Zalman’s CNPS7000C-AlCu silent CPU cooler was built with pure copper and pure aluminum for enhanced performance and optimized compatibility design. A mixture of aluminum and copper base and fins ensure excellent heat dissipation while providing an attractive appearance. An enclosed 92mm dual ball-bearing fan is reasonably silent even at its maximum fan speed setting, but yet offers excellent cooling. When your aim is to silently cool the CPU, this sophisticated cooler will accomplish your tasks with flying colors. (Note for CPU installation: no motherboard components with a height greater than 39mm, as well as the PSU, disk drives, VGA card, and RAM should be present within a 55mm radius from the center of the CPU.)

  • newegg It’s all about silence The 92mm fan inside the heatsink maximizes airflow and does not generate noise or vibration in Silent Mode. Adjustable fan speed controller (FAN MATE 2 and FAN MATE 2 cable) is included for control of noise and fan performance.
  • newegg Pure Copper and Pure Aluminum Materials Pure copper & pure aluminum base and fins disperse heat away from the CPU, while the central 92mm fan quickly cools the heatsink for stable operation of high performance CPUs.
  • newegg Versatile Compatibility The CNPS7000C-AlCu accommodates a broad range of sockets including Intel LGA 1155/1156/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2/754/939/940 (up to 95W TDP).

4 out of 5 eggsGood and Reliable product

Pros: Have used many of their products before and have not had a failure to date
Best in class, bang for buck

Cons: Zalman needs to include a two piece AMD Mobo adapter for 965 chipset boards which I had to scrounge from other extra Zalman cooler parts i had on hand.
Box stated works with AMD Phenon II, but fine print inside book showed would not mount to Phenom II 965 Mobo

Other Thoughts: Reliable, Great, Cheap, Simple and works fine if you are not going to overclock your CPU much.
Much better cooling than factory/oem CPU coolers

3 out of 5 eggsthis thing is definitely not cool or quiet.

Pros: its technically a cooler
has a fan controller

Cons: Definitely not quiet, i first booted the rig in my living room, with a tv on, and my wifes laptop on my lap...and i could hear the rig from this cooler... over all of that.

4 out of 5 eggsCool, but loud

Pros: 30C Idle, 54C Rendering images, 48C on high texture max graphics games on i7-4770k w/gtx 960. Clears RAM on mATX, and its short

Cons: its loud. its not refurbished Dell optiplex leaf blower loud, but its between that and stock fan at 2650 RPM

Other Thoughts: had a long review, hit f5 on accident. Hope this helps Eggs based on price to capability ratio. Comes with side-mount controller

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough for AMD 8-core

Pros: Cheap! ($20 after $10 rebate)
Quiet! (A little quieter than the stock fan for my FX-8320)
Small! (Relatively short, only a little wider than stock heatsink)
It works! (10~15°C reduced temp from stock fan/heatsink)
No light (preferential)
Aesthetic appeal

More details in other thoughts.

Cons: Not hugely impactful. Fixed my heat issue (about 10°C too hot at load). Stronger (though more expensive) options out there. Probably not enough for modern overclocking.

Fairly wide, though not enough to cause me a problem.

Other Thoughts: My problem: FX-8320 too hot during summertime gaming. PC shutting off.
Relevant system specs: FX-8320, MSI 760-GMA-P34 Mobo, 2 Ram slots, Ram sticks w/o heat spreaders. NZXT Source 220 Case. System purchased from Newegg (IBuyPower) (~18 mo. old)

Dimensions were a particular problem for me. Wasn't sure if this one would fit. With my stock, ADATA ram, the side of the heatsink sits approx 1/4" above the closest ram slot. If the RAM had a heat spreader, I would not recommend the purchase, as the fit might be too close. Just so happened to work out for me.

Results: System Idle (1 browser window open) = 40°C
Modern Games, max settings = 60-65°C. Within recommended limits for AMD processor.

5 out of 5 eggsbetter than stock, but not the best for OCing

Pros: Cheap $4.99 After rebate

Cons: Tried on i5-3590k stock temps on prime 95 75-80 seems super high to me. Fan turned to max
I am using stock cpu paste, so switching to artic silver and will report back later with update

Other Thoughts: cant compain for price, but was hoping for a little lower temps so to oc a little.

5 out of 5 eggsA Decent Cooler

Pros: Simple Installation
Definitely better cooling than stock Intel fan
Comes with optional fan controller

Cons: Seems a bit louder than stock fan at max rpm

Other Thoughts: Im a bit inexperienced when it comes to custom pc building. My pc was built for me and Ive owned it for a few years. I saw a good deal for this cpu cooler and decided to jump on it. I only had to pay for shipping and the time it took for the mail in rebate.

Im running an Intel core 2 quad q8300 at 2.5ghz. With stock cooler I got about 50 degrees Celsius during normal operation. With the Zalman cooler Im getting about 35-40 degrees Celsius.

It took me about 30 minutes to install which, I think, wasnt that bad since it was my first time. Manual was pretty straight forward and made it simple to install. It noticed that the cooler came with thermal grease but I used my own arctic silver 5 thermal compound instead.

Final thoughts:
A good cooler for the price. It definitely gets the job done and was a more efficient cooler compared to the stock cpu cooler I previously had. For me, the fan was a bit louder than the previous fan but this might be because I passed on the fan controller it came with. Not enough of a problem to strike an egg off.

5 out of 5 eggsZALMAN CNPS7000C-AlCu 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: -Easy installation on intel socket 1150 mITX motherboard. Didn't block the two RAM slots either. Nice fit in a case requiring a low profile cpu cooler.

-Cools an overclocked G3258 at 4.2Ghz just fine. Idle temps at 31c, load temps at 62c with the cooler's fan set to an inaudible 1500rpm via the fan controller provided with the zalman kit.

This a great little cpu cooler. Got it for free from Newegg after a $20 rebate, which was approved, and a $9.99 off promo code.

Cons: The fan comes with a 3-pin connector. It is not able to be controlled by the motherboard. If you plug this into your motherboard's cpu fan header, it will run at full speed (and thus super loud). Provided is a simple, small fan controller. This will allow you to control your fan speed manually. Not worth taking an egg off, but it is more cabling and clutter to add to what is probably a space limited mITX case (if you are buying this for the low profile nature of the cpu cooler, you probably have a space limited case).

Other Thoughts: If you can get this with a $20 MIR, it is a pretty decent low profile cpu cooler for its capabilities.

3 out of 5 eggsFancy cooler

Pros: Price.
Looks nice

Cons: 3 pin only - no MB fan control...must use bulky fan controller.(included)
Intel stock cooler performance
Loud fan above 35% speed
Out dated product

Other Thoughts: This is an ancient cooler from Core Duo era. It is OK with minimum fan speed with mild office computing but I do not think it can handle current i7 K family processors.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cooler

Pros: Cheap.
Decent performance.
Fan controller?

Cons: 3 pin....MB speed sontrol (4pin) will not work.

Other Thoughts: It would be 5 eggs if it has 4 pin connector. Must use fan controller to prevent running max rpm.

5 out of 5 eggsDropped my temp by about 20 degrees celsius

Pros: Works with both chipsets. Clipped on just like it should to my AMD FX processor. PC kept getting up to 60 degrees celsius and i wasn't even really doing anything. Now it's at a steady 40 degrees. Also, it was free because of a $20 rebate and a $10 promo code. Awesome.

Cons: None
