Pros: On first install, cools about 6 degrees Celsius better than stock cooler . (about same as most 3rd party coolers over $20)

Cons: Where do I start? Instructions make no reference to the fact you will have to remove the fan from heat sink to install it...and you WILL have to remove it...but be gentle, the only thing holding fan to heat sink are two flimsy wires , paper clip like....but nowhere near as sturdy as paper clips! Fan has to be shifted to one side a bit to keep from resting on my low-profile memory. I can see the fan having to be shifted slightly even with heat spreader-less memory.
There is no real "block" or "plate" to mount against cpu, instead, heat pipes are flattened at bottom to give only four thin "strips" of actual contact with cpu.. This thing is one of the largest air coolers I have EVER used (and I've had some big ones before)...luckily my case is a Corsair 800D, and virtually anything will fit in it. I doubt this would fit well in mid, or even SOME full sized towers. Tossed the little packet of Zalman grease, and used Artic Silver for paste.

Over all feel is just plain cheap.

Other Thoughts: Yes, this WILL fit a 1150 socket, although neither box nor instructions make reference to it. Just use "1155/1156" notches on bracket.

Being a diehard Zalman user, and cheerleader, for over 10 years, I am quite shocked that Zalman would put their name on this, much less charge $50 for it. Every Zalman fan I have bought in the past is still trucking (with original fans), I somehow doubt this one will join the list.

Plain an simple, this cooler is just not up to the high standards you've come to expect from Zalman.

Other Thoughts: If you never installed an aftermarket cooler plan to spend some time installing this guy. The motherboard will need to be removed along with the original processor backplate. Having installed on an AM3 it wasn't clear to me why they couldn't have adopted it to the stock backplate but probably a compatibility thing for all AMD sockets.....
Make sure you have a regular sized ATX case to accommodate the height of this heatsink. I have a lian li mid atx tower and had about a half inch of leeway left.

One selling point to me was the 120mm fan. You get a decent Zalman one included, but will look to replace it with a higher quality Noctua or Scythe if the right deal comes along.

Pros: Compared to the stock cooler on a AMD phenom II x4 830, this thing is just plain awesome. It's pretty large and for good reason, it's very open and very good airflow. I personally think the V shape allows better and quicker airflow, more surface area for less space. It's also dead quiet, I can't hear the thing at all, even when things get hot.

Cons: Installing this thing was a bit of a pain, for AMD processors, the screw location is right under the headsink sides, so you gotta press down and turn the allen wrench at the same time and hope you don't strip the screws. I also noticed that the base doesn't cover the entire surface of the processor, but it doesn't seem that it's causing any issues. The thing is also huge, it just barely fits in a Raidmax mid tower case, I had to remove the side exhaust fan and place it on the outside just to fit this thing in there.

Other Thoughts: I bought this so I could hopefully overclock my phenom II or install a better processor, and so far it's exceeded my expectations. I hope this cooler will last me longer than my computer, prolly the best $50 I've spent on my computer. I think that Zalman needs to shorten the heatpipes at the top since that would of given me the room to actually fit the thing in my case, they stick out about 3-4 mm out of the top of the heatsink, like little spikes, or maybe I should of just got a wider case.

Pros: This is a awesome CPU cooler. Purchased this to keep my AMD A10 5800K CPU cool, they run quite warm and I run Folding @ Home. With FAH running all CPU cores @ 100% and the GPU as well, on the stock cooler I was seeing temperatures of around 68c, not to mention was extremely noisy. Now after installing the Zalman, temps at full load have dropped to 49c, a huge difference, not to mention that I can barely hear it so its much much quieter.

Cons: Even being one of the smaller CPU coolers with a 120mm fan, its still big, barely fit my case, had to mod my side panel and put in a mesh opening to gain a extra couple mm's, but Im also using a MicroATX case so bad on me for not measuring more closely before hand.

Other Thoughts: If you have a small case, this can work, just might need to modify side panel a bit.

Pros: Installation is practically idiot proof (assuming that you can read instructions), small footprint, quiet.

Cons: Fan is not ball bearing.

Other Thoughts: This thing looks like it could be an A/C evaporator in a small car, but is not obnoxiously huge like some tower coolers. No LEDs? Who cares! It works! I think the V design is more efficient than a monolithic brick cooler, and it clears the RAM on an Intel DZ77GA-70K motherboard with a little room to spare. Allows moderately sane overclocking with ease. Idle temps high 30s to low 40s, 4.5 GHz overclock just cracks the 90s in a warm room at full load (i5-3570K). This is Ivy Bridge, Sandy Bridge would run even cooler.

Pros: Good brand. Comes with the stuff to mount it on many different socket options. Comes with it's own tools for installation (at least for socket 2011).

Cons: I used this for socket 2011, maybe that socket was an oversight in their design process, or maybe the fan/heat sink just isn't good. Also, the board I was installing it on was dual socket, so I had two of these guys and both of them were the exact same.
The screws provided must have been made out of gold or some other extremely soft metal because the screws (both the heads and the teeth) stripped EXTREMELY easily. I had some motherboard issues so I had to remove/remount these guys 2 times a piece. I don't know about you, but I think that screws that are put in and pulled out 4-6 times shouldn't be stripped by the end of that event.
The way the main part of the heat sink mounted to the board by these janky little metal pieces was such a poor design. It made it very difficult to get the mounting holes on the board to exactly line up with the heatsink and screw down. I had to return these and went with a different brand altogether.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this for Socket 2011, I can't speak for others.
