Long popular for the design and engineering of their products, Zalman continues to deliver on their tradition by producing quality products backed with excellent service. The CNPS9900LED goes a step further by looking good as it cools your AMD or Intel processor.

The efficient dual copper heatsink design combines a 3-pipe system that effortlessly whisks heat away with the help of the 120mm blue LED fan’s blades and 2 ball bearings. Noise level can be lessened automatically by using the integrated PWM functionality which lets the BIOS monitor fan performance and thermal need and adjust the fan's speed accordingly.

The CNPS9900LED is compatible with all single- and multi-core CPUs for Intel's Socket 775/1156/1366 and AMD’s Socket AM3/AM2+/AM2/754/939/940. All the clips and backplates are included so there's nothing else to buy to get the unit attached to your motherboard in minutes.

  • newegg Pure Copper Heatsink Base and Fins A pure copper base and circular heatsink formed by radially aligned ultra-thin (0.2mm) copper fins maximize heat dissipation surface area for excellent cooling performance.
  • newegg High-efficient Heatpipe Design The innovative heatpipe design delivers a heat transfer capacity equivalent to 6 heatpipes with just 3.

1 out of 5 eggsSpent $40 on this, it did over $500 in damage

Pros: The store I bought it from refunded the product, even though the copper fins were completely bent out of shape from step 6 in the instructions.

Cons: - Terrible bracket design. While following step 6 of the AMD section the motherboard cracked around the AM3 socket and the CPU also bent.

Never buying Zalman again. I've been building computers since the mid 90s and I have never seen such a terrible design. IT BROKE THE MOTHERBOARD!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Even the OEM heatsink/fan is better than this because it didn't break the motherboard,

I would have given this 0 stars if Newegg let me. Probably the worst purchase I have ever made in my life.

5 out of 5 eggsLasted a good while

Pros: - Dropped temps to mid 30's
- Pretty quiet
- Easy Install
- Blue LED

Cons: - Fan stopped working after 1.5 Years.
- Replacement heat sink not easy to find.

Other Thoughts: Given that the fan replacement is hard to find I would choose a manufacturer that has parts easily available.

****Updated from 1/10/16 - Wrote in to the Zalman website asking where I could buy parts and they sent me the malfunctioning heat sink fan from outta nowhere. Bumbed it to 5 starts instead of 4.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Cools well for the most part, blue led looks awesome in case. i

Cons: Discoloration after a while and fan will die and you'll have to get a replacment, which the manufacturer sent with no hassel.

Other Thoughts: Dont tighten down too far. If copper gets too dusty, the fan will spin unbalanced an eventually break. Clean accordingly. I pull mines out and wash it with water and no longer keep my case on the floor.

5 out of 5 eggs5 Years Later, and Still Going

Pros: - Nearly silent operation
- Disipates heat well
- Unique design

Cons: - A bit difficult to install (Very tight lock up)

Other Thoughts: I've been using this cooler for 5 years to keep my i5-750 running a stable 4GHz Overclock without fail. Under normal gaming conditions CPU will hover around 65c and usually around 40c when at idle or browsing internet. If I run the CPU at stock clocks, the fan barely goes above idle speeds and the temps are a good 15-20 degrees cooler. I'm going to keep this guy around for as long as it will let me. At this point, I have no reason to switch over to water cooling or a different heat sink.

1 out of 5 eggsNearly impossible to install, obtursive, noisy (causes case rattle)

Pros: I guess it keeps the system cool

Cons: Nearly impossible to install.
So large it is obtrusive and in the way.
So large it causes case rattle.

Other Thoughts: I was not able to install this fan myself. A professional was BARELY able to do it. He had to press SO HARD to screw the fan into the motherboard I was terrified something was going to break. It took him about THIRTY MINUTES to install this. I will never buy a huge, ostentatious part like this again. The thing is so big it causes my case to rattle if anything is the slightest bit loose.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Moves air, dissipates heat. Does what I expected, hasn't failed.

Cons: Cannot be used as a life preserver.

Other Thoughts: For my new build I'm switching to a closed loop water cooler because gigantic air coolers just aren't cool enough anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Very quiet cooler as many have said, computer runs so much cooler and quieter with this fan/heatsink than it did with the stock Intel cooler on my i7 950 processor. No complaints about the results of this product at all. Good value.

Cons: This thing can be a pain to install as many others have said. Many installed the cooler while the motherboard was outside of their case, I used a second person to hold the mount in place while securing the screws to it. The screws do round out fairly easily too, so get them tight enough to hold the cooler in place but don't tighten them so much they start to round out.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am very happy with this product, the only reason for the markdown to 4 eggs was due to the mounting hardware issues, if better hardware was included and wasn't so much of a pain to install, I would easily have given 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsZalman's soo nice

Pros: I originally gave this a 2 stars because my fan started rattling after a year, today i opened the mail and there's a new fan, thankyou Zalman, i dont remember requesting it, maybe they read my review, so i am now well pleased, thanks again for making it right, even though i've owned it for 2 years now.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Im a liquid cooler and nothings beats a waterblock., but untill my money gets better, its air for now.
