The ZALMAN CNPS8000B offers high performance cooling at a noticeably low noise level. An ultra quiet 92mm PWM fan with fluid shield bearing, four heatpipes and aluminum fins combines to deliver efficient heat dissipation to keep your CPU and surroundings cool. With a height of only 66mm, the CNPS8000B is perfect for LP (low profile) cases while broad socket compatibility makes it suitable for almost all the mainstream motherboard platforms. Thanks to the one piece design of the installation clip and bolt, the installation is a breeze.

  • newegg Ultra quiet fan with fluid shield bearing Thanks to the 4-pin 92mm PWM fan, the switching noise* is eliminated. With FSB (Fluid Shield Bearing) bearings, the fan’s lifespan and noise is improved considerably compared to previous sleeve bearing fans. (*switching noise is the high frequency harmonic noise that can result from voltage regulation.)
  • newegg Powerful Cooling Performance Four heatpipes and aluminum fins are designed for maximum cooling while switching noise free, down-blowing 92mm fan minimizes noise and cools not only the CPU but also provides powerful peripheral cooling.
  • newegg Slim profile The CPU cooler’s height is 66mm and designed to be installed in ATX case as well as slim or LP (low profile) cases.
  • newegg Versatile Compatibility The CNPS8000B accommodates a broad range of sockets including Intel LGA1156/1155/1366/775 and AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2.
  • newegg Easy Installation The cooler installation clip and bolt are designed as one-piece, making installation convenient, and the exclusive back plate prevents flexing of the motherboard.
  • newegg High Performance Super Thermal Grease ZM-STG2M The high performance super thermal grease ZM-STG2M maximizes heat transfer from the CPU to the base of CNPS8000B for intensified cooling performance.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat a pain

Pros: great compact size for HTPC setup

Cons: was a pain to get the brackets on to mount the cooler for a LGA1150 socket.

Other Thoughts: so far performance is not that much better than stock Intel cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely cool

Pros: Keeps the CPU cool, low profile, and QUIET! Outside of my water-cooler, this is the best CPU cooler I've ever used on a system. I really bought it because of it's low-profile and it fit nicely inside my HTPC case. I'm surprised that in spite of it's size, it keeps my i7-3770K cool no matter what I'm working on. It's quiet even though the holes on my case are directly above the CPU and I can even see the fan inside the case from sitting on my sofa. Whether I sit 10 feet away or standing right next to the TV screen (near the HTPC), I still can't hear this fan.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Zalman has a super performer in this cooler. it is excellent and I'll definitely purchase another one for my future build(s).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product from Zalman

Pros: Very quiet and very inexpensive with rebate. Best used in a HTPC or in a mini itx, although with all the parts it comes with it seems to fit any need.

Cons: Not a con at all but I have a MB with and AM2 socket and I found that I had to follow the install instructions for an Intel socket 775.

Other Thoughts: Buy one if you need a small, quiet, inexpensive cpu cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Cooler

Pros: Compact for cases with minimal width, clears board components on all AM2/AM3 boards I have tried it on.

Cons: Only 5-10% better cooling than stock AMD fan (though extra case cooling helps this gap increase).

Other Thoughts: Great bang for the buck when tower coolers like the Coolermaster 212 and larger Zalman units won't fit.

1 out of 5 eggsnot for itx build

Pros: Copper bottom

Cons: On a ASRock FM2A75M-ITX Rev 2.0 board, it overhangs one of the memory slots.

Retention mechanism not as nice as Cooler Master products (ie 212 Evo & GeminII M4)

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing rocks

Pros: Small - Low profile
Quiet & efficient

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This cooler is perfect for Micro-itx builds. First off, my build consists of the following:
Case - Cooler Master Elite 120
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI
Ram - Kingston Technology HyperX 8 GB
CPU - Intel Core i5-3570
GFX Card - GTX 760

The first cooler I went with was a Noctua NH-L9I. I purchased this strictly by name and it was the only cooler I could find that was guaranteed to fit in my GA-Z77N-WIFI with out interfering with the RAM or PCIEX16 slot.

Well I was initially greatly disappointing with the Noctua because it couldn't handle the I5 3750. I had to disable turbo mode and my temps would still rise to the low 80 degrees C range when running Prime95.

So, I decided to buy the Zalman CPNS8000B. I wasn't sure if it would fit since its 108mm across apposed to the Noctua which measures in at 95mm, but it JUST barely fit. Some of the fins touch the back plate of the GPU.

After some testing, the cooler truly does rock. I currently have the i5 maxed at 4.1 Ghz (due to being a base 3750 not the K unlocked version) have the fan set to its lowest speed setting so it's whisper quite and the temps never hit the 70 degrees mark. The zalman def. exceeded my expectations, because I couldn't find any reviews online. Now I'm almost regretting I didn't the the 3750k to see how far I could take the OC.

So, in a nut shell, if you need a low profile CPU cooler and have limited space, don't hesitate and buy this guy!

3 out of 5 eggsFan not running

Pros: Keeps CPU in the low 30s

Cons: If you turn your computer off at night, fan will not run when you start computer. I usually leave it running, this is the 3rd time this has happened, will not run at all this time.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad At All

Pros: Low profile, trusted brand, looks nice! Keeps temperatures on my i5 3570k in the low 30's C. I can rip a blu-ray and encode it into an mkv with no issues.

Cons: None really to speak of aside from the installation process. Why they force us to put together these mounting brackets is beyond me. I was okay with it years ago when I first started building PC's, but we need a more streamlined process with Intel processors. I realize it doesn't take THAT long to install, but when you compare it to how easy AMD heatsinks just click into place, just seems like a waste of time to do it this way.

Other Thoughts: I honestly don't know what other owners are talking about with the noise from this fan. I installed this heatsink/fan with some artic silver and it is near silent. I'm not sure what your definition of loud is but I have to put my ear up against the side vent of my BitFenix Prodigy to hear it. Great fan, great price.

2 out of 5 eggsLOUD -- Should've listened to negative reviews

Pros: Low profile -- looks better than stock cooler

Cons: NOISE -- levels higher than the stock cooler that comes with i5.

SIZE -- bigger in size than the stock cooler. Slim in height, but not in width. Too snug for my liking in my ITX build. Doesn't even give my memory a cm of breathing room

Other Thoughts: Noise is the biggest complaint. Not liking the advertised Ultra quiet saying. I owned Zalman before, so I trusted them over the reviews, but never again.
