet as I hoped. Small fan hum.

Other Thoughts: Cools better than stock, but not as good as I hoped. Might be me since i didnt use Artic and used the cheap thermal grease they gave me. Currently overclocking 3.2 vishera at 4.0. 115 F temp.

5 out of 5 eggsBest solution for socket AM3

Pros: Quality, quiet, easy to install

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't review many products on here but I just wanted to say this is absolutely the best cooler I've ever purchased. I needed to replace my worn out aftermarket HSF on my AMD FX rig which has poor airflow to begin with. Under load my CPU was hitting 80+ Celsius and my system even shut itself off a few times. Most good coolers require you to completely remove your motherboard to install a backing plate if you have an older case like me. I really wanted to avoid that hassle so I gave this cooler a shot. So glad I did, installed in seconds, and my CPU has not gotten above 50c under full load since.

4 out of 5 eggsFits well, Copper is great, Fan is LOUD at full RPM

Pros: You can't beat copper for conducting heat. This medium sized copper heatsink and fan has a somewhat compact design (without being "too small" IMO) that should fit into your case without a lot of hassles.

Fan-Mate RPM controller is a lifesaver for noise issues.. see "Cons" below...

Cons: Fan is NOISY at full RPM. It sounds a bit like a wood chipper. Within 2 hours, I installed the fan-mate controller and turned the RPMs almost all the way down.

The included thermal grease is a joke. It's zinc oxide, (the stuff you use on your nose at the beach to prevent sunburn) and mine was "watery" coming out of the tube. Buy some thermal grease from another vendor (I got some polysynthetic silver)

Other Thoughts: Despite a few cons, I'm happy with the price and overall quality of this unit. Without the fan-mate RPM controller, however, I'd be returning this unit for being too noisy.

5 out of 5 eggsLove Zalman

Pros: man, I try other heatsinks, and there's just nothing that has consistently worked as well for me.

this one fits nicely in a micro atx case, is quiet with the fan turned down, and has a nice led

Cons: i don't really like the led, maybe i'll get rid of it?

4 out of 5 eggsLow RPM noise

Pros: Copper, Size, Design, LED

Cons: At low RPM, it has some annoying noise..........

Other Thoughts: Had the Al+Cu one before, this one isnt bad either, just the low RPM noise bugs me slightly.

4 out of 5 eggsBig Cooler

Pros: Cooler seems to be doing a decent job. Idle temps are around 30-35 Celcius. I haven't OC'd yet.

Cons: One major con with this cooler is it's size. I installed this on a AsRock Z77 Extreme4 and it extends into the first Ram slot. I had future plans to install 4x4GB chips but that's not going to happen now.

3 out of 5 eggsStylish and efficient, but has some problems.

Pros: The heat sink performs great and it looks really cool in the case.

Cons: After about a year the fan of the heat sink slowly started to die, the bearing went off kilter and the fan blades started to clip the inside edge of the copper sink fins making an awful noise... Eventually I got sick of it and bought a new 100mm fan and replaced it with some engineering skills. I couldn't throw that lovely copper sink away! The performance has dropped noticeably since I swapped fans but it's still in acceptable levels.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but bulky

Pros: Good quality, quiet and keeps my system cool.

Cons: I moved this fan from an old system to a new one and it completely blocks multiple RAM slots.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this fan on my older socket 775 mobo but on this smaller mobo, it's too bulky. Good quality though and I wish I could keep it.
