5 out of 5 eggsUse the resistor (voltage reducer)

Pros: I am a stickler for a quiet case. Using the voltage reducer the fan is undetectable and I am quite pleased at the volume of air that it still pulls through. After a year the fan still runs well and makes no noise. Better than SileneX fans at any rate.

Cons: White? i dont get that.

4 out of 5 eggsLoud without the voltage reducer!

Pros: This punches out a good volume of air. The included voltage reducer works great. I liked the white color and the fan blade design is unique and seems to work. I really liked the design of the silicon grommets also. They hold the fan nicely in place but as quiet as possible.

Cons: This fan is quite loud at full speed without the voltage reducer. I was actually really surprised about that. I had just added a 7870 Tahiti LE card also purchased from Newegg and thought the fan on that was causing all of the noise. I found out that it was actually this fan at its native speed.

I connected the voltage reducer that is included and now the fan noise is minimal and it still pushes a good amount of air. I'm using as supplemental supply to my CPU in a Lian Li case so I didn't need the full supply of air that this fan could provide.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm pleased with this fan. I think most would prefer the full speed of the fan to produce less noise than it did, but the voltage reduction makes a big difference for the noise of this fan.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Product

Pros: None

Cons: Ordered this fan the first time and the fan packaging was smashed and so was the fan casing. Preventing it from spinning at all. They sent me a replacement, installed it an it worked for 5 mins. Will not be ordering this fan again!

3 out of 5 eggsDOA....or was it?

Pros: This fan turned out to be very quiet and just want I needed.

Cons: When I first installed this fan, it didn't work at all. I tried it on different computers, different power supplies, etc. At most it would wiggle back and forth a couple of times then stop. I was about to get an RMA but I was making one last check and I spun the fan with my finger and it turned ok but sounded a little rough. I pushed and pulled on it some to see if it was binding and the fan actually separated from the motor! I put it back in place and the magnet held it in place fairly firmly and it could spin but something was still not right. I pushed down on it a little harder and heard a little click. Gave it a spin and it was perfectly smooth with no sound. Pulled on it to make sure it didn't pop off again. It was solid. No way this accidently came loose in shipping, it left the factory this way. Plugged it in and it is now working perfectly and silently.

Other Thoughts: If this fan worked when it arrived, I'm sure I'd give it 5 stars. The fact that it arrived in a faulty condition suggests to me that these are not tested before being sent out. I might expect this from a stock/OEM fan but not a "premium" fan.

If you have a problem with yours, you might want to try what I did before you spend time with an RMA.

5 out of 5 eggsShark Fin Laser Beams.

Pros: The shark fin design actually seems to pull alot more air than a normal fan of the same size while maintaining the silent factor. Comes with the rubber plug type of screw which is very lazy and easy to use. You will not be dissatisfied with these

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this alongside a scythe and a cougar fan. They all perform well, but the design of the blade on this is great as an exhaust fan.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Solution

Pros: Quiet, Plug and play

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The case fan in my old HP was getting noisy and replacing it with something quiet was a priority. This filled the bill. I don't hear this fan at all and now hear other noises from the PC. The silicone mounting plugs are pretty trick and make mounting a snap. Very slick

5 out of 5 eggsSeems to be worth it

Pros: -Great looks
-Better than average airflow
-VERY quiet! had to put it to my ear to hear it!
-Nice housing, cables, and mounting system
-Good static airflow for heatsink fans. I replaced the stock heatsink fans on my cooler master hyper n520 and lowered max temps by about 7 degrees, now my max is 40, idle is from 15 to 20.

Cons: -Expensive!!! but you know that going in to it
-Not as high airflow as the price suggests
-Zalman STILL doesn't have a simple CFM measurement, I'd rate it at 50-60

Other Thoughts: -Judging by the lifetime of the fan Zlman gives, I'll say its worth the investment. But if you're not a serious builder, then I'd say go with a cheaper blade master or something.
